SAIGON OPERA HOUSE

#hochiminhcity Standing magnificently at the heart of Ho Chi Minh City is the Saigon Opera House, which is also known as the Municipal Theater. The building stands as one of the impressive sight in Saigon – both night and day. Saigon Opera House was built in 1898 by the French architect – Eugene Ferret, following the “flamboyant” style of the French Third Republic. It was set to be two meters higher than the street surface with two door layers, in order to prevent traffic noise. Built in parallel structure, the Opera House is located on the city’s center axis, connecting the metro station and roundabout in front of Ben Thanh market. From a distance, the Opera House looks like a beautiful gigantic city gate. The architecture boasts stone-carved ornaments and statues at the entrance, crystal chandeliers, and shiny granite floor at the lobby area – all built with materials imported from France. The oval auditorium with 468 seats offers good view from every seat. It is also echo-free and therefore preserves all the sound inside the theatre.

Trip in Ho Chi Minh City - Day 1

Trip in Ho Chi Minh City - Day 1

Day 1: Breakfast - Central Post Office - Notre Dame Cathedral - Lunch - City Hall - Central Street - Dinner – Ho Chi Minh Square 1️⃣ Started the day with a coffee at Trung Nguyên Legend Café. This brand is found all over Ho Chi Minh City and is considered a fantastic local coffee chain. And, the one near Notre Dame Cathedral is special because it has an indoor beach, allowing you to feel relaxed by the seaside in the heart of the city. 2️⃣ Then, I headed to the Central Post Office, which isn't far from the coffee shop. On either side of the post office, you can handle postal services, while in the middle, you can find various souvenirs. 3️⃣ Right across from the post office is Notre Dame Cathedra. The cathedral was built in 1877 during the French colonial period. 4️⃣ For lunch, I dined at RUNAN, a restaurant next to Notre Dame Cathedral. I ordered a Berry Smoothie, Prawn and Pomelo Salad, and Grilled Prawn with Vietnamese noodles. It was quite delicious. Address: Số 3 Công xã Paris, Phường Bến Nghé, Quận 1, TP Hồ Chí Minh 5️⃣ After lunch, I explored City Hall, and nearby was Central Street, which felt like Paris's Champs-Élysées. After some tiring sightseeing, I found another corner café to relax. Vietnamese coffee is generally quite delicious, and any random café I chose was good. 6️⃣ Dinner was a casual affair with street food such as egg pancakes, rice balls, and grilled meat. After eating, I strolled to Ho Chi Minh Square. The City Hall was even more beautiful at night, and I took some photos before returning to the hotel.

Ho Chi Minh Michelin Restaurant: A Romantic Choice

CoCo Dining & Whisky Bar is a Michelin-recommended restaurant worth experiencing. With elegant staff and a wonderful, luxurious space, it truly meets the standards of a high-end restaurant. Enjoying delicious food while listening to live piano music creates a perfect atmosphere for proposals. The restaurant excels in cocktails and whisky bar ambiance, with live piano performances featuring popular tunes, creating an interesting blend of fine dining and everyday life. The cuisine here is a refined combination of Vietnamese and European dishes, known as contemporary Vietnamese cuisine. The exquisite decor gives diners a sense of nobility. The appetizers, such as oysters and spring rolls, are delicious, and the main courses, like duck breast and steak, are excellent. 5 stars for this wonderful experience!

Deme Brewing @ Ho Chi Minh

#2024wish Deme Brewery is a well-loved microbrewery here at Ho Chi Minh. The one we visited was located at Quan 3, but there's also another newer branch located at Quan 5. To enter, you'll have to climb quite a few flight of stairs before reaching - it's pretty hidden! We especially loved the outdoor seating area at the roof where you can see Ho Chi Minh city from the top. Good beer, good view, what more can you ask for? Waterpark in Ho Chi Minh

Waterpark in Ho Chi Minh

#hochiminhcity Dam Sen Water Park in Saigon is a great place to visit with family, especially on hot days. The admission fee of around $8.50 per person is reasonable and the park has a variety of activities to offer. Our family of 5, including 2 children, had a fun time there. Although the swimsuits cost more than the admission, they were well worth it. The park has a children's play pool that is perfect for younger kids and it was one of our children's favorite attractions. The synthetic beach was also a hit and it provided a fun, beach-like experience in the middle of the city. Unfortunately, our children were not tall enough to go on all the slides, but there were still enough activities for them to enjoy. In conclusion, Dam Sen Water Park is a great option for families in Saigon. The admission fee is reasonable and there are plenty of activities for both children and adults to enjoy. While some of the attractions are not suitable for younger children, there are still plenty of options for them to have fun. I would give the park a 4-star rating and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun day out with family.

My 3rd time visiting Ho Chi Minh City. I truely love Vietnam because of the country has its uniqueness. I love their food (so muchhhh), plenty of cafes, restaurants, museums, local attractions. One of the most famous attractive places that I would like to recommend here in Ho chi minh is Cafe Apartment. Discovering how the old walk up apartment buildings are transformed into clever nests of interesting little shops, cafes and restaurants with 180-degree panoramic view of Ho chi minh city. Don't forget you try their local food such as Pho, Ban mi, etc. #staycation

Vừa Vừa Cafe

#vietnamtrip minimal style with main gray tone, spacious and airy space. There is a sitting area in the yard and ground floor only, free parking - in front of the shop, there is a guard. Price: reasonable, over 35k. The day I went in the morning, the shop only served filtered black coffee for 35k (OK) Staff: 9/10, the security guard is extremely friendly and enthusiastic. He also knows how to communicate in English with all the people living around there.
