Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan District 4-star Hotels

This homestay has an amazing view of the national park. The room was clean and cleaned daily. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful pointing us in the right direction and giving us suggestions where we could go. We had no issue in booking a Didi waiting only a couple of minutes. Location is great as you are only a few minutes from one of the park entrances. Breakfast was simple and we enjoyed being able to pre book dinner and be messaged when it was ready. Our only suggestion is the menu could be varied and some maintenance is required to keep the hotel looking 100%

Look no further and book MaoSao Inn if it is available! It is a great hotel full of charm and character with nice & cozy designed room. The pool view is great even though it was too cold to be used in end October. But what makes the difference at this hotel is definitely the couple who owns it - they are so nice & helpful! The guy helped me book all the entrance tickets and advise itineraries to visit the spots around. They are really great people. The hotel is also well located, 20min walk to the park entrance (or you can take bus 1) and literally just around the corner, there are plenty of restaurants and food stalls at night.

I appreciated this hotel, particularly for the location, in front of the park with Tianzi Mountain. The room has been also good with the large terrace with bath tube. Last but not least the kindness of the people working there always available to give you advices for the places to visit as well as riding you directly to the entrance gate or the taxi stop.

The hotel is definitely worth its 4.9 score. It’s located a bit far away from the main entrance but next to another exit which is less crowded. Our room had an excellent view and a nice balcony. You have to be careful with the choice of the room because some of them overlook the mountains and some of them overlook a little hill so you basically look at the grass and trees. The owner of the hotel was very patient and tried really hard to understand our broken Chinese. He helped a lot with the routes and other activities you can do in the area.

I can not praise this hotel enough, it is FANTASTIC! First of all, when I made my booking, a lovely lady (Tang?) connected with me on Wechat. She gave me lots of information, answered all my questions and helped to plan our itinerary. She also offered to purchase our tickets for the National Park in advance. As it turns out, you can no longer do this, but the offer was very nice and thoughtful. When we arrived at the airport, I phoned her and she helped to direct the taxi driver from the airport to the hotel. Check-in was easy and she helped us both get the local QR health codes, which you need to access everywhere in the National Park. The hotel itself is beautiful. Located near the top of the mountain, 5-10 minute walk away from the south gate to the park itself (and a much quieter entrance than both the east and south-east gates). We had a room overlooking the hotel entrance, with a mountain view (everywhere up there is a mountain view!). It was large, clean, with a great shower and a very comfortable bed. I had read other reviews about the hardness of the bed, but ours was super comfortable (Room 8207). Great TV too, with a good choice of programmes. Believe me, after a long day of hiking, it was nice to put our feet up and just unwind. Tea, coffee, water and fruit are provided (coffee has creamer in it, so if you don't drink milk, bring your own). There is also a lovely swimming pool - we had a refreshing swim one evening after a long hike, surrounded by the spectacular view. There is a restaurant in the hotel where you can get evening meals - we are vegan and so Tang helped us to choose vegetable dishes, which were delicious. There is also breakfast included. For us, the choice wasn't so great, but if you do not have any special dietary requirements, there are noodles, bao, sausage, egg, vegetables & fruit. The hotel is great, but I have to say that it is the kind, friendly trea**ent by everyone there that makes it very special. Each day, Tang would ask us our plan and show us the best route on the map. She also arranged for someone to drop us off and pick us up when we ventured to a different gate. We speak no Chinese at all, and English at the hotel is limited, but with the help of a translation app, we had no problems at all. And the friendliness of everyone is almost overwhelming. I highly recommend this hotel and would DEFINITELY stay here again. *Small note - if you suffer from travel sickness (as I do!) be warned that this area is full of winding mountain roads, so take some sort of medication or trea**ent with you.

Very good hotel, highly recommended. The location is very good. It is very close to the Peugeot and East Gate of Wulingyuan, Zhangjiajie. It takes about 10 minutes to walk. There are many delicious food on the roadside. It is 300 to 500 meters away from Zhangjiajie Charming Xiangxi Performance Site. It is very close and convenient to go straight out. Zhangjiajie Eternal Love 3.5 You can also walk for about 10 kilometers. The hotel rooms are large and spacious, and the park is designed with a great water system and many green plants. It is recommended that those who come to Zhangjiajie can stay here for two days. The air is good. It is also very close to the bus station. Turn left when you go out. It is about 300 to 400 meters from the bus station and goes directly to the entrance of Zhangjiajie West Station. The journey takes about 26 minutes. Each person is ¥ 13 Extremely convenient.

Nice cozy hotel, very clean. Big and comfortable rooms. Very convenient location, the hotel is just next to the bus station from where you can take mini bus to all popular destinations in Wulingyuan, and the entry to the Forest Park is only a ten minutes walk away. Very friendly hotel staff which speaks some English. Breakfast is a pretty basic Chinese one (eggs, buns etc.), some fruits would've been nice. Only disadvantage is that the walls are like paper, i. e. you hear all the noise from the other hotel guests, which is especially a problem during the National Holidays when there are a lot of families including children and grandparents, they use to shout very loud, starting from 6 AM in the morning until 10 PM at night. This is a general issue in China but not the hotel's fault.

Friendly and quietly located hotel. Immediately on arrival, you feel more like a family member than a regular hotel guest. The hotel is beautifully located a little “of the beaten track” but close to Zhangjiajie Forrest Park entrance. You can take a 10 min walk to the park entrance or the hotel will happily take you there by car. The hotel is clean, modern and offers most things you can wish for. The staff is extremely helpful for any requests you may have. This side of the park is less busy and we found it very convenient to visit Avatar Mountains with less people to fight with. The stay is also much more genuine than staying at one of the bigger hotels. If you plan to visit Tianmen Mountains, the location is a bit distant but transportation are available on requests. We truly had a great experience.

My wife, toddler, and I loved our four-night stay at Lanting. It is closely situated to the east gate of the Wulingyuan scenic area. The breakfast was extensive (all Chinese cuisine) and the restaurant decent, too. But the best part was their service. All of their staff members were eager to help in any they could. One hotel employee (Xiao Ting 小婷) provided daily recommendations and itinerary plans that allowed us to maximize our time. I highly recommend it!

I stayed there four years ago and was impressed by the warm service, unique decoration and convenient location. This was my first impression of Zhangjiajie, and it left me with precious memories and wonderful happy times. When the elderly travel to Zhangjiajie this time, they must book Suoxijia. Of course, the service is still great. The area around the hotel is very lively. It takes 12 minutes to walk to watch ”Charming Xiangxi”. The starting price of a taxi to Forest Park.
