Introduction Peking Opera Performances in Beijing

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
Peking opera performance, as the quintessence of Chinese culture, originated in the late 18th century and integrates various art forms such as singing, reciting, acting and fighting. It uses Erhuang and Xipi as the main vocal styles, and the accompaniment is divided into civil and martial arts. The roles are divided into different roles, such as Sheng, Dan, Jing and Chou, each with its own characteristics. Peking opera stage art focuses on freehand brushwork, and facial makeup is an important element in expressing the character of the role. There are many classic repertoires, such as Jiujiangkou and Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy, which show a profound cultural heritage. Peking opera is not only a symbol of the traditional culture of the Chinese nation, but also has been included in the list of intangible cultural heritage, highlighting its important status and value.

Stey-Wangfujing

Stey-Wangfujing Is Beautiful modern design of the room! Has a small kitchen in the room, a fridge with free water and tea. Smart home system is something that was very nice to try out too! Comfy bed, fantastic smell of expensive perfume as soon as you enter the room, good toiletries (if you don’t have a toothbrush, you should tell the staff, they will eagerly provide it but originally you are required to bring your own). Excellent location, right next to the metro station - Dengshikou, literally 5 min walk. The staff is super friendly and helpful! Although it took us quite some time (an hour or more) to register and provide all the green codes since we were traveling still at a “vulnerable” time of covid. The common area is beyond any expectations. Free coffee (amazing one!!) and tea and soda and the space is exceptionally cozy and modern. They have a huge common kitchen with a fridge, an oven (and what not) so you can easily make yourself a yummy breakfast (or even dinner) there. We absolutely loved our stay!! #uniquehotel #templeblessed #eventcelebration #art #easylife #bestislandtraveltowns#themepark#nationalpark#lakes

Gui Jie (Ghost Street)

Many restaurants are open 24 hrs, but the street is at its most lively in the evenings. This mile-long food street features more than 150 restaurants and has been serving up late night noms since the Qing Dynasty. With its iconic red lanterns, it’s difficult to miss and provides a lively night market experience that won’t break the bank. The restaurants here serve specialties from all over China, with some of the most popular being crayfish, bullfrog, hotpot, and chuan chuan (spicy skewers in soup). Our tour guide bought us here. He said this is the place where locals comes for eats and drinks after dark, thus the name. The spicy small lobsters are very good. Remember to ask for the mild spice level. It is already extremely spicy for almost everybody in my opinion. The lobsters are to be ordered in quantities of 10. #beijingtrip #urbanexplorer #cityoverlook

It was the tallest Buddhist temple in Qing dynasty. Nowadays the temple is attractive with it’s rich colors and variety of buildings. Yanqi resort 🏡

💁🏼‍♀️ If you are tired of crazy fast life of Beijing this place is a perfect choice. 📍 风车广场,Huairou district, Beijing city. 💰 I am not not sure about the price since I didn’t book. 🏃‍♀️ It also has a big field, you can take a walk or run or play. I saw children playing football. 🎢 No attractions nearby, no shops, very few restaurants. But it’s close to Yanqi river. You won’t be feeling bored but I think 2-3 days are enough. A well planned weekend is enough. 📸 @_ana_mee_ on Instagram #beijingtrip #huairou #chinalife #yanqi #summervacation

Summer Palace: A Royal Garden's Spring Dream

Summer Palace: A Royal Garden's Spring Dream

🍃 On this sunny spring day, I embarked on a journey to seek history and beauty, with my destination being the Summer Palace. This former royal garden has now become a treasure we all share. 🌼 Stepping into the Summer Palace is like traveling back to that glorious dynasty. The colorful paintings on the Long Corridor tell stories of a thousand years; the weeping willows by the Kunming Lake gently sway to the melody of spring. Each step is a dialogue with history, a closeness with nature. 🌸 Standing atop the Longevity Hill, overlooking the entire garden, the beautiful scenery is all in sight. The lake surface sparkles, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds, creating a fascinating scene; the distant Seventeen-Arch Bridge, like a jade belt, lies across the rippling waves. At this moment, I feel an unprecedented tranquility and beauty. 🍵 In the Summer Palace, you can also taste authentic Beijing snacks and experience the unique charm of Beijing. A cup of fragrant jasmine tea, accompanied by a few delicate pastries, indulges one in this leisurely and comfortable atmosphere. 🌈 The Summer Palace, a place that makes you linger and forget to return. Here, you can converse with history, get close to nature, and feel that unique tranquility and beauty. If you also long for a date with spring, why not come and see the Summer Palace! Summer Palace

I can't believe there's a place like this in Beijing!!!

I can't believe there's a place like this in Beijing!!!

The title is an exclamation I overheard from another guest. It's the perfect title and something I'm sure everyone who has been to Xitan will resonate with. I want to mention: The kindness expressed by those who love to stay at Xitan is not service-oriented, it's embodied in their demeanor. They're willing to listen, willing to talk. It's not a rigid Q&A, it's candid and natural. I look forward to the moment when the leaves fall and the mountains are sprinkled with sugar, I'll be back in winter~ Bored in the mountains? ■In the hotel: Gym → Pilates room → Swimming → Chanting room → Spa → Private theater → Tea room → Coffee room → Bar → Restaurant (all under the Xin Rong Ji brand, Chinese restaurant Rong Fu Yan, Western restaurant RB) ■Outside the hotel: Tanzhe Temple → Tan Valley Slow Flash Park → Tianmen Mountain → Miaofeng Mountain I don't believe anyone would be bored with this itinerary.

What a joy it is at the Chaoyang International Beer Festival!

What a joy it is at the Chaoyang International Beer Festival!

The Chaoyang International Craft Beer Festival! If it's on this year, I'm definitely going! Last year, I grabbed my drinking buddies and rushed over, it was so much fun with great food, drinks, and vibes! The venue featured not only the top 100 global craft beer brands but also dozens of outstanding craft breweries from across the country, with nearly 100+ new brews to taste. The stall owners were so nice and talkative, it felt like they were hosting old friends, very enthusiastic about letting you try their own brews~ Beyond the drinks, there was a plethora of delicious food, from American hot dogs and burgers to Turkish kebabs, steaks, ribs, and Sichuan snacks, everything you could want, especially satisfying! Next to the exhibition area, the large lawn was the scene for electronic music, with continuous DJ performances starting from 3:30 pm and lasting for eight hours. I have to participate in the 'Beer Games' in the evening, it's so much fun! Looking forward to this year's beer festival~ Hahaha

Take care of yourself and relax with a spa this autumn.

Take care of yourself and relax with a spa this autumn.

If you need a full-body relaxation, a spa is a must. The service is so considerate. The Chinese-style environment is elegant and quiet. Each room is warm and private, and all your stress and worries will disappear. The staff is great. They arranged a professional therapist for me according to my needs. The whole process was very relaxing. After the spa, I enjoyed a low-fat meal, including shrimp and chicken breast salad, nuts, yogurt, and fruit. It was healthy and delicious. This is the right way to relax after work.
