A fantastic hotel. I usually don’t like staying in big hotels as they tend to be soulless, but this one was really special. From the fresh cucumber face mask to the hot soak for your feet, they are incredibly thoughtful and kind. The service is fantastic. They were really helpful to us as foreigners, highly recommend!

The hotel is still in the trial stage and will be officially opened on the 9th. It can be seen that the hotel investment owner is a person with strength, feelings, and his own preferences. He has his own property and a customized hotel tailored for him. The corridors, functional areas, and the length, width, and height of the room are practical and atmospheric. All the materials used are relatively high-end, and the entire decoration style is Chinese. Breakfast was also carefully prepared. Some ingredients were expensive, such as prawns and shrimps, but unfortunately there were no fried eggs. The biggest shortcoming is that only the hot air conditioner in the room is open, and the temperature is very high, which affects the quality of sleep. At night, I can only expose my feet outside the quilt when I sleep. I called the front desk and the answer was that there was no cold air cooling, only hot air conditioning, or turn off the hot air conditioner, but in fact it couldn't be turned off. The temperature inside was too hot, which neither saved energy consumption nor reduced the experience.

Just completed a wonderful three night stay at the Zhangye Holiday Inn. Perhaps most Silk Road tourists do not spend three nights in Zhangye but we wanted to visit both the popular and more “off the beaten path” historical sites nearby. This Holiday Inn is up to international standards - the staff was very professional, courteous and well trained, the rooms were modern and well-maintained, and even the buffet breakfast restaurant manager spoke English. This is probably one of the few (if not the only) more Westernized hotels in Zhangye) and we had a very good stay and experience in this hotel in Zhangye.

This place was so nice and super clean/tidy with a very cute aesthetic. There’s a resident cat named Pudding which is a nice novelty, and the hostel is in a great location walking distance to plenty of food, shops and sights. Rooms are spacious with big windows and the owner is so helpful. She speaks English and will send you a list of food recommendations for the surrounding area. They also helped us arrange plenty of sightseeing for a good price! Had a wonderful stay and would gladly go back. Make sure you try the beef “rice” from the list, it’s so good!!

Look at the pictures. The hotel is indeed OK, but the hygiene and details are very poor. I think this level of hotel should not be like this. First of all, the toilet. There are a lot of yellow stains in the toilet and bathroom. OK, if it is said that there are frequent water use, I can barely accept it. Then the mold on the wall and the stains on the exhaust fan, I think the hotel is not cleaned properly. Then there is the bed quilt. P4 is the pillow. There is a hole directly rotten on it🤣 P6 is the quilt. Black stains, and it is on the veil. Also, there is a window that was broken when we just entered the hotel, as shown in the video. In the end, we studied it ourselves. Finally, there are the ladies at the front desk here. When we first entered the hotel, we asked to see the room and asked about breakfast. I don’t know if the front desk was in a bad mood or too busy at the time, or maybe I was too sensitive. I don’t think her eyes are very friendly. Later, I called the front desk. My first feeling from her words was impatience. I understand that everyone has their own emotions, but I don’t accept the experience that makes me feel uncomfortable in the service industry. We stayed 4 nights at the Runhu Hotel while we visited all the tourist attractions around Zhangye, including trips to the Gobi desert, Ping Shan Hu (Grand Canyon), the Alien Valley and other sites. The hotel - which is clean, spacious and quiet - has motivated employees who are happy to meet any request. The restaurant is actually very good with reasonable prices the buffet breakfast also was varied and of very good quality. The hotel also provides such services as nightly warm milk deliver and a foot soaking tub with epsom salts with no extra charge. The hotel also referred us to a driver with his own very nice and well kept car. He, Mr. Li, went way above and beyond what anyone could expect. He provided snacks, fruits, water and some sort of local soft drink and arranged tickets in advance where reservations were required and made sure to adapt those reservations when the weather closed one of the sites. His recommendations for local food at or near the various sites were also spot on. While the places were simple (and very inexpensive), the food was honest and good. You can bank on Mr. Li to make sure everything goes along smoothly. All you have to do is tell him what you want to see, or ask him for recommendations, and he will do the rest. In short, splendid hotel for the price with terrific service and if you need a driver, Mr. Li is your guy!

We had a great stay here. It is clean and comfortable, and conveniently located in the centre of the city, with all major attractions within a 15 minute walk (Mingqing street; drum tower; Big Buddha temple; wooden pagoda and the connected square [lots of people dancing in the mornings and evenings—a must see!]). The receptionist was very helpful and friendly too. The hostel also organised affordable transport for us to and from Danxia rainbow sand dunes (50¥/person) and Mati temple (70¥/person); note that this is 1/3 of the price charged by private drivers or tour agencies! A good place to base yourself to explore Zhangye and nearby sites.

I forgot to take pictures. Apart from other things, the service is very good. The reception is warm and friendly. The child wet the bed the night before checking out, and the sheets were dirty. The kind uncle said directly, it’s okay, they can just change it. I was very touched. The sister at the front desk also gave the child a bag of dates. The room was very clean.
