Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
In Pu'er, you can immerse yourself in the thousand-year tea culture heritage, make tea and taste tea by yourself, appreciate the unique charm of Pu'er tea ceremony, and start a deep tea journey.

Deep cultural heritage: Pu'er is the center of the world's tea tree origin, with a thousand-year Pu'er tea culture history. There are ancient tea tree communities and relics of the ancient tea-horse road here, witnessing the development of Pu'er tea from planting, processing to trade. Experiencing the tea ceremony in Pu'er can give you an in-depth understanding of the whole process of tea from fresh leaf picking to aging, and feel the cultural connotation behind Pu'er tea "edible antiques".

Course content and duration: The complete tea ceremony experience course usually takes 1-2 hours, covering the basic theoretical knowledge of Pu'er tea, tea tasting, traditional handmade tea making and other links. From understanding the characteristics of Pu'er tea of different years and origins, to mastering tea frying, tea rolling, tea drying, and shrinking into tea cakes, the course is arranged step by step. Usually, there are fewer people each time to ensure that every student can get adequate guidance.

Teachers and teaching quality: The teachers are all senior tea experts with many years of experience in Pu'er tea research, production and teaching. Some teachers also have the qualification of national tea appraiser. The teaching method focuses on the combination of theory and practice. Not only does it explain knowledge, but it also leads students to go deep into tea gardens and tea factories to understand the tea growing environment and production process on the spot, and guide tea making skills step by step.

Facilities and equipment: Most courses are set in traditional tea manors or antique tea rooms, surrounded by tea gardens and overflowing with tea fragrance. The interior decoration is simple and elegant, equipped with professional tea sets and tea seats. Students can devote themselves to tea ceremony learning and experience in a strong tea culture atmosphere, and feel the unique tea charm.
Pu'er, a tea ceremony experience is not only tea tasting, but also a cultural journey through thousands of years, allowing you to appreciate the profound heritage in the fragrance of tea, which is the only choice to deeply feel the charm of Pu'er tea ceremony.

Nake Ancient Town, Pu'er: A Timeless Painting

Nake Ancient Town, Pu'er: A Timeless Painting

Last weekend, I visited the Nake Ancient Tea Horse Road in Pu'er. It used to be a post station in ancient times, but now it has become a small town of considerable size. The biggest difference between it and other ancient towns is that it has not been excessively renovated, only decorated with flowers and lanterns, so Nake still retains the charm of the old days. How few people are there in the town? When I parked my car at the visitor center, there were less than 10 cars, including mine, except for a few RVs traveling around the country. The ancient town is opposite the visitor center. I thought it was very big at first, but it only took 20 minutes to walk slowly from the visitor center to the Fengyu Bridge. You can definitely walk back and forth in an hour. Many places on the map are no longer there, such as the Nostalgia Academy and the Ancient Road Exhibition Hall. Wandering along the uneven stone road, every old house is decorated with succulents, flowers, lanterns, pine cones, etc., and you can find some small surprises. The tea house along the river next to the Fengyu Bridge, with its tea sign swaying in the wind, made me feel like I was traveling through time. The food is also very cheap, with dried cabbage for 10 yuan a handful and glutinous rice cakes for 2 yuan each. Only the beef jerky is a bit expensive, 190 yuan per kilogram, but it tastes great. After wandering around, I returned to the entrance. Looking around, the residential buildings that have not been excessively decorated are rare in today's ancient towns. Tips: 1. It is recommended to drive by yourself. You can take a taxi to get there, but you may not be able to get back. 2. The town offers activities such as tie-dyeing, horseback riding, and tea making, which are not expensive. Feel free to ask. Nake Ancient Town is still a very worthwhile ancient town to explore.

Nakeli is a quaint tea-horse ancient town

Nakeli is a quaint tea-horse ancient town

It takes about 30 minutes by car from the Pu'er city area to reach Nakeli tea-horse ancient town. The town is not large, and it has the early charm of Lijiang ancient city without being commercialized. The town is mainly populated by locals selling tea. There is one particularly large shop where you can experience tea making on-site, as well as taste the tea. The owner is very hospitable; whether you buy anything or not, you can sit down and enjoy a tea tasting. According to the owner, all the tea is grown by his family, with good quality and reasonable prices. In addition to tea, there are also several coffee experience halls, all offering a pleasant experience. We arrived around 11 a.m. and played for about two hours, not having enough time to see everything. If you have more time, you can stroll around the town at leisure, experiencing the blend of Eastern and Western cultures through tea and coffee.

Jingmai Mountain! A great place to unwind on the weekend

Jingmai Mountain! A great place to unwind on the weekend

It takes nearly four hours to get there by highway from Pu'er city center. The commercialization of the scenic area is just right, providing basic needs without annoying tourists. The key is they don't overcharge! So far, it's one of the scenic areas I like the most. We randomly chose a restaurant in Nuogan Ancient Village for a meal, and it was delicious without any disappointments. Recommended dishes are grilled pork belly, grilled fish, and stir-fried tea leaves with eggs. They are quite distinctive and very tasty. The most common phrases we said while at Jingmai Mountain were: so beautiful, so delicious, so nice to drink. Interestingly, aside from the grilled meat and fish, all other dishes were packed and brought over by the owner from their home after we ordered. The owner would brew tea for us during the meal, including Dianhong, raw Pu'er, ripe Pu'er, and white tea. Personally, I recommend the white tea; even someone who doesn't like tea would find it good. The owner mentioned that spring tea is better than autumn tea, so everyone can choose their travel time accordingly. The greening inside the ancient village is wonderful, and the residents' pace of life is very slow. On the way down the mountain, you can stop at the viewing platform to take photos and check in, as the scenery is particularly beautiful. Due to time constraints, we only visited Nuogan Ancient Village and stopped briefly at Wengji Ancient Town to see the sacred tree.

My Favorite City in Yunnan—Puer

My Favorite City in Yunnan—Puer

Sharing my little travel itinerary Nakeli Ancient Town is the least commercialized ancient town I've ever visited You can buy everything there, olive honey for 15 yuan a bottle I took a taxi there, the journey is a bit long The driver might say that he needs to charge more (the reason being that it's hard to find passengers for the return trip) But actually, it's not necessary, because there are always many people during the day You can refuse the extra charge - Local specialties, like the sour and spicy chicken feet, don't need to be bought at the store Ordering takeout is super convenient - Pay attention to the business hours of Yang's Puer Sour and Spicy Rice Noodles They close in the afternoon (you can also order takeout) No need to make the trip, the delivery won't spoil, and overall it's pretty good - Shen's Stinky Tofu always has a long queue It feels like it's better to go there ahead of the mealtime rush - May 1st Farmers' Market When I went there, it felt just like a vegetable market, Since I don't live there, there wasn't much for me to buy However, if you walk to the left of the market, there's a beef shop They have their special dried beef It's very fragrant when stir-fried in the shop! I bought some to take home! It's much cheaper than in Xishuangbanna, definitely worth a try - I regret not allocating more time for Puer in my itinerary I really like this city
