[Karuizawa]

Onioshidashi Park is a magnificent lava belt formed by the great eruption of Mt. Asama in 1783. It is counted as one of the three most scenic spots in the world, and covers an area of approximately 6.8 square kilometers. There are many things to see in the park, such as the central plateau lined with huge rocks taller than a person and seasonal alpine plants! The standard course from the main approach to the Kannon Hall and around the back approach is about a 30-minute walk. It is about a 45-minute drive from the Usui-Karuizawa IC on the Joshinetsu Expressway, or about a 25-minute bus ride from Manza-Kawazawaguchi Station on the Agatsuma Line. If you want to see the lava art created by the energy of nature, please come and visit us! ! #breathtakingview #travelwithchildren #shrine #JapanGenkiProject2021 #breathtakingview #travelwithchildren

A town dedicated to onsen soaking

i visited this beautiful city in gunma prefecture, this town is best-known for onsen. onsen is a hot spring of naturally hot water gushing out from the ground. in japanese cultures people used it for relaxation or medical therapy. we strolled along the small town and there were many cute shops selling souvenirs and restaurants serving local cuisine and sweets. there are also many ryokan inns to spend a few days for a lovely vacation. a day trip from tokyo is perfect for a getaway. it is easily accessible by train from tokyo to naganohara- kusatsuguchi station it travel two and a half hours. #onsen #kusatsu #japantrip

[Gunma Prefecture/Kumano Shrine] A rare shrine on the prefectural border

[Gunma Prefecture/Kumano Shrine] A rare shrine on the prefectural border

Located at an altitude of 1200m, at the top of Usui Pass. A rare shrine on the border between Gunma and Nagano prefectures. After passing through the Zuishinmon Gate, from the left you will see Nachi Shrine, Hongu Shrine, and Shingu Shrine lined up! Shingu Shrine is an important cultural property designated by Gunma Prefecture. The carvings are wonderful, and inside the shrine building you will find a slightly intimidating Suijin shrine built in the early Meiji period, as well as the oldest bell in Gunma Prefecture. Since the shrine office is separate from Kumano Kotaijin Shrine, we received a handwritten stamp from Kumano Shrine. ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ ❁ ❁ ❁┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ ❥❥History On the way back from Emperor Yamato Takeru's conquest of the Eastern Barbarians, I encountered fog at Usui Pass. There, he encountered the Yatagarasu. Following the Yatagarasu as it led the way, dropping Nagi leaves, he safely reached the summit of Usui Pass. The Yatagarasu has a connection with Japan, as it was the Yatagarasu that led his ancestor, Emperor Kanmu, from Kumano to Nara. Emperor Yamato Takeru is said to have been deeply grateful for the protection of the Kumano deities for his ascent to the peak, and enshrined the three Kumano shrines. ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ ❁ ❁ ❁┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ ✼••┈┈┈┈••✼••┈┈┈┈••✼ ❥❥ Kumano Shrine 🚗 Karuizawa Station → 10 minutes ✼••┈┈┈┈••✼••┈┈┈┈••✼ #Kumano Shrine #Shrine Tour #Gunma Prefecture #Gunma Tourism #Gunma Trip

[Gunma] An overwhelmingly blue river

📍 Lake Shima It's located deep in the mountains of Gunma Prefecture. I was impressed by the beautiful blue color. Shima has two lakes, Lake Shima and Lake Okushima. This is Lake Shima. The surface of the lake is basically blue, but when it rains or the weather is bad, it turns a color closer to turquoise blue. Lake Okushima is a deeper blue. #hiddenplace #japan #breathtakingview

[Gunma] Japan's No. 1 Mole Station🚉

Look everyone, this is a "station" 🚃 Isn't it too scary!? There is a passageway before you reach the stairs, and the atmosphere there is completely horrifying 😇 It looks like this, but when I went there were a lot of tourists ✌️ You can enter without a ticket, so it's probably best to go for sightseeing purposes. 📍 location: "Doai Station" Minakami Town, Gunma Prefecture #Free Spot #Doai Station #Summer Trip #Amazing View

Kusatsu Onsen

#japantrip Yubatake, the symbol of Kusatsu Onsen, offers a unique and captivating experience in the heart of Gunma Prefecture. This iconic hot spring field, where steaming hot water gushes out and flows through wooden channels, is a sight to behold, especially when illuminated at night. The sulfuric aroma and the sight of mineral deposits forming around the channels add to the authentic onsen atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy the traditional “yumomi” performance, where locals stir the hot water with wooden paddles to cool it down, a practice that dates back to the Edo period. The surrounding area is filled with charming shops, cafes, and foot baths, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll. Located in Kusatsu Town, Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefecture, Yubatake is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the rich culture and therapeutic benefits of one of Japan’s most famous hot springs.

Okutone Suigennomori

Gozan no Okuribi (五山送り火, 5-mountain farewell fire) is a bonfire arranged in kanji, and in the shape of a boat, and torii on 5 mountains surrounding the city of Kyoto, Japan. This tradition is the highlight of the Obon celebration in Kyoto, and is held every August 16th. The tradition of lighting okuribi (fires to bring spirits home) is intended to usher in the return of spirits who are believed to visit the homes of family or children during Obon celebrations. Gozan no Okuribi is also known as Daimonji no Okuribi (大文字の送り火), because fire is ignited to form the character (moji or monji) for "dai" (大, large). Besides Kyoto, Daimonji no Okuribi is also held in several other places in Japan. In the Edo period, okuribi were not only lit in 5 locations. Back then there were still bonfires arranged in the hiragana letters for "i", and the kanji for "ichi" (one), "hebi" (snake), and "naginata" (machete-edged spear). Gozan no Okuribi is one of the 4 major celebrations in Kyoto, along with the Aoi Matsuri, Gion Matsuri, and Jidai Matsuri. #camping#themeparks#nationalpark#lakes#infinitypool

Gunma Attractions: Watarase Keikoku Railway Sightseeing Train

This is a unique sightseeing train. We visited this unmanned station, which connects Kiryu Station in Gunma Prefecture to Matou Station in Tochigi Prefecture. Along the way, you can quietly enjoy the natural beauty of the valley on both sides. The train operates only on specific dates, so remember to book in advance during weekends or peak travel seasons to avoid disappointment. Along the route, you can also visit attractions like Takatsudo Gorge, Ashio Copper Mine, and Mizunuma Station Hot Springs.
