This hotel is the most expensive and the worst hotel in Switzerland.
The location is a bit far away from the railway station, a 20-minute walk, if bus 15 can be reached.
The soundproofing of the room is not good, and the noise of the car outside and the children upstairs can't sleep.
Other hotels in Switzerland have free transportation cards, which he does not have.
The only good thing is that the capsule coffee machine is good

Like a homestay, with a separate kitchen, bathroom, living room, large space, complete facilities (except for cooking utensils in the kitchen may be lacking, such as the one we live in without a shovel, it is inconvenient to eat), clean and hygienic . You can pick up your keys on time and with your password. When you check out, you can put the keys into the key box. You have never seen a staff member. Going out is the 10-way tram between the airport and the Central Railway Station, which is very convenient.

The location is fantastic, just 2 blocks away from the tram and 3 stops away from the Zurich HB train station.
The building has a lift, so apart from the few step at the building entrance, no need to haul luggage up.
The room is small, but well equipped with stove, pots and pans, cutlery, kettle, microwave, refrigerator.
The bathroom is small and there is very little sink space, but there is a shelf on the wall and mirror box for you to put your toiletries.
The front desk closes at 6pm, and after hours check in was a little bit stressful, as I tried to call the after hours number and it was unreachable for 10 mins. The hotel had apparently previously sent the access code for the key box to my email, but as I had booked through Trip.com, the access code was sent to Trip.com and not me, and Trip.com did not forward me the access code prior to my arrival. Luckily, after 10 mins I tried to call again and someone finally picked up and I was able to get the access code.
Although my room was right next to the lift, it was pretty quiet and the soundproofing was good between the rooms. However, the soundproofing was terrible between the floors. When people upstairs were walking or pulling chairs, we could hear everything and sometimes it continued late into the night.
Overall, I would stay here again because the price was really good for what it was in the area. Also, front staff Ivory was very friendly and helpful.

The Limmathof was in the perfect location for me. It was less than four minutes’ walk to the main station, and steps from the trams (Central stop). I stayed in a single room with a single bed. It was adequate for my needs. The room also has a desk and chair and ample closet space. There is also a bathroom with shower. The hotel is very old fashioned. This is not a bad point unless you’re looking for mod comms. There is a power point where the tv is and one also under the bedside table. The rooms are very clean and there is maid service everyday. You can have breakfast if you want for extra money, although I didn’t partake. There is a luggage room, and restaurant inside the front door of the hotel. 24 hour main desk and Andreas was very helpful. The Coop supermarket is two minutes’ walk away which is very handy. I would definitely stay here again.

A great boutique hotel in old town Zurich. 6 minute walk from Zurich HB train station after our flight into Zurich. Front desk staff Sam was extremely helpful and very polite, spoke English very well. Very clean hotel completely updated and this location is AAA for restaurants and bars, and is also quiet for a great nights sleep. Breakfast was ample to start our day. Coffee was great and a good selection of meats, cheeses, cereal and juice. The chocolate fondue machine at the entrance was really neat!

Good value in a great location. We walked from the train station. Enjoyed an excellent breakfast while watching pedestrians and cyclists making their way to work and school. The beds were comfortable, the shower was hot and strong. The young man who checked us in was 5 star. Definitely recommend.

I was plagued with trepidation before staying at the Swiss Star California. I had read some negative comments on Google Maps and trip.com, and the dread of what might go wrong loomed heavy over me. However, as fate would have it, my fears were unwarranted - the hotel, or rather, the service apartment, turned out to be a pleasant surprise and surpassed my expectations.
The room was clean, well-equipped, and not too shabby. The heater functioned perfectly, which was a relief since it was a frosty February in Zurich. They had everything one would expect from a basic hotel room.
But here's a word of caution: after booking your stay, make sure to check your email. You will receive a message from the hotel, not just a confirmation, containing the passcode and room number. Without this information, you might find yourself stranded outside the door, with no one to receive your calls or help with check-in. Trust me; I know how it feels to be left out in the cold, frantically seeking assistance from Trip.com.
Furthermore, if you have a lot of luggage, you may want to pray for a room on the ground or first floor. Unfortunately, there is no lift in the building.
However, let's not forget that this is one of the most affordable places to stay in Zurich. With that in mind, who could realistically expect luxury amenities and top-notch service? All in all, Swiss Star California proved to be a pleasant surprise and an excellent value for the price.

I have spent 18 days working from JOYN Zurich so think this should be a fairly accurate review of my experience. For context, JOYN is new so may still be working through teething issues, but hopefully this is useful feedback. Pros; - Comfortable, well equipped rooms. I was in one of the largest apartments they offer and it is a good space to spend a lot of time - The kitchenette whilst small is workable and has most of what you'd need - Well located close to the airport and about 25 mins by tram to central Zurich - Nice bathroom and good shower pressure - Gym is good with nice new equipment - Very close to great supermarkets (Coop and Migros next door) - The communal spaces are lovely, including the central courtyard and roof gardens - Strong water pressure from the shower (although the drain didn't seem to be able to cope with the volume of water which meant potential overflowing of the shower unless carefully managed) - The room has a small dishwasher. There were two dishwasher tablets provided and these weren't topped up by the cleaners, meaning you'll need to buy more Unfortunately the cons are pretty significant though, particularly if you want to work from here; Cons - The wifi is atrocious. At best the speeds hover around 1mbps which isn't good enough for stable whatsapp or facetime calls, let alone Teams or Zoom work calls. I thought this may have been my room but is pretty much my experience in all the open spaces including the ground floor communal spaces (see screenshot from Speedtest). This makes it unsuitable for any work. - The cleaning services are a bare minimum. After one week they changed my linen and towels but didn't vacuum, sweep the floor, empty bins or clean the bathroom. After another 7 days they'd hadn't come to clean again and when prompted they said it would be cleaned that day (but it wasn't). On the 8th day I asked and again they promised to have it cleaned. Whilst I wouldn't mind cleaning myself, there is no vacuum cleaner, cleaning cloths or anything else in the room to clean with, so unless you want to buy your own, be prepared for it to get pretty dusty and the bathroom to get dirty. Cleaning also didn't include replacing the kitchen towels so you'll have to wash these yourself if you're staying for an extended period. - Other than the supermarkets nearby there is pretty much nothing else around Perhaps they're not used to guests having longer stays, but with cleaning services like this, it will become pretty horrible unless guests buy the cleaning products and do it themselves.

This is a good value 4 stars hotel with friendly front desk staffs. Check-in and check-out was comfortable and easy.
Very good location as Tram stop is just right outside the hotel and Tram 10 and 12 directly from airport and can transfer to Zurich HB which was very convenient.
Will highly recommend and can come back again.

A really disappointing experience, the aircon in the room did not work, we were given a double bed even though we had called ahead and were reassured that we had two twin beds. We got a room here as part of a package with Coldplay tickets so the room wasn’t booked directly with the hotel. This was the main reason we called ahead of our stay to ensure we had the correct bed setup - we are father and daughter so a double bed was not appropriate. When I phoned to confirm the person behind the desk said he was too busy with check ins and would call me back- two hours later and still nothing. When I called back the person I spoke to was rushing to get me off the phone, I confirmed that they had our booking and asked if we had a room with twin beds. The person I spoke to advised we had two twin beds and everything was fine, when we checked in after our concert this was not the case. The hotel was fully booked and the bed could not be split into two twins so we had to make do with a double. The room itself was very hot and stuffy, the aircon didn’t work - initially we couldn’t get it to switch on due to the finicky lock on the window but even once on it did not do much to cook down the room. The only positive thing we have to say really is that the breakfast was okay and staff did try and resolve the situation with the bed by coming to check if they could split the bed into two which unfortunately couldn’t be done. The shower was mediocre and there were no toiletries provided in the room - only some soap for hand washing. The shower heat was not consistent, it kept going hot and cold whilst in use. Overall I would not recommend this hotel, I am not sure how this is classed as 4 stars.

Outstanding
GGuest UserWe stayed here for 2 nights for the Coldplay concert and it was the perfect Zurich hotel. Super central, great rooms, great restaurants, great breakfast and great staff. Special mention to Peter and Gribo who looked after us very well on our first night at dinner and to Filippo who absolutely spoilt us with his very kind and attentive service when we got back from the concert and thought the bar and restaurant were shut, Filippo rescued our night! Will certainly return very soon.
GGuest UserHad a fantastic, albeit brief stay at the end of June 2023. Adler is centrally located in the historic heart of the city, but the double glazed windows block out any outside noise. I’m a super light sleeper, and we stayed on a Friday night, but didn’t hear a peep. That said: The room itself was tiny, but the view overlooking the square was charming. Very much a “what more do you need?” kind of vibe. The bed was very firm, and the pillows were very soft. For me, this is the opposite of my preference, but that’s personal, and I won’t fault the hotel. Elevator went out of order the morning of our departure, but they offered to carry our luggage down the stairs. This was definitely appreciated, as we were on the fourth floor. Also, I left my wedding ring on the nightstand, and upon realizing this, I called them: They offered to check, and called me back promptly to let me know they found it. No need to follow up, chase them down, bug them, etc. This was a great way to close the out transaction, and it left a very positive impression. I’d definitely stay again, thanks to the attitude of the staff.
WWei travelsThis is by far the best hotel we have experienced in Switzerland (among the 3 Star Hotels)
The location is great and it is minutes away from Zurich station by foot, which allows me to travel to various location as and when.
It is clean and spacious and the initiative to exchange the room cleaning with a free bar drinks (min 3 days stay) is a good initiative to protect the earth ( less energy consumption).
Drop key to check out is convenient and fuss free.
GGuest UserI don’t usually choose Holiday Inn when traveling. However, I ended up here and was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly and professional front desk, clean rooms, and low prices. The one drawback was that the rooms were too warm and the a/c was not working.
WWilson SamWe had a terrible experience on the second night of the stay:
We went out for city tour in the morning and when we come back to the room in the afternoon, our room is like being robbed, 3 out of 4 suitcases are missing, the bathroom is only half way clean, balcony door left open, most clothes hanging in the wardrobe are missing. I called front office immediately and i have been told that housekeeping had found the door of wardrobe is broken and has a risk of falling, so for safety reason, therefore, they have transferred our suitcases to the new room.
so here are the question:
1. Why there are only half of my belongings are being transferred to the new room? You either transferred all my belongings to the new room, but not just half of it, it is so scary when you back to your room which it is like a crime scene!
2. Is it normal for a luxury hotel to touch guest's personal belonging without permission of the guest?
3. If the hotel find it a safety issue inside the room, why do they still let the guest go into the room? That kind of put the guest in a dangerous environment that may get injured!
4. Have the hotel ever tried to contact the guest, by phone/email of such incident had happened in the room? or worst case, to stop me to get in to the room, when i passed by front desk before get back to the room? none of it had been done
In short, this is not acceptable for any hotel, not talking about Ameron is a luxury brand, the hotel has poor risk management, this is my first time using this brand and I don't think there will be a second chance, terrible experience and even on the checked out date, no one care to ask how was my stay.
GGuest UserLovely welcome and stay at Hotel St. Gotthard, Our rooms were well appointed with the most comfortable and cozy bedding! Tall ceilings and lots of room for giant suitcaes. Zaour at the Front Desk went above and beyond to help us with massage reservations and dinner suggestions. He was kind and patient and everything you would hope from a lovely hotel. Just up the street from the train station, the location was just perfect. We stayed 2 nights in September of 2022 and will definitely be back! Thank you!
MMIKOThe hotel is a little away from the center (15~20 min by tram), plus 4min walk to the station. The check-in was quick, although in proper Swiss fashion the check-in time is only at 3pm. Fortunately, we were allowed to move in earlier. The room is big enough, but if you have big suitcases it'll be a bit tight. The staff is courteous and helpful, and try to accommodate if they can. The breakfast selection isn't too wide, but it's well arranged and has most of what you'd expect. There's a proper gym (exceedingly rare) with enough equipment to satisfy all but the pros. However, it does get a bit busy at times. They also have a decent swimming pool. There's a workstation with a printer next to the reception that guests can use for free - perfect if you need to print out tickets. They were happy to hold our baggage after we moved out until our flight in the evening - much appreciated.
We paid about 125CHF a night for a standard room for two including breakfast, which is a good deal in Zurich. All things considered, there's very little to complain about. We had an excellent stay, and would love to stay there again.
GGuest UserWe arrived a day early for our tour and didn’t think our room would be available yet, but the front staff asked for 15 minutes to check with house keeping. We lucked out and our rooms were available early. 300ish room courtyard side which is only one floor up. Bit of noise from the other side of the hotel due to construction, but not noticeable in our room. Great air con or use the large windows. Shower very hot so you don’t need to set it too high. Bit more modern than my taste, but grows on you and not garish colours. Easy tram ride to the old town for site seeing or take a stroll along the river beside the part. Wonderful gardens. Breakfast is plentiful and can be chaos in the morning when there are three groups in the hotel. Suggestion: Move the centre aisle of tables half a foot to the left so the the aisle on the right when you face the food is a bit larger. Use the first table on the right for the bowls and plates. Helps out those that are shorter. The people flow is better when it is right to left since the coffee machines are on the left. We did this flow the last day in the hotel with our group and it was less congested at the coffee.
MMac-GHWhen traveling to European cities, we have found that being close to the main rail station is a must for us. This hotel is NOT near that main station, but is just a few blocks from the Hardbrucke Station, and within a block of the Schiffbau Tram Stop. Once we figured this out, we found it pretty easy to use the #4 Tram to get from this place to the major tourist sites of Zurich. If arriving at the Zurich Airport, the best way to get to the Hardbrucke Station is to use S-Bahn #16, that goes directly between these two places. If arriving in Zurich by train or bus, there are about a dozen S-Bahn trains going from the main station & Hardbrucke. Once at the latter, exit the station near the Hitzberger & the BretzelKoenig, walking underneath the raised highway towards Schiffbaustrasse. Turn left when you see the Schiffbau theater, and you'll soon be at the Ibis. This area is a former industrial area that has been turned into a residential / entertainment area. Thus, there is a grey grimness to the neighborhood, despite being close to several restaurants, two supermarkets, and a few places for entertainment. Wander around for a few minutes, and you'll find most everything you'll need to enjoy your stay. Ibis hotels are generally minimal amenities for a lower price, and this one is no exception. Our room had a half-bath, phone, hair-dryer, free wifi, and TV with over 100 channels -- about 21 in English. It was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Staff was efficient & professional. An onsite restaurant will serve a breakfast buffet for a price. Although many cities in Switzerland provide free transit passes to guests who stay in local lodging, Zurich is not one of these. You can use the Swiss Travel Pass or the Zurich Card to ride the trams to tourist sites, or just buy tickets or day passes at the vending machines at the stops. If you don't mind riding a tram to & from the tourists stops, this Ibis can be a more economical choice for your stay in Zurich.
GGuest UserYes, there is no hiding the fact that the Krone Pop-up has gone to great lengths to keep their prices as low as possible, but for the most part it is a well-run and comfortable base for short stays. The rooms and communal lounge are inviting, stylish and well-kept. The building is many centuries old, and traces its various incarnations are visible in these areas, giving it a quirky character. The views across the river to the old town are also beautiful. A hotel in this price category so close to HB is obviously a rarity, let alone one with nice perks like this. The WiFi was incredibly fast and stable. Late check-in worked perfectly. The hotel has a slick system for online check-in and the key dispenser at the entrance worked without a hitch. The Assistant Manager was really helpful and welcoming by e-mail in advance. To be fair, my stay was on a Sunday night, so the cleaning frequency may have been lower than usual, but the communal toilets and showers were not in great shape. They clearly are not designed for how intensely they are used, nor are they cleaned often enough for it. There's nothing worse in a communal shower than a moist shower curtain and no space to avoid it. Add to that the hair, sticky residue and grubby towel on the floor, and suddenly the room price doesn't seem like such a bargain. The solution is so simple: a pile of fresh floor towels and basket for used ones, plus some Mr. Clean for self-service cleaning during unmanned hours. The Soeder toiletries were lovely though! Arriving late on a hot day also proved to be unlucky, because I arrived to an overheated, stuffy room with no time to let it cool down before going to bed. The adjacent bar really is loud, but not much of a hindrance to sleep because it seems to close early (some time around midnight, on Sunday at least). The facing building across the narrow alley is very close and looks directly into the room, limiting the privacy and therefore how open you can leave the windows to let fresh air in. So, all-in-all the sleep quality was just too low. The heat, noise and lack of privacy made for a restless night. I just needed a place to spend 7 hours between my flight arriving late at night and then my train departing early the next morning, and the Krone Pop-up was the pragmatic choice for that. I wouldn't consider it for work trips - the sleep quality isn't good enough - but it could be a sociable, good-value base for leisure trips during the week.
