Introduction Beachcombing in Weihai

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate

In Weihai, beachcombing is a wonderful interaction between people and the sea, and it is a great way to deeply experience the seaside life. Weihai has a long coastline and rich marine resources, which provide unique conditions for beachcombing. The intertidal zone here is vast, the beach is fine, and the reefs are numerous. The different geological features give birth to a variety of marine life. When the tide recedes, the sea will show its gifts on the mudflats without reservation.

When beachcombing, you can start this treasure hunt with simple tools such as a small shovel, a small rake, and a small bucket. The beach area is the habitat of shellfish such as clams and razor clams. Observe the surface of the beach carefully. If you find small holes, it is likely that razor clams are hiding; the reef area is full of surprises. There are small crabs hidden under the reefs, oysters attached to the reefs, and colorful starfish.

Before beachcombing, it is crucial to understand the tidal time. Generally speaking, the sea water recedes far and fast during the high tide, and beachcombing at this time often yields more abundant harvests. Beachcombing in Weihai not only allows you to harvest fresh seafood, but also allows you to feel the generosity and magic of nature in close contact with the sea, experience the unique life fun of a coastal city, and leave behind an unforgettable seaside memory.

Weihai

Weihai is a quiet city situated on the tip of the Shandong peninsular. If you are seeking a relaxing trip away from the maddening crowds then I suggest a weekend here. Although the city lacks the facilities of the giant metropolises all over China, it does still have a vibrant CBD that will keep your attention for a day or two as you wonder around the bustling alleys and modern malls. Throughout the city the streets are clean and the pretty public gardens are well-maintained. But the main attraction is the coastline which stretches around hills that surround the city. Unlike many other Chinese cities, the coastline is still relatively unspoilt. One should take a hike along the paths along the hills and beaches to admire the Chinese coastline in its natural state. I advise anyone to take a trip there in summer when the city can show off it's flowers and greenery. It is a northern city so winters are cold and snow is common. #hiking#summervacation#beachvacation#hikingtrails

A great place to take your kids

A great place to take your kids

Day 1: At 7am, we went to Torch 8th Street (Figure 1). Although it is just a slope, it is a great place to take photos. After walking for a while, we rented a car and drove for nearly two hours to reach Hailu Island. It really lived up to our expectations. Groups of seagulls surrounded the cruise ship, which was so beautiful (Figure 2). (It is recommended not to buy seagull food in the scenic area. Either buy some ham yourself, or buy a small bucket of small fish on the cruise ship for ten yuan.) After leaving Hailu Island, we went to the Jinshiwan Art Park. The ticket cost 40 yuan. There were several seaweed houses inside (Figure 3). It is not particularly recommended to visit this place as it is not that beautiful. You can go down to the beach at the bend of Jinshi Bay. There are rocks there, and it seems to take only 30 minutes to get from Jinshi Bay to Naxianghai, but we just walked around and took some pictures. In the middle, we also saw a stranded giant ship, the Bluewest, as shown in Figure 5. It was already five o'clock in the afternoon when we arrived at Naxianghai, Figure 6. The first day's route: Torch 8th Street - Hailu Island - Jinshiwan Art Park - the beach and rocks at the bend - the stranded giant ship Blueways - Naxiang Sea. Day 2 I really liked the small fishing boats in Haiyuan Park, so I went to Haiyuan Park first (actually you can go to Maotou Mountain first). You can see the small fishing boats by walking up along the seaside boardwalk, as shown in Figure 7. The second stop was Maotou Mountain, which is about half an hour’s drive from Haiyuan Park. It is recommended to go directly to Observation Deck No. 3, where the scenery is the most beautiful, as shown in Figure 8. Then we went to Yuehai Park to see the lighthouse, where the children sat on the swings and played in the park playground for a while. It was so cool in Yuehai Park, especially when sitting on the swings, it was very leisurely! But the lighthouse is not very photogenic, as there are many people below at night, making it difficult to compose the picture. After visiting here, I went to Weihai Park to see the big photo frame. The two parks are very close to each other and it only takes a few minutes to drive there. There were people all under the big photo frame, making it difficult to compose the picture. At 4pm, we returned to the B&B and rested with the children until 6pm. Then we set off for the International Bathing Beach, which was a ten-minute drive from where we lived. The children had a lot of fun playing on the beach there. They could also swim there, and there were many water activities. The sunset was particularly beautiful. Here is a summary of the route for the second day: Haiyuan Park, Maotou Mountain, Yuehai Park, Weihai Park, and International Bathing Beach. On the morning of Day 3, we returned the car and took a taxi to Torch 8th Street. Under a big parasol, the children played in the sand while I drank coffee and enjoyed the sea breeze on a recliner. It was so comfortable. After lunch at twelve o'clock, we returned to the B&B to rest. At four o'clock in the afternoon, we set out to Xiaoshi Island to catch seafood. Although there were no starfish as we expected, the children picked up a lot of shells and experienced the fun of catching seafood. The sunset on Xiaoshi Island was particularly beautiful, as shown in Figure 9. Xiaoshi Island brought a beautiful end to our three-day trip to Weihai

Weihai Chunzhu Hotel: A Technological Wonderland

Weihai Chunzhu Hotel: A Technological Wonderland

Hey guys, I recently went to Weihai, and the sea breeze was amazing! Today, I want to share my experience at Chunzhu International Hotel (Weihai High-speed Railway Station Hanlefang Branch). The location is perfect, super close to the train station and Hanlefang, making it very convenient for shopping and dining. Here's my experience, hope it helps! 📷 Every shot is a masterpiece The hotel's exterior design is impressive. The lobby is bright and spacious, with a simple yet grand decor. What I loved most was the large window in the room. When you open the curtains, the city's scenery unfolds like a painting, and you can take beautiful photos day or night. 🛏️ A cozy little nest The room is perfect for family trips. We booked a family room, which was spacious and well laid out, with enough space for both adults and children. The bed was soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The room even had children's toiletries, showing great attention to detail. 💡 Smart living surprises The hotel's smart guest control system is worth mentioning. With a simple touch, you can adjust the lights, curtains, and even the air conditioning temperature. It's full of technology and convenience. This blend of modern and traditional design made the stay more interesting and relaxing. 🍽️ A foodie's paradise downstairs The hotel's restaurant is another highlight. It offers a wide variety of breakfast options and authentic seafood, fresh and delicious. For a foodie like me, it's like heaven! Plus, there are many local snacks nearby waiting to be discovered. Overall, I had a great time here and highly recommend it! If I visit Weihai again, I'll definitely choose this place to stay! 🌟

Maotou Mountain: A must-see on Weihai's most beautiful ring road. This is a must-see in Weihai, and it's my favorite coastline. The winding mountain road along the coast is breathtaking. The azure sea is tinged with a hint of turquoise. Maotou Mountain: As its name suggests, a mountain shaped like a cat, this is a must-see when visiting Weihai. Any photo taken from Maotou Mountain is stunning. Navigation: The most popular viewing platform for Maotou Mountain and the sea view is what's known online as "Viewing Platform 2," but Gaode Maps now shows it as "Viewing Platform 3," so be sure not to navigate to "Viewing Platform 2." Tips: The wind can be very strong at the viewing platform, so be careful not to get your hat blown off. 2. Check the weather before your trip, as the sea is truly blue on a clear day. 3. Go early in the morning when there are fewer people, and your photos will likely be mediocre. I recommend heading to Maotou Mountain after sunrise at Half Moon Bay. 1. Weihai is truly a relaxing city. It completely fulfilled all my fantasies of a coastal city.

Liugongdao, Weihai

Coming to Weihai wouldn't be complete without a visit to Liugong Island. To get here, you must come to the harbor in Weihai and purchase tickets using your ID card or passport. Then take a passenger boat out to the island. The trip across the bay is quite fast, around 20 minutes or so. You can get good views of the other boats, birds and the city behind you. On the island, you can use the tourist buggies to travel around, as it is quite a large place. Here you can go to a museum or can learn about the military history of this area, of which this island is very important. There are other points of interests to see also, including the fortreess, submarine, old buildings and a temple on top of a hill. Overall, you will need a day to do this trip, considering the trip there and back. The best time to come is Spring or Summer, with good weather and calm sea. #tripblazers #mytripvlog #2023travelwish

Weihai’s Romance of Snow and Sea

Weihai’s Romance of Snow and Sea

Winter in Weihai is the ultimate romantic realm where snow and sea intertwine! When snowflakes gently fall and embrace the ocean, Weihai perfectly blends the vastness of the sea with the pure whiteness of snow in every corner. Torch 8th Street is known as the “top spot” for post-snow street scenes. It is close to the sea, surrounded by reeds swaying in the wind, with colorful houses arranged in an orderly fashion. When it snows, the pure white snow decorates the street into a dreamy fairy tale entrance. Stepping on the snow shadows cast by the street lamps feels like entering an exclusive winter date, and every snapshot is a stunning masterpiece. Weihai also boasts a unique spectacle of “endless blue sea and sky, and a blanket of white snowflakes.” In the morning mist, swans elegantly spread their wings on the snowy ground, their white feathers complementing the pure snow, like a romantic poem nature has written for Weihai. Here, you can experience the surprise of snow-covered streets, the romance of swans treading on snow, and even ride the waves on snowy beaches to feel a different kind of winter passion. Come to Weihai and start a romantic encounter of snow and sea!
