Had a very good stay at this hotel, rooms are spacious and is ideally located in the town centre and near the gondola for skiing. The breakfast was excellent. The room had everything you needed with a decent size bathroom and was cleaned every morning. An ideal location if your going skiing.

We are a family of 6 adults who have just stayed 5 nights for skiing and had 3 comfort rooms. The hotel is in a great central location with an easy walk to the City Express gondola. The rooms were large, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. I have read the other reviews re the noise from the street and if that is a problem, I would suggest a back facing room. Also, once the balcony door was shut there was no noise. I am not sure what the hotel can do to stop the late night noisy party goers but in all other aspects, the staff were friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. Anna was fantastic in looking after us on arrival and the breakfast room staff were great. Special mention to Monica. The breakfast food was fresh, healthy and lots of options. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and stay there again.

A great hotel, in the centre of the village with lots of options to choose from. Welcomed by a happy, well trained team who cannot do enough for you, be spoiled, Monika you are super. Remember & visit the Sister hotel the Romantic just over the bridge, a log fire & bar with a homely Austrian feel. Bed & breakfast, bed only, dinner, bed & breakfast, when you do not know what a day on the mountain, apri ski what is going to turn out, what a great choice to have. A added bonus is the new cocktail bar Mixerei on the ground floor with a lively atmosphere, lovely staff & what a choice on the bar menu, you can also eat there what is there not to like, go upstairs to your bed & dream of your next day, here we go again

Hotel in great spot, short walk down to the lake and short walk up to the nearest lift. Shops, bars & restaurants right outside. Came here for the skiing and wasn't disappointed, experienced ski traveller so seen it all over the years. Wouldn't hesitate staying here again. Great price for our stay(with Inghams) Simple hotel, lovely and clean, helpful reception(spoke good English) Great rooms, I stayed in the top room overlooking the front street with balcony for an early morning coffee or end of day drink. My son's were in a rear room with similar facilities and small 'Juliet balcony' Both rooms were clean, warm and comfy with TV, fridge & kettle. Good bath with overhead shower and separate WC which was great as I was sharing with son. Breakfast was incredible, self service and had everything you could want, fairly large & spacious breakfast room so enjoyed that every morning. We were B&B so didn't have evening meals, but I belief you take those in the 'sister hotel' a 2 min walk round from the front of the hotel or though a linked walkway from one property to the other. 4 out of 5 stars Lost a star because of 2 Possible negatives: During our stay the bar area next to reception didn't appear to be open so your either having an apri ski drink in your room/balcony or of course stopping at one of the many spots on your way back from the lift. The rooms overlooking the main street get noisy! most nights during our stay. so if your a light sleeper forget it. I didn't mind too much as I can remember being young and apri ski I imagine it would help a lot if the hotel fitted some Double glazed doors/windows on these fronts rooms. opt for a rear room if the noise will offend (were talking loud drunk party goers).

The hotel and staff were great. Breakfast buffet each morning was plentiful, with a lot of selections. Our room was cozy but because it faced the front promenade, it was very noisy (until the wee hours of the morning). It seems reasonable that it would be loud until 9 - 10 pm; but 3 am is excessive (Maybe the hotels could get together and put in a noise bylaw after a certain time?). I would suggest a room at the back away from the front street.

The team at the Hotel Fischerwirt were extremely helpful, kind and friendly. As it was our first family ski vacation, I was worried the new surroundings might create tension with my teenage travelers and partner. But no! Stefan to the rescue. The wonderful manager had no problem adjusting the television in our room and locating additional pillows for each of us. We asked nicely of course. Our rooms were cleaned daily and the entire hotel was spotless and charming. We had breakfast at Fischerwirt every morning. The tables are reserved by room numbers which makes for a cozy and regular structure. We enjoyed reading the daily newsletter which not only shared the day's ski weather report for the mountain, but also provided fun facts and even daily riddles - which, if you answered correctly, got you a chocolate from reception as a reward! Monika, the grand dame of the dining room, runs a tight ship. And she ought to - as she came out of retirement after 35 years with the hotel - to "help out" as she told us. Elena, one of the newest members of the team from Croatia - was smiling and very helpful as she helped my partner and I book a massage over at their sister hotel - The Romantik. The central location and friendly service of the Fischerwirt will definitly bring us back again. Thank you for helping to make our first ski holiday a fantastic life-time memory. Kindly, Gina

Great lively location in the centre of Zell am See, just 5-10 minute walk to the gondola station. It can get a bit noisy at night as there adequate a few bars in vicinity. The rooms are nice and spacious with modern bathrooms. There is a hairdryer but if you relay on using one I would recommend bringing your own as it isn’t very powerful The hotel is connected to the Romantik hotel where we had our breakfast and dinner (some people had breakfast in Fischerwirt). The bar in Romantik is nice with a huge fireplace and typical Austrian decor. There are lots of props and pictures/posters showing the history of the hotels and family - a nice touch. The staff are all incredibly helpful and friendly and it really has that feel of a family business, run by people who care. Breakfast was a nice little buffet with plenty of choice. Dinner was often a little buffet for starters/desserts and main courses had to be pre-ordered at breakfast. The menu sometimes sounded a little restrictive or unappealing but the food was actually really lovely every single night. We had a vegetarian child in our group who was also a bit fussy and she did struggle.. perhaps a few more veggie options would help. My only negative comment would be around the temperature. The rooms and restaurant were really hot. Don’t dress too warm for dinner and bring ear plugs to deal with the noise at night if you want to open the balcony door. I would definitely come back to this hotel and highly recommend it.

An excellent hotel albeit a little unusual and quite noisy outside at times. The rooms were clean and the staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful. We were all a little tentative going to dinner due to having only 3 options to choose from, but the restaurant are very accommodating to the fussy eaters and you are able to ask for something different!
