PROS: -Location is great in downtown beside train station and all other transportations close to many restaurants and the lake. - Value for money without breakfast. - wide rooms. - classic boutique style, I liked their furniture. - Friendly staff thanks to the Greece lady who checked me in. CONS: - They take extra fees for summer card not like in other hotels in zell am see. - staff shortage, receptionist serving bar , Resturant which was weird for me. One man for everything. - no elevator for the highest floor but it's fine if you want more quietness as lower floors has too much noise coming from bar. - no view for most of the rooms or at least the room they booked for me. - Poor expensive breakfast . - Barman was too friendly/not professional joking loudly with his colleagues in German Infront of guests.

We went for a 5 day ski trip. The hotel is central in the old town and a short walk to the local ski lifts up schmittenhoe. A shorter walk to the bus station which has a free shuttle to other local ski resorts including the Glacier which was around 30 minutes drive. There was an outside storage for ski’s/ boots and boards which was locked. On arrival to the hotel we were greeted by friendly staff and our room was upgraded to a suite. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The curtain situation was a little odd as there were only net curtains meaning the room could be seen into in the evenings if lights were on. Not overly looked over though. Beautiful views of the mountain. The breakfast was lovely with a nice selection of continental food. My husband is Gluten free and the kitchen staff went above and beyond to accommodate his requirements with a large selection of Schar products including cereal, bread and cakes! The only complaint was that there was a faint aroma of sewage on the ground floor. There is a small spa area on the lower floor but we did not visit this.

Went and used the cafe for lunch. Do not have to be a guest at the hotel. Great service- very quick and spoke excellent English- in a really cute setting. (The setting of it makes it) Nice coffee and enjoyed my toasted bagel. Good wine list. Selection of cakes and puddings as well.

Review of the Apartmenthaus The apartment was fine. We were lucky that we visited off season, as the hotel is right in the middle of the old town and parking is extremely scarce, but in October we could park right behind the hotel, and could see the car from the apartment. Read the instructions for arrival on the hotel website and do not trust the directions in Google as the pedestrian zone plays havoc with the navigation. I cannot stress this enough. Do not enter the address into Google enter the square mentioned on the website. The apartment was large and quiet - the town was windswept, rain-drenched and deserted, so there were certainly none of the party noise problems I have read about in other reviews. The wifi was erratic and there seemed to be no staff on the front desk most of the time, but the location is great and the apartment would have been ideal for a longer stay as there was a kitchenette with fridge and dishwasher. We didn't use the sauna and wellness as there was never anyone on the desk when we tried to ask about it. Breakfast was average Austrian three star breakfast with cheese and ham and rolls, but with a cappuccino maker.

The hotel has a great location and the room was really cosy and comfortable, but the best part was the staff - Niki was incredibly helpful and friendly from giving us tips on where to eat, what places to explore, and taking advantage of the hotel amenities like the sauna and spa. Niki was the main reason why we decided to extend our stay for 2 extra days! Make sure to find her when you come!

My stay was made wonderful by the warm welcome of the reception and the most cozy of rooms. The bedroom and bed were of maximum comfort, the bathroom spacious and very clean. The girls at the reception were very informative when answering my questions on Zell am See and the ski area. Definitely recommend staying here! The breakfast too offered a plentiful buffet and a pleasing dining room. Will defined visit again!
