Kota Kinabalu Sunset Guide

🌅Kota Kinabalu Sunset Guide🌅 Tanjung Aru Beach - Location and transportation: Located on the west coast of Kota Kinabalu, it takes about 15 minutes and MYR 20 to get there by taxi from the city center. You can also take bus No. 16 from Wawasan Plaza for only MYR 1.5 per person. - Best time to visit: The weather is clear from October to March, making it a great time to visit. We recommend arriving at the beach around 4 pm to enjoy the beautiful scenery and get a good spot to watch the sunset. - Tips: The beach is free to enter, but it can get crowded in the evening. You can walk along the beach to the second or third beach, which are quieter. You can also book a table at the Sunset Bar at Shangri-La Hotel, Zing Sunset Bar, or Lucy's Kitchen to watch the sunset. - Food and activities: While waiting for the sunset, you can try the barbecue and fresh coconut juice from the food stalls near the beach, or take part in water sports such as surfing, kayaking, or diving. Other places to watch the sunset - Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu: You can visit even if you are not a hotel guest. We recommend arriving about an hour before sunset. The hotel has its own sunset beach and sunset bar, which are not crowded. - KK Waterfront, Rooftop Bar, Signal Hill in the city center, and the "Lighthouse" at the Tip of Borneo: These places offer unique views of the sunset from above. Photography tips and things to note - Photography tips: Bring a camera or smartphone and use the coconut trees and beach chairs as foreground elements to take more layered photos. You can also try different angles, such as low-angle shots of the waves and sunset, or high-angle panoramic shots. - Things to note: Check the weather before you go and choose a sunny day. The roads to the beach may be congested during peak hours on weekdays or weekends, so plan your time in advance and allow enough time for travel. The beach has strong UV rays, so make sure to protect yourself from the sun.

Enjoy sunset at Kota Kinabalu

#malaysia Watching the sunset at Kota Kinabalu is a mesmerizing experience that captivates the soul. As the sun gently descends towards the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over the South China Sea, the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant hues. The silhouette of Mount Kinabalu, Malaysia's tallest peak, adds a majestic backdrop to the scene. Locals and tourists gather along the bustling waterfront promenade, known as the "KK Waterfront," to witness this daily spectacle. The air is filled with a sense of tranquility as the sun's radiance slowly diminishes, creating a serene ambiance that encourages reflection and appreciation for the beauty of nature. As the sun disappears completely, leaving behind a final burst of vivid colors, the city's lights begin to twinkle, casting a serene reflection on the water. Watching the sunset at Kota Kinabalu is not just a visual treat but also a spiritual one, offering a profound sense of connection with the natural world and a lasting memory of the enchanting Malaysian Borneo.

Beautiful Sunset View Restaurant, KK Sabah

#sabah #italiancuisine #sunset #restaurant #romantic #seaview Toscani's Wine & Dine Cafe is located at Lot 14 Waterfront, Pusat Bandar Kota Kinabalu, 88000 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. The restaurant has the perfect location for sunset. The sunset time is about 6pm, we arrive there at 5.40pm and it is the right time waiting for sunset. They provide Italian cuisine, such as Black Squid Ink Pasta, Steak, and Pizza. We ordered Lobster Bisque, Lasagne, and Lamb Shank. The Lobster Bisque taste creamy with little lobster meat. The Lamb Shank not reach my aspectation, as it is boiled and put on some sauce. The Beef Lasagna is the only dish that reach my aspectation. Overall, the environment is good and cozy. The staff are friendly and helpful, they try to get a good sunset view location for me to take photo and enjoy the view.

World Class Sunset @ Tg Aru Beach, KK

One of the great joys of Kota Kinabalu are the fabulous sunsets. And Tanjung Aru Beach has one of the most beautiful sunset views in the world. This beach used to be a quiet beach visited mostly by locals only. Not until 2014, a blog listed Kota Kinabalu city as one of the world’s best place to watch sunset. Since then, the beach is frequented by tourists every day and their exciting reactions confirm that the sunset here is truly spectacular ✨ There was a real feel-good atmosphere here with locals and tourists enjoying the breathtaking golden sunset. Take a camera, chill & enjoy! #sabah #kkcity #sunset

Perfect sunset in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Perfect sunset in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Kota Kinabalu, a city where even street names have Chinese names, is perfect for a weekend getaway. · For sunset, besides Tanjung Aru Beach, I Love KK in the city center also offers stunning views. After watching the sunset, cross the road and head to Gaya Street for delicious food. Many restaurants in Gaya are Chinese-owned, offering delicious Bak Kut Teh, BBQ, and roast duck. It's like a food street, with restaurants open during the day and a bustling night market at night. After dinner, you can head to the nearby Durian Bridge for durian and mangosteen - lots of tropical fruits! · Photos 17-18: Accommodation recommendation - Shan Ya Homestay in Wisma Merdeka. The owner is a Chinese girl who speaks fluent Mandarin and is very enthusiastic. She can recommend various travel tips. The building has beautiful scenery and a swimming pool. Photos 15-16 recommend the restaurant downstairs from the homestay, a tea restaurant with Lingnan style. Many local Chinese come here for morning tea. · Two popular activities near Kota Kinabalu are watching proboscis monkeys and fireflies. Both are located far from the city center. Usually, people watch monkeys first, then head to the beach for sunset and finally watch fireflies. Seeing monkeys depends on luck, we didn't see any; but there are many fireflies. If you are traveling with children or elderly, choose carefully.

Tanjung Aru Beach in Kota Kinabalu: World-Class Sunset

Tanjung Aru Beach is located on the west side of Kota Kinabalu, with rows of palm trees and casuarina trees lining the beach. We arrived at the beach around 5:30 PM, and the road was already getting congested, so it's advisable to leave earlier. Upon entering, we saw many stalls selling a variety of items, mostly food, and there were also durian stalls. Nearby, there were bars with outdoor seating areas that required payment to sit. We didn't patronize them but walked along the beach instead. Despite the trees, pavilions, and cloudy weather, it was still quite hot at times. Although the weather was average that day, we still saw a beautiful sunset. On the way back, there were too many people calling for rides, so we had to walk to the city center to get a ride. Keep this in mind!
