Nestled high above Zermatt, the Riffelhaus 1853 is accessible via the Gornergrat railway, making the journey itself an adventure. Once you arrive, you’re greeted by panoramic mountain views in every direction, with the iconic Matterhorn standing proudly in front of you. The setting is perfect for ski-in/ski-out access in winter and stunning hiking trails in summer.

The rooms are cozy, modern, and well-equipped while still maintaining a classic Swiss alpine charm. Many rooms come with Matterhorn views, and waking up to this scenery is an experience in itself. The beds are comfortable, and the rustic wooden decor gives a warm, welcoming feel. Some rooms have balconies, which I highly recommend booking for the full experience.

The room is clean and tidy, right above the Matterhorn. We booked a room with a Matterhorn view, which you can see by opening the curtains, and you can also go out to the balcony to see it. There are many types of breakfast, and dinner is a fixed appetizer, and you can choose the main course yourself, and there is also dessert after the meal. The taste and presentation are good. The best hotel I have ever stayed in during my trip to Switzerland. Take the train from zermtt and get off at Riffleberg station. After informing the hotel front desk in advance, someone will help you with your luggage. The reservation includes two meals, and the food is good. The main reason is that the scenery is really worth it, plus there are hot springs and saunas, which are very comfortable and comfortable. I recommend it as your first choice when visiting Zermatt.
