One couple with two friends and two birthdays. First time skiing after 30 years and a complete novice. This Hotel is in a perfect location for all amenities and ski lift. We were so lucky with the most fantastic weather. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming and the food was just perfect. I'd be scared to return as we couldn't better this first visit!

Great hotel in the center close to the Postplaz bus stop. Very friendly hotel, with comfortable and very clean rooms. The food was very good, and we enjoyed selections at breakfast and evening meals with the correct portion sizes. Homemade soups and the salad buffet at dinner are delicious. Very friendly staff and highly recommended hotel.

Stayed here for a week with family in Jan ‘25. The hotel is a beautiful traditional Austrian style building, absolutely stunning, the location is right in the centre of the town, great for wandering the gorgeous streets, ski lift approx 7 minutes walk away. The hotel is family run and they were all very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, continental style breakfasts and 3 course evening meals which were all great. The bedrooms had loads of wardrobe space and were a decent size too, the beds were a bit too firm for me, the only downside I’d say was the showers which were very unpredictable, they ranged from freezing to boiling quite quickly so you had to be careful, we called them experience showers! 😆 I would recommend this hotel and would happily stay there again.

Fantastic location in centre of town and main lifts to ski less than 3 minutes away. Was B & B and so many very good restaurants within easy reach to choose from. Room was spacious and spotless, cleaned every day with fresh towels.Warm and comfortable. Bathroom small and if you are 34 + waist you might struggle getting in/out shower via sliding door. Super wi-fi throughout hotel. No English channels on tv. If booking with Crystal no tourist tax to pay as its included with your booking. Ski room could do with a couple more benches but that's my only observation. Particularly liked the bar after a day on the slopes. Breakfast was very good but same cooked options every day - boiled or scrambled eggs.

We stayed here between the 28th December and the 4th January, half board. The hotel is very clean and the food is excellent. However, the choice is limited to 3 menu options each day. Usually an Austrian dish, an ‘international’ dish, and a vegetarian option. On one of the days, my daughters did not like any of the options, and so the chef prepared a simple pasta dish for their evening meal. It was delicious and obviously not from a jar! The deserts are simple but delicious, with ‘unlimited’ ice cream and cake. Also, many thanks to the waiting staff, particularly Boris who looked after our table wonderfully during our stay. Unfortunately, tap water with the evening meal is charged at 3 Euros. That is for each jug of water too! Although this is standard in Austria, I think charging per jug is taking it too far. The rooms are simple, clean, and very comfortable. We were on the third floor 309/310. The heating is often set too warm at night, but the radiators can easily be adjusted to suit. A good amount of storage space for clothes and ski-wear. The bathrooms are small and basic. One of the main reasons for knocking a point off the score in this review would be the shower. Trying to control and set the water temperature was impossible. Left running, it would fluctuate between freezing and boiling within seconds without adjusting the shower temperature at all. We did mention this to the hotel manager. She is aware of it and has had plumbers look at it, but it is still a big problem. Another point to note is that one of the main advertised features of the hotel, the basement bar, is closed. We did ask, and apparently the person who ran the bar had left, and there were no plans to open the bar this season. It’s a shame, because it was one of the main features that attracted us to book this hotel. Hopefully the bar will be open again next winter. It should be noted that the hotel does have a small bar at the front at street level. This bar is very nice, but small and fills up quickly in the evening. It would be nice if the hotel provided tea/coffee and cake on return after a day on the slopes. This is often provided by hotels in ski resorts, and such a simple gesture would make a big difference. Surprisingly, Hotel Lebzelter don’t do this. Hopefully, they will start to do this for its customers, it would make a big difference. The location of the hotel is very good, situated nicely near the centre of town, and close to the bus ‘station’ if you wish to travel to Kaprun or Saalbach to ski, or the 71 bus to the main Zell am See lifts. Also, not far from the City Central gondola lift. We do plan to return to the hotel, and a few small changes to the hotel would improve it so much and give it full marks.

Unlike previous reviews I had a poor experience at this hotel from 21-28 December. The noise from the front facing room was unbearable - noise from shouting people early hours of morning to bottles being collected three times a week at 4.30am. I asked for a balcony room and paid extra for it but I did ask if it was quiet. They couldn’t move us as the hotel was full. The worst part was the evening meal - small portions for adult men in my family and unappetising meals. For eg a nice rainbow trout was served with plain pasta and a few roast tomatoes, chicken wings so unsubstantial with some potato wedges? Soup was good and cheese station was the same every evening (just 2 choices of cheese) with a few grapes. I didn’t try the desserts. Breakfast was good. Maybe go for bed and breakfast and a room at the back of the hotel? It is handy for the gondola and Zell is beautiful. Greet skiing but I won’t return to this Hotel.

Just returned from the Lebzelter Hotel in Zell am See, and it was truly a magical experience! The staff go out of their way to assist, and to make you feel very much at home in this excellent family run hotel. The food and service was outstanding, the rooms are very comfortable, and the views over the lake and across the mountains were just spectacular. We stayed a week, but would have loved to have extended the visit. We will certainly return and tell everyone about this very special place in Austria. Thank you to all the fantastic staff for making it such a wonderful holiday!
