I stayed here on my first trip to Switzerland.
I had a corner room with a great view of the Matterhorn,
and was seated with a view of the heated pool and buffet. The service, hotel, and location were all excellent.
I'd like to come again.

This time I booked two Matterhorn rooms for two nights with my three children. I think the decoration style of the hotel is classical and natural. It is perfectly combined with modern facilities without any sense of inconsistency. The waiters are gentle, patient and considerate. It is the best choice to appreciate the Matterhorn!

An amazing resort with five-star accommodations, service, and incredible views... simply breathtaking! Many thanks to the staff for helping to make our anniversary one to remember for a long time. Cheers to Stefan (and David for the warm welcome on the resort tram) from the Concierge Team for the excellent communications and assistance, to Raymond as well as Toby and Mauro for their kind service at Restaurant Alexandre, and to Katrin for taking wonderful care of us at Ristorante Al Bosco. The Riffelalp isn’t just a hotel, it’s an experience. Understated elegance and luxury, well appointed rooms, 3 onsite restaurants, cozy bar and a fabulous spa with an outdoor thermal pool. Skiers going by stop to look at it with envy. Arrival is swift and uncomplicated. Luggage (and you if you wish) are whisked from the station to the resort by skidoo but I recommend you take the short walk up through the forest and drink it all in. It was my 6th visit over 24 years and still feels ultra special every time. Just a few points to note: - At 2222m you may experience some dizziness and headaches while you acclimatize. Drink LOTS of water and use the humidifier provided in your room - Ski in/out is great however the last run down from Riffelberg is a hard red. Section next to the train line is steep, extremely narrow and snow piles up each side making it even narrower. Some skiers go through there at high speed. Not for the faint hearted - I’m a good intermediate skier and it scares me when I see the number of crashes. @riffelalp2222 please, please try to do something about it so your guests can use the ski in facility safely and with confidence.

Amazingly special place, understated elegance, fabulous service and an unrivaled location. Beautiful rooms, great food (reasonably priced), the spa and outdoor thermal pool are unique. Super base for ski in/ out centrally located for access to the whole Zermatt ski area without buses or walking.
