Winter Ritual Sense|Cave cabin hidden in the valley, full of atmosphere

The hotel is located in the Xia Lai Valley of the Huzhou Southwest Xiamu Mountain area, the rooms are designed as unique caves, very high-end and artistic, with a sense of immersion in the forest secret realm, cream-colored walls and warm curves, feeling very comfortable and safe. The hotel combines the slope valley landscape of the surrounding terrain to create 5 areas and 13 cave villas and rooms, each room can see a different scenery. We stayed in the secret realm double bed room, with a skylight enjoying the freshest sunshine every day, each villa also has a delicate small courtyard, when it snows it is the most beautiful shooting location~ The most distinctive is that the tatami platform is curved, it's like living in a warm cave~ The snow in winter falls down softly, and when the lights are on in the house, it seems like you can hear the sound of the snow falling~ The hotel has an indoor western restaurant, cave bar, outdoor wilderness kitchen... it's simply a foodie's paradise~ In order to control quality, whether it's desserts or dishes, they are all made in the kitchen, using fresh ingredients and artisanal cooking, allowing guests to experience a 'forest fairy' like pollution-free green menu. The hot springs are especially nice, the hotel's organized snow hiking is very interesting, after hiking, soaking in a deep rock layer hot spring private bath, this feeling is too wow! In addition, the hotel's public area also has a secret realm corridor, lookout hut, fir forest secret realm and other open spaces, fully in zero distance contact with nature! There's also open-air movie watching every night at 19:00.

Nanxun Ancient Town, Huzhou, Zhejiang Province 4/5.

To truly appreciate Nanxun, one must savor it with care. The unique bricks and tiles tell the story of the prosperous exchange between China and the West, while the grand mansions and courtyards reflect the changes of the times. Today, the ancient town retains its charm, with its unique layout, well-preserved appearance, rich culture, and simple folk customs making it a model and representative of Jiangnan water towns. The historical and cultural heritage of Nanxun has left behind many unique ancient buildings that are unparalleled by other ancient towns.

Is there still a place in China during the National Day holiday that is less crowded and has beautiful scenery?

Is there still a place in China during the National Day holiday that is less crowded and has beautiful scenery?

Can we still find a place during the long holiday that has enough beautiful scenery, few enough people, and traffic that is not congested? I would never dare to travel within the country during the National Day holiday in the past, but this time I want to try. After about a month of research, I set my sights on Taihu Lake, especially Huzhou, which I have long wanted to visit. As I was researching, I found out that there is no such place as the ancient town of Huzhou. When people talk about traveling to Huzhou, they are actually referring to a series of ancient towns scattered around the south of Taihu Lake. To meet the aforementioned three conditions, I avoided those well-known popular ancient towns and chose a few that are less known, but highly regarded by the locals. Such ancient towns have a low degree of commercialization, are home to many local natives, and lack flashy neon lights and loud music. That is the true waterside residence in my heart. The first stop in Huzhou was thus set to be Zhenshan Ancient Town, a 2000-year-old human settlement that began to be established during the Tang Dynasty and quickly became the gateway to the Grand Canal from Beijing to Hangzhou. In Zhenshan, I always see the shadow of Venice, with the commercial buildings by the river having warehouses on the lower floors and residences on the upper floors, and the doors facing a private freight dock, neatly parked with several cargo ships. It was only after some research that I found out that this place was also a drainage lake in ancient times, 'first a torrent, then a marsh, and finally a patchwork of fields and lanes'. Although the ancient town is a 4A-level scenic spot, it is not crowded with tourists. The sparse flow of people gives the ancient town a sense of breathability, allowing one to slowly relax. On the second evening at Taihu Lake, it was still a case of seeing clouds but no sun. Although the sun was hiding, it generously provided a sky full of sunset colors. I think this may be the charm of Taihu Lake in autumn. The crisp autumn air makes even the humidity of this great lake compromise a bit, giving a pleasant surprise to the travelers each day.

The Charm of Water Towns, A Century of Elegance—The Tranquil Moments of Nanxun Ancient Town

Nanxun Ancient Town, like a sleeping pearl of Jiangnan, quietly awaits in the depths of time. Stepping into this place feels like traveling through time, experiencing the elegance of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The town is famous for its crisscrossing waterways and numerous bridges, with winding bluestone alleys flanked by ancient houses adorned with carved beams and painted rafters. The water reflects the white walls and black tiles, creating a picturesque scene. Every brick and tile here seems to tell a story of a hundred years of history, making it hard for visitors to leave. Strolling along the riverbank, the leisurely sound of oars can be heard as boats carry tourists through the ancient houses and stone bridges. The shimmering water surface seems to lead people into a gentle dream. The most representative old houses, such as the Liu Family Ladder Hall and the Zhang Shiming Residence, are well-preserved. Whether it's the exquisite wood carvings, the elegant blend of Chinese and Western architecture, or the tranquility of the inner courtyards, they all highlight the former prosperity and elegance of this land. As night falls, the lights of the ancient town illuminate the water, reflecting a charming night scene, as if telling the tenderness of time. The slow pace of Nanxun allows people to let go of their restlessness, settle their minds in tranquility, and feel the elegance and composure of the Jiangnan ancient town. This trip to Nanxun is a journey through time and a return to the soul.

The architecture of the Huzhou Yejie Resort is very special!

The architecture of the Huzhou Yejie Resort is very special!

The Huzhou Yejie Resort is located in Miaoshan Village, Miaoxi Town, Wuxing District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is a secluded hotel known for its unique cave design. The hotel is located in the Xia Mu Valley, surrounded by rich vegetation, providing a holiday environment integrated with nature. Huzhou Yejie Resort adopts earth-sheltered architecture and is the only cave hotel in China with full earth-sheltered architecture. The design inspiration of the hotel comes from the mysterious "alien cave dwelling". The appearance is similar to the weirdly shaped jars scattered in the secret garden. The 13 "Planet Houses" of the hotel are irregularly distributed along the slope, forming a unique visual effect. The interior space of the guest room is towering, and the design integrates the original and the future, providing a new living experience. The hotel's rooms are divided into four types: garden, courtyard, rainforest, and secret. Each room is equipped with an independent private soup pool, which introduces deep rock spring water into the house to ensure privacy and comfort. The interior decoration of the guest room is exquisite and fully equipped, including high-end products such as Swiss Spierlla mouthwash cups, Hermes leather bags, Le Lab toiletries, and modern facilities such as Yamaha/Harman Kardon audio. The hotel's Yixiang·Yejie Restaurant specializes in Western food and offers handmade desserts and dishes on site. In addition, the hotel also offers a variety of activities such as open-air movies, forest hiking, tent afternoon tea, and outdoor kitchens, allowing guests to fully experience the fun of close contact with nature. There are tourist attractions such as Giraffe Manor and Hometown Town around Huzhou Yejie Resort. Guests can easily take short trips and enjoy more natural scenery and leisure experience.

Liu's Ladder Hall: The Red House

#favouriteitinerary Commonly known as the Red House, Liu's Ladder Hall integrates traditional Jiangnan courtyard architecture with European Romanesque style. The Hui-style horsehead walls and Shikumen gates feature European Rococo-style arch tops, creating a striking visual impact. Personal Opinion: In my opinion, Liu's Ladder Hall is a fascinating blend of architectural styles, offering a unique and visually captivating experience. It's a must-visit for architecture enthusiasts and those looking to explore a rich cultural fusion.

Jiangnan Water Town (VIII)

Jiangnan Water Town (VIII)

After a short rest in the afternoon, we officially stepped into the ancient town of Nanxun. It was only when we entered that we learned that by simply registering our fingerprints, we could re-enter the park at any time the next day. Upon entering the gate, we immediately immersed ourselves in the picturesque scene of small bridges over flowing water and households along the river. The small streets on both sides of the river feature both manor houses and distinctive shops, with several small bridges connecting the two streets. Strolling along the riverbank, one can easily visit several major attractions in the scenic area without deliberately searching. Sitting on the stone steps by the river, behind me, a black-awning boat would occasionally drift by, followed by moments where only the stone arch bridge and the glistening waves under the stone steps are left; the bluestone paths seem to narrate the noble and elegant past of Nanxun; standing on the stone arch bridge and looking down, the ancient houses on the side, the drooping green leaves, and the distant boats add a touch of vitality to the scene. Nanxun has a famous architectural complex called the Hundred Houses. The Hundred Houses were built during the Ming Dynasty and have a history of over four hundred years. It is the most well-preserved riverside residential building complex from the Ming and Qing dynasties in the Jiangnan area, with about a hundred houses that maintain the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty while also incorporating the charm of the Qing Dynasty. The buildings are erected along the river, winding along the waterway, and the delicate and transparent roll-up doors connect the entire Hundred Houses into a long arcade-style street. To get to the Hundred Houses, one must first cross a small road. Walking deeper into the streets, the shops become fewer, and a sense of desolation and vicissitudes arises. Suddenly, I found myself on the long street of the Hundred Houses complex. Here, the simplicity and naturalness, the sparse tourists, and the sight of the locals' simple ancient town life are so leisurely and comfortable. The red lanterns hung in front of each household form a beautiful scenery line, which, together with the building complex and small bridges, is reflected in the water, presenting a tranquil and beautiful scene that one is reluctant to disturb.

Nanxun|A Must-Visit Destination This Spring!!!

Nanxun|A Must-Visit Destination This Spring!!!

I set off on a weekend getaway to Nanxun in March. Nanxun Ancient Town, this gentle water town hidden deep in the south of the Yangtze River, offers a tranquil escape. I stayed at the recently popular Four Points by Sheraton Nanxun, Four Points by Sheraton Nanxun, and enjoyed a delightful two-day, one-night trip! 🚗Transportation: Driving to Nanxun from Shanghai takes about two hours. The scenery along the way gradually transforms from urban skyscrapers to green fields. The high-speed rail opened in December 2024, and it only takes 40 minutes to get to Huzhou Nanxun Station from Shanghai! Huzhou Nanxun Station The high-speed rail station is a convenient 10-minute drive from the hotel. 🏨Hotel: My stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Nanxun was full of pleasant surprises. The hotel's retro style evokes the charm of a manor. Upon entering the lobby, I was immediately captivated by the unique design of Four Points by Sheraton, especially the "Best Brews and Bites," located on the first floor. The classic retro craftsmanship blends seamlessly with modern minimalist design. Don't miss the signature Best Brews! Enjoy breakfast and afternoon tea in this stylish dining space! Four Points by Sheraton Nanxun, Best Brews and Bites The front desk staff were warm and attentive, efficiently arranging my room. I stayed in a lake-view room, each equipped with a large balcony overlooking the plum blossoms in the garden and the picturesque buildings in the distance. The gentle breeze and rippling water captured the poetic essence of Jiangnan. The room was well-equipped with comfortable bedding, and the afternoon sunlight streaming in created a cozy atmosphere. The hotel's gym, located on the first floor, is open 24 hours and features brand-new equipment. 🌃Night Tour of Nanxun Ancient Town: Admission to Nanxun Ancient Town is currently free! As night fell and the lights came on, I took a 10-minute taxi ride from the hotel to the ancient town. I couldn't wait to explore this enchanting water town. Strolling along the cobblestone paths, I passed brightly lit shops filled with local snacks and handicrafts. Crossing the ancient stone bridges, I watched as gondola boats glided beneath, their oars creating ripples in the water. The laughter of the tourists on board seemed to transport me back in time. The night view of the ancient town is characterized by its tranquility, a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of other popular ancient towns. Wandering through the alleys, I made sure to visit Baijian Lou, Baijian Lou, a row of houses built along the water, with white walls and black tiles reflected in the water. It was truly a sight to behold. I stumbled upon small tea houses by the river and settled down in a corner with a pot of tea, enjoying the gentle breeze and letting go of all my worries. This March weekend trip to Nanxun was made especially memorable by the newly opened Four Points by Sheraton and the captivating night view of the ancient town. If you're looking for a peaceful escape in the midst of a busy life and want to experience the charm of a Jiangnan water town, Nanxun is the perfect destination. You're sure to fall in love with this place.
