The Dufour by Hotel Schweizerhof Zürich

Zurich|0.59km from Cranberry Bar
Location: Excellent. It takes about 10 minutes to get to Zurich Main Station by train from Zurich Airport. This hotel is just across the road from the main train station, one or two hundred meters away. Room environment: Not very new, but completely acceptable. The decoration is relatively exquisite. The suite I booked has free minibar and snacks (except alcoholic beverages/wines) Service: Contact the agent with Ctrip in advance to communicate about early check-in. The answer is that if there is a room available, you can check in in advance. We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 am and the room was ready for smooth check-in; both the front desk and the door bellman gave us a very friendly feeling. ;After checking out, two bottles of mineral water were given as a gift. Room hygiene: There are two bathrooms in the suite. Toiletries such as toothpaste and toothbrush are provided. Samples of Swiss Dabao skin care products are also provided. There are welcome fruits and turndown service. Good night chocolates are also provided. Breakfast: The dining environment is not big, but the decoration is very nice. The service is also very nice. In addition to the buffet area, you can also order meals, both paid and free. Guests in the suites have champagne breakfast. Those who order for a fee are also free. You can also order a glass of champagne per person. Overall: In Zurich, where land is at a premium, I feel that the price/performance ratio is very high. The only drawback is that there is no view outside the window of my room. It is very close to the building opposite. The advantage of this is that it is relatively quiet. I will consider staying here next time I go to Zurich.

Park Hyatt Zurich

Enge Zurich|0.84km from Cranberry Bar
It seems clear to me that the quality of customer service in travel has greatly deteriorated in the last three years. I understand that service providers have trouble finding and retaining people and the ones they have often don’t seem to take pride in their work. Sadly, I’ve come to accept this as the “new normal.” Which is why our recent three-night stay at the Park Hyatt in Zurich was such a welcome surprise. Not only was our room clean and comfortable but the service we received, from start to finish, was efficient and personal. Just a few examples: We had a flight delay and airport transfer difficulty arriving to Zurich and did not get to the hotel until after 1:00. The gentleman working the front desk who checked us in, got us waters, helped with our bags and personally escorted us to our rooms. He was also working the next night when we returned to the hotel after dinner. He spotted us coming through the lobby and literally ran over from the front desk, greeted us by name and asked if our room was acceptable and if there was anything he could do for us. The housekeeping staff are a bunch of ninjas. You never saw their carts in the hall but we’d leave in the morning and when we returned in the afternoon the room was made up. Perfectly. We’d leave for dinner and when we returned the room was turned down. Perfectly. We had drinks the first night at the Onyx Bar. When we returned the next night, the bartender remembered both our names and our drinks. We interacted on several occasions with the daytime concierge. I wish I remembered his name. It wasn’t just that he was knowledgeable about Zurich and responded immediately to our requests. He acted like speaking to us was the absolute highlight of his day. I know these are all little things but they added up to a wonderful stay. Plus, the hotel couldn’t be more conveniently located. Staying at the Park was a luxury item for us but, let’s face it, traveling anywhere in Switzerland is a luxury item. I would return to the Park for their level of personal service in a minute.

Hotel Hirschen

Hotel Hirschen

Niederdorf Zurich|0.14km from Cranberry Bar
My brother in law and I stayed here for 2 nights. Our trip in 2020 was postponed due to COVlD so we finally got to visit in 2021. The Hotel is located in a lively square called the Hirschenplatz not far from the river Limmat. It's central location makes it a convenient base for sightseeing in the city. It's also a short distance from the Rudolf-Brun-Brucke tram stop. This tram can take you to places like the Grossmunster, Opera House, and Swiss National museum among others. Uber drivers are not permitted to enter the area in front of the hotel (just taxi drivers) so have them meet you near the river instead. It's a quaint, historic hotel which offers basic amenities. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and spoke great English. We got to meet Hector, an adorable little dog that often greets visitors. The hard working staff is the biggest selling point of this hotel. I requested an extra pillow and fan and received them in my room by the time we returned from dinner. That's great customer service. The room was very basic but clean. The bed was comfortable enough, more on the soft side the way I like it. My room didn't face the square which got noisy at night so I didn't have a problem sleeping with the window open. Like many older hotels in Switzerland there is no air conditioning. The temperatures were on the mild side during our stay so this was a non factor but I can only imagine what it would be like during a sweltering Summer day. A refrigerator would have been nice to store cool drinks. The only disappointment we experienced was with the breakfast buffet. The offerings were far fewer than similarly priced hotels during our trip. Like the other hotels we made a reservation for breakfast. The first morning there were no eggs and much of the cold cuts and cheese appeared to be gone. There was one kind of juice and it wasn't particularly good. Our waitress was clearly flustered with a British guest who was complaining about her tea. She shrugged as she revealed that the hotel experienced a large surge of guests and this was the reason for the depleted buffet. The next morning we had a reservation for a full hour earlier. Still no eggs. The excuse this time: ”well, we just got them!” with another shrug. Whether she was telling us the truth or not, who knows. We just both found her demeanor a bit disingenuous, as if she uses these explanations over and over. I realize COVlD has caused problems to many businesses and maybe this was the case here too. All in all it was a good stay. It's apparent the staff genuinely care about the guests and the hotel. Would recommend to anyone for a night or two in Zurich.

Hotel Platzhirsch

Niederdorf Zurich|0.16km from Cranberry Bar
I randomly arrived in Zürich a few days ago without any hotel reservations. I soon discovered that the film festival was happening and many places were booked. After doing some searching online and on the hotel tonight app I stumbled upon Platzhirsch. I saw something online about some rooms not having a toilet inside the room, but hotel tonight did not mention that was a possibility and having had a bad experience recently booking through an online site and having things be not as they appeared online, I decided to walk to Platzhirsch to figure that out before booking. When I arrived I met Fabine, one of the front desk attendants and my new favorite front desk person, I explained things to her (and by this time the hotel tonight room was gone). She was very kind, agreed to let me sit down and use the WiFi even if I needed to book somewhere else, and ultimately made sure I got a decent rate on a superior room as I was traveling alone and the rates are normally for two people. Throughout my stay she gave me advice on the city and was just generally nice and very accommodating. I stay in hotels constantly, and thanks to Fabine this was one of my best hotel stays that I’ve had all year. The manager Siggy was also quite kind and accommodating when I wanted to extend my stay, shuffling things around so that I could stay in the same room despite the fact that they were almost fully booked with the film festival. One note, this is clearly a 3 1/2-4 star hotel (and the inclusive minibar is a nice touch). I have no idea why google lists this as a one star hotel (and trip advisor a 3 star). Booking directly even gives you free breakfast, which as costly as restaurants are in Zürich this is a big deal. My one minor note/request is that they add soft boiled eggs to the breakfast rather than just hard boiled. I stayed here for 4 nights (and again I’ve probably stayed in hotels nearly a cumulative four months this year), and that is my one minor note (though this is more than made up for by the fact that they offer fresh pressed juice as part of the breakfast; regardless of what other reviews say, I had one or two juices every morning and was happily accommodated by whichever employee I asked). This is a nice hotel with a fantastic location and well appointed rooms, but the staff really makes this place shine. I will certainly be back the next time that I’m in Zürich. Thank you again Fabine!!!!

Boutique Hotel Helmhaus Zurich

The hotel is located in the old city of Zurich, in a good location, right next to the Grissmunster cathedral, across the street from the Limmat river, and convenient to every location in the old city. It is a 15-minute walk from the central railway station, and can also take 2 light rail stations. Close to Bahnhofstrasse, the service staff is very welcoming, in a hotel like Switzerland it is considered to be large, the room is still floor and very warm. Staying in the hotel has a touch of history.

It is very close to the Twin Towers Church. It takes only 15-20 minutes to walk to Bahnhofstrasse. The surrounding environment is very good.
Best Western Plus Hotel Zuercherhof

Niederdorf
Advantages: 1. The location is superior, and it is convenient to go to the station and scenic spots; 2. The sanitation is clean. Disadvantages: 1. The signal line of the TV is not plugged in properly, and I still fiddled with it myself. 2. There are not many things for breakfast. You can order omelets for free, but the restaurant will not tell you.
Marktgasse Hotel

The room is quite big, very clean, the toilet is super big. Hotel location is great. Look at the city center. One minute is the tram stop. You can buy a 1-day traffic pass at the hotel reception. However, the small roads in Zurich are all bumpy small bricks.
Hotel Adler Zürich

Had a fantastic, albeit brief stay at the end of June 2023. Adler is centrally located in the historic heart of the city, but the double glazed windows block out any outside noise. I’m a super light sleeper, and we stayed on a Friday night, but didn’t hear a peep. That said: The room itself was tiny, but the view overlooking the square was charming. Very much a “what more do you need?” kind of vibe. The bed was very firm, and the pillows were very soft. For me, this is the opposite of my preference, but that’s personal, and I won’t fault the hotel. Elevator went out of order the morning of our departure, but they offered to carry our luggage down the stairs. This was definitely appreciated, as we were on the fourth floor. Also, I left my wedding ring on the nightstand, and upon realizing this, I called them: They offered to check, and called me back promptly to let me know they found it. No need to follow up, chase them down, bug them, etc. This was a great way to close the out transaction, and it left a very positive impression. I’d definitely stay again, thanks to the attitude of the staff.
