"Where do I even begin? My overall experience was simply fantastic. Let's start with the courtyard. The entrance has a rustic charm, and the whole courtyard feels elegant and serene. It's clear the owner converted their own home into this guesthouse. There are so many beautiful flowers and plants thriving in the yard, especially a cluster of multi-petaled roses. You can tell the owner has a real passion for life. There are also several cats and two sheep in the courtyard; one of the blue cats has gotten quite chunky and is absolutely adorable! The place feels so lively, and there's a strong sense of local ethnic culture, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The owner contacted us in advance about pick-up and drop-off. The young man who picked us up was very kind – I think he's the owner's son. He reached out to us beforehand and even helped with our luggage. Because the guesthouse isn't on the main street, it's very quiet and perfect for relaxing (though it's still very close to the main street, just a short walk away). Then there's the important part: the room. Since it was the off-season, the guesthouse was pretty quiet, and the owner let us choose our own room. The room has an overall wooden structure, and the decor has a strong, beautiful ******* feel. It was spotlessly clean and tidy, equipped with an oxygen concentrator and a humidifier. In winter, there's underfloor heating and electric blankets – everything you could possibly need. All toiletries were also provided. Next up, breakfast. The owner herself cooked millet porridge, steamed buns, and eggs, along with some side dishes. The matsutake mushroom and meat sauce were especially delicious! They went perfectly with the meal. Now, about the owner's family – they are all incredibly warm and friendly. Chatting with them, you realize they're genuinely kind people. They even gave us recommendations for attractions and tips for our visit. If we came back late and saw the owner, she'd always greet us with a few kind words. Although we only stayed for a short two days, we felt a real sense of belonging. Words can't fully express it, but I'll definitely recommend this place if I come back to Shangri-La or if any friends visit. Finally, I wish the owner lasting joy and health, and a thriving business."

"Songzhuju is one of the nicest homestay I've stayed in. 1. Butler Ah Fei and all staff are very welcoming and friendly. Ah Fei contacted me in advance to arrange pick up and itinerary. He's also the go-to guy for purchase of authentic tea and local produce. 2. Superior location The homestay is situated about 100m from north gate. Considered easy to find but I would still recommend the pick up service as the town is such a maze. It takes around 30mins by car from Lijiang Railway to the ancient town. Restaurants, cafes and shops are everywhere. 3. Spacious and cosy room Room was clean, full amenities like bathrobe, slippers, kettle, shampoo, conditioner etc all provided There are endless options of homestays to choose from but Songzhuju stands out for being so homely and such kind of personal service is really rare. After 3 days of stay, i cannot pinpoint a single negative aspect at all. Would return for sure and highly recommend to all travellers! . Bed and pillows quite comfortable. Breakfast provided from 8am. Laundry room available."

"So happy about this little hotel! 1) First of the location is great, inside the old city of Jian Shui, close to the western gate. 2) the room was specious with all the equipment needed (toilet, hot shower, super comfy bed, AC, TV etc…). 3) the room was clean and the hotel decoration is very beautiful, which gives very good relaxation feeling. 4) the owner is super kind! He helped me with in formation (about recommended food areas, and about a day trip to YuanYang), and i got bitten by a dog i played with and he gave me first aid- everything with a smile and a kind attitude! Highly recommended, one day when i will be back in Jian Shui, i will definitely stay here."

"We enjoyed our stay at 在山也. The owners and staff were incredibly helpful - they not only helped us with our luggages, provided us with great recommendations for food and tips for various activities but also offered us tea every day during our stay. We even got offered 鲜花饼 when we checked in! 🤤 The room was comfortable and we had fun with the smart room controls with 小度. The sound of the toilet flushing can be a little noisy. For people who are sensitive to sounds, singing from nearby bars can be heard from the room. Location wise, the B&B is located on top of a hill which gave beautiful views of the mountains and Li Jiang Ancient City. Fair warning, the steps can be slippery when wet. We would recommend this hotel!"

"Our family of 4 stayed with Sister Su in late June. She welcomed us with oranges and tea service and helped us settle in with a mixture of English and we chat translation. Sister Su was friendly and helpful from start to finish of our stay. Her fairly priced Naxi style courtyard minsu was so charming from the courtyard with it's tables and swing chair to the excellent two story loft we stayed in. The all wooden house was secure, cozy, quiet, offered a lot of privacy between rooms, was airy in the daytime and warm at night, and really felt like home. We loved the loft as it gave us all some privacy as a group when we needed it. The separated toilet and very functional shower, divided by a sink, were excellent and allowed for multiple people to use the facilities at once. One thing we loved about this residence was it's close proximity to the Old City, without the complication of being IN the old city (where cars cannot enter). This allowed for easy access to taxis and tour vehicles. The residence also sits very near a series of delicious economical restaurants that offered all of the main Yunnan favorites. We would stay here again if we have the chance."

The room itself was comfortable, clean, and surprisingly spacious, giving us plenty of room to relax—especially important when traveling with family. Everything was well-maintained, making our stay smooth and enjoyable. Overall, this hotel is absolutely worth staying at, particularly for families traveling with young children or infants. It offers the right balance of comfort, convenience, and hospitality that makes a trip even more special."

"Arriving late at night, the place seemed unremarkable, but waking up the next morning, the sunlight revealed a truly stunning view. Nestled beside Amandayan Lijiang, this guesthouse is my secret viewing spot in Lijiang. Tucked away amidst the hillside greenery, its stone walls and wooden structures blend harmoniously with traditional Naxi rooftops. There's no noise to disturb the peace, only a courtyard full of lush greenery and gentle light. My room features 270-degree panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, and the smart home design is both thoughtful and convenient. Drawing the curtains in the morning, the soft glow of the sunrise spills through the window, revealing the entire Lijiang Old Town with its grey-tiled roofs and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. Even my breathing slowed down. The outdoor seating area outside my room became my daily sanctuary. Sitting on the rattan chair, watching the clouds drift over the ancient city, listening to the wind rustle through the treetops, from the first light of dawn to the deep twilight, my days of simply 'doing nothing' transformed into poetry. The guesthouse's wooden textures and warm lighting design give every detail a high-end feel, making even a cup of tea before bed a healing ritual. On this trip to Lijiang, there's no need to chase the crowds; having this panoramic view is a top-tier luxury. This is a secluded corner hidden at the top of the ancient city, and it's my ideal vision of a travel-home experience."

"Located in a village next to the Starlight Night Market, the village is quite quiet during the day, despite the noise from the market at night. Strolling through the village is pleasant, and you can enjoy the leisurely lifestyle of the Dai people from the hanging rattan chairs on your room's balcony. It's about 700 meters from the main gate of Gaozhuang Xishuangjing, which is the tourist bus distribution center, making it convenient to get to various attractions. The facilities and environment are good; the restroom had a slight odor, but we informed the front desk and they cleaned it again."

"This B&B is located in the ancient city of Lukzong. The owner even picked me up from the high-speed rail station. They gave me a detailed rundown of travel tips and things to watch out for, especially regarding altitude sickness. Unfortunately, I still ended up getting it and spent one of my two days here pretty much bedridden. The B&B itself is clean, hygienic, and in a great location. It was really convenient to pop back for a rest whenever I got tired of exploring the ancient city."
