We loved this place. While very old, they have done a great job with keeping the old world charm, while updating comforts, such as updated bathroom, shower, outlet in the drawer under the sink for my hairdryer and the best beds and pillows. The hospitality was fantastic and as we were the only guests our first night there, we were upgraded to a beautiful suite. A short walk to the lake, full of swans and ducks and possibly the best apple strudel of the trip! We liked it so much, we purchased a gift certificate for our son and daughter in law to use this spring, as a Christmas gift.

We stayed 3 days at the Schloss Prielau and it was the best decision we had made during our holiday travelling around Austria. The property is amazing including the surrounding area. We had all the comfort and luxury that we needed. The host Anette Mayer really contributed to our enjoyment. She is a most gracious and active host. We recommend this property.

This is such an adorable place, the rooms are cozy and you feel like you’re staying at a friends home. The amenities are great and if you enjoy the outdoors, you’ll love this place. I can’t even start to explain how comfortable the bed, comforter and pillows were, I actually asked for the brand, I need them at home. All of the above is great but…. The icing on the cake was the friendly and accommodating staff. When I checked into my room there was some dust on the bed frame and the the lady who I complained to just stopped what she was doing and took care of it herself. I have never experienced such a genuinely nice staff. We were there for a party and everything went beautifully and ran late. The staff never made any of the guests feel unwelcome, even when it was 3/4am.

A lovely romantic valentines meal in a beautiful typically Austrian castle. Excellent food , fast and professional friendly service - nothing to fault - would love to go back and try the Michelin 2* restaurant. It took us about 35-40 minutes to walk there along the snowy lit frozen lakeside path from zell. This was lovely and we got a taxi back into central zell that the castle staff kindly ordered for us . Nothing was a bother - highly recommended

One of the best hotels we had been staying! Our room was spacious and beautiful. The atmosphere of this place is fantastic. And they have a private lake area, the best place to enjoy Zell am See at the quiet area. The breakfast is excellent and for dinner, you must try their Restaurant - Mayer's Restaurant with Michelin Star quality, absolutely GREAT!! This hotel is also dog friendly! Best experience! Meine Frau und ich hatten einen runden Hochzeitstag und wollten einmal was ganz Besonderes machen. Und es war etwas ganz Besonderes. Wir hatten ein tolles, großes Zimmer mit allem Komfort. Das Frühstück war exzellent. Die Chefin, Frau Mayer, und Ihre Mitarbeiter haben sich rührend um uns gekümmert. Besser geht´s nicht. Wir kommen wieder.

Waren zum dritten Mal als Gäste im Schlosshotel. Frau Mayer, die Gastgeberin, ist wirklich Wirtin mit Leib und Seele. Es ist eine Freude hier als Gast zu sein. Wir sind große Fans von der Küche im MAYER’s Restaurant. Andreas Mayer ist einfach ein Künstler und seine Kreationen umwerfend. Vielen Dank an das ganze Team. Wir kommen gerne wieder im nächsten Jahr.
