Emei Mountain 峨眉山 ～ Sichuan 四川
📌🚆 From Chengdu, you can take the high speed train to Emei station (峨眉站). From here there are buses you can take to various points of the mountain depending on your trip. We took a bus to the bottom of the mountain and started with the cable car. From here we hiked from about 8 hours to the second cable car which took us to the top. Please note the second cable car stops after 18:00 so if you don't wish to walk the last part, it's best to start the hike before 10am to be safe. 🏔🙊 There are some temples along the way and some cheeky monkeys! Make sure when you pass through the monkey areas, that you keep your valuables inside your backpack or pockets. Of course the biggest attraction is at the top of the mountain! I've visited here in both winter and summer, and I would highly recommend going in winter. The view is much more spectacular! The pictures posted are from my latest trip in Summer. 🏠 After the second cable car there are limited hotels at the top. Personally, I've stayed at the top twice and my favourite hotel we booked was the Jin Ding hotel. 🥢 The hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant however there is one just across the way from the hotel (1min walk), and the hotel provided free breakfast there. 🍎 There are many tiny shops along the way to the top that sells necessities such as water, snacks, juice, chocolate, noodles. I would suggest bringing light snacks of your own just in case. 📝 12/10 ~ highly recommend if you enjoy hiking! It's a tough climb, but so worth it for the sunset/sunrise!
