I travelled as part of a shearings 4 night coach trip. We arrived late into the evening thankfully check in was very quick and painless. The entranceway to the hotel is lovely and has a pleasant outdoor seating area, although mainly used by the smokers I had a room on the 2nd floor with a nice view of windmill. My room was spacious, although fairly basic, but it had everything I needed. This included a kettle, coffee maker, and fridge. Unfortunately, only paper cups available which weren't replaced for the 4 days so I had to rinse these out. The beds were comfortable enough and the room had 2 chairs and a table. There was a lift. No issues with the room Unfortunately the same can't be said about the rude staff in the restaurant. On the bus we were asked if we wanted to book an evening meal this was 3 courses, I didn't want 3 courses. No other options available so that night we tried to just go for a meal in the restaurant. The older gentleman shouted at us saying we should have booked via the coach driver we tried to explain we didn't want 3 courses but was told to go away. Needless to say we walked into town just a couple of minutes away and had a lovely meal. If they don't want to serve the burgers which are displayed on the tables then don't!!! Thankfully there is an Aldi nearby and the lovely town with a couple of food options is only around a 10 minute walk away. Although the breakfast was lovely I really can't see us returning or recommending this hotel. I would suggest going somewhere with nicer staff who actually want to give good service

We stayed here for 4 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. A spacious room with comfortable bed and a generous breakfast spread. Evening meals offered but we walked into the local town, 10 mins walk away. Very quiet on Monday and Tuesday. More restaurants open Wednesday onwards. Friendly staff throughout stay.

If you want the experience of staying at Fawlty Towers please visit this hotel. the rooms were basic spacious and clean, but the restaurant was diabolical. the wait between courses was horrendous. We had our soup then waited for almost 2 hours for 3 salads and a Burger.Any complaint was met with derision, the prawn and salmon salad had raw prawn on it after the menu stating grilled prawns. The tour drivers complained after waiting 2 hours for their meal, this led to no breakfast being available on the morning of departure, apparently it was their fault because of their complaints it had upset the chef!! This is not professional or acceptable. Meals were not as described on menu, pot luck as to what you might get, with the answer from the maitre de if something was missing from your meal perhaps it has run out.
