We had a very enjoyable weekend at this hotel. Yes it’s very outdated and could do with a good clean-up but the positives far outweigh the negatives. Location is beautiful .... nice and quiet with great walking routes right at the back of the hotel. Parking was fairly tight but we discovered an overspill carpark at the back where the shed is and where you can lock up your bikes for the night. The rooms themselves are typical Fletcher style ..... blue carpet with brown furniture but nice and spacious. Very comfy clean beds with coffee and tea making facilities. Nice small balcony to open the door and let some air in. Took a while to find a hairdryer and still wonder why they have it hanging and wired up under the television. No fridge in the room. The bath was very welcoming when you see how small the swimming pool is ..... however I did wonder how an elderly person could climb up into the bath to take a shower seeing there were no slip mats on the surface ..... lethal for an older person or somebody with a disability. Breakfast area very spacious with plenty of available tables and as for the breakfast itself, it was excellent. Anything you wanted was laid out and the cook behind the counter was constantly making up fresh eggs and bacon. Reception staff were constantly busy but very friendly and helpful. Overall really enjoyed it.

We had a very enjoyable weekend at this hotel. Yes it’s very outdated and could do with a good clean-up but the positives far outweigh the negatives. Location is beautiful .... nice and quiet with great walking routes right at the back of the hotel. Parking was fairly tight but we discovered an overspill carpark at the back where the shed is and where you can lock up your bikes for the night. The rooms themselves are typical Fletcher style ..... blue carpet with brown furniture but nice and spacious. Very comfy clean beds with coffee and tea making facilities. Nice small balcony to open the door and let some air in. Took a while to find a hairdryer and still wonder why they have it hanging and wired up under the television. No fridge in the room. The bath was very welcoming when you see how small the swimming pool is ..... however I did wonder how an elderly person could climb up into the bath to take a shower seeing there were no slip mats on the surface ..... lethal for an older person or somebody with a disability. Breakfast area very spacious with plenty of available tables and as for the breakfast itself, it was excellent.
