Health and Safety inspectors ought to visit this establishment as soon as possible. We stayed in Room 3 which was accessed from a courtyard which was used by the many cats roaming around the place as a toilet. Cinders and ash were scattered over the cats’ mess but by morning fresh piles had appeared. The room itself was very cold and damp with mould growth on the wall and a gap around the doorframe through which we could see daylight. There was no heating. In the bathroom the floor was unpleasantly stained and there was no soap on the wash basin only a fixed container in the shower cubicle. Mercifully, we were only there one night. Boasting 4 stars? You’re having a laugh! Avoid at all costs.

My understanding is that this hotel was built at the end of the 19th century as part of an olive oil mill, repurposed as a hotel in 2004. All the rooms are a bit different. Ours had a sitting area downstairs and bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Some rooms were all on one level. LOTS of kittens milling about. Limited hot water in each room and if you turn off the blow dryer, you have to wait a while before it will work again. Very nice staff and a beautiful pool with scenic views. Nice breakfast. Quiet.

I loved it. It might have been a bit old, but what a beautiful location and ambiance. We had room 8 which was a nice size. It had a small sitting area, with desk and small refrigerator. Plenty of places to set luggage. There was also a good size bathroom with bidet. Sink was a pedestal, but it had a small shelf to the right for toiletries. Shower had great stream, but did not hook up on wall. We had wonderful 3 windows in the room, so I could wash some clothes and hang them in the sun. There was water and granola bars in the room when we arrived. All nice touches. Bed was very comfortable as well as the linens. We did ask for a blanket which wasn't in the room, but the hostess found one without a problem. Loved the view from the pool, and enjoyed all the walkways and history of this gem. The Bougainvillia and jasmine were blooming and you could smell them wherever you walked. Cats everywhere, but the whole place was so clean and neat. So many different rooms to experience....the bar, breakfast room, big casual lounge and the restaurant. I especially liked the stone arches and walls throughout the Hacienda. You could tell it was old, but they have definantly put a lot of work iinto resurrecting it.

You get what you pay for. This is a simple old worn but decent option. The rooms are small but clean. The furnishings are old and basic. It has local flavor and some charm. This is more like a 2 star motels with a nice staff and a decent eating. area. If you are traveling on the cheap this is fine.

Great place. Very quiet. Beautiful view from breakfast spot. Cordoba is an hour away and Zuheros itself is very charming. The room we slept in was very spacious, clean and nice and cool, the staff was friendly and the Hacienda itself exudes a lot of atmosphere. It is true that some attention is needed here and there. The toilet at reception was filthy on arrival and the tap was dripping, for example. The breakfast is ok. There were around 12 cats running around, not counting two newborn kittens. We thought the cats looked good, were not aggressive and we saw that they were fed, but they were everywhere outside. For example, if you went to get your t****th round of breakfast, someone had to stay behind to protect your plate. Are you allergic to cats; I would not do it.

The hacienda is very "rustic". You have to love country life and cats. The room and breakfast were fine. The staff don't speak English, but communication worked anyway. The room was easy to heat. There are a huge number of cats in the area. You have to love that. Unfortunately, the cats' droppings in the area were not cleaned up quickly.

The farm is very well located but a little neglected, it looks like a cathole. The room had an unpleasant smell of a fireplace, poor cleaning, very very dim lighting, the shower with little pressure…. The wifi does not reach the room. The dinner was good, the girl who served us was very attentive and correct. There was no lactose-free milk at breakfast. In short, not recommended. Immaculate

This old olive farm (with former cheese factory) is a large complex with all kinds of corners and terraces. You can get lost, but there is also a lot to discover. Beautiful views from the roof terraces (where you can also have breakfast). Much of it was also in need of a makeover when we arrived at the end of winter. Cleaning the moss from the smooth tiles or replacing broken flower pots, it all could have been done. But old and creaky also has its charm. The rooms have spacious windows and balcony doors. They are also spacious themselves. But there is still little light (also electric) in the room itself. There were also few pillows on the bed, but there was a nice sofa in front of the fireplace. The bathroom is a bit narrow for two people. The tap and the toilet kept dripping or you have to turn it very hard when closing. A nice warm boiler which was also necessary at the end of winter in the mountains. We enjoyed a great dinner both days we were there. Good food in a beautiful old space. Friendly staff everywhere. It was still a bit too cold outside for breakfast, but there was a wide choice of things and coffee from a real machine that they made for you on the spot. It is a great place to explore Andalusia from here in all directions and then return in the evening for a delicious meal. And only two kilometers from the white village of Zuheros and the hiking gorge.
