Aparthotel Los Girasoles

Old Town
Great location, just minutes from most of the major attractions, Restaurants and the Bus to/from Delicias Station is right outside. Entrance Foyer is very much like a Hotel. Good Gym, but Pool wasn't available as it was too cold, even though their website said it was. We had a large Apartment on the 1st floor. At first glance it looked really nice, but after a few minutes, you realised that it was of very poor quality - Kitchen was old, cheap Crockery (pyrex), pans with broken handles; you had to run the hot tap for over a minute before any hot water came out - a tremendous waste of resource, especially with a drought in the region. It took 2 days for someone to come and open the inroom safe for us. You have to ask for the basic of appliances - Kettle, Toaster, etc. Bathroom extractor fan did not work and there was no visible signs of a smoke detector either. There were works of some sort going on, but we weren't pre-warned of the noise. We complained several times to the Staff, but they didn't seem bothered. Even the Manager laughed at some of our issues. They did buy us some new pans - I can only imagine, that the 'spare' pans they did have for other Apartments were of the same poor quality, so they had to buy us new ones. Overall, a great location and the Apartment had a very comfortable bed - alas, the quality of the Apartment was very poor and nowhere near the expectations of a 4* establishment.
Hotel Hiberus

Hotel Hiberus is maybe the best choice to stay while in Zaragoza. Rooms are quite big with most of them having magnificent view of the city, the bridge or the swimming pool. Breakfast had a wide variety of choices for all desires, while most choices served in the restaurant for lunch or dinner were also pretty good. The hotel itself is huge and can host conferences, receptions or ceremonies in its halls. Price to stay is considered reasonable with its quality and offers. The only negative was the slow wi-fi available in rooms (at least for me in the first floor).
Hotel Marivella

They're not pet friendly, with a caveat. They do have two rooms at the other side of the truck parking which has spotted in everything and in which the hot water takes ages literally more than 20 minutes to arrive, but for a night stop with your pet it's more than adequate and for the price it's really is unbeatable. The staff are really very nice apart from efficient and they did provide a secure parking space for both my car and my trailer which is a plus when you're traveling on the road and stopping in the middle of nowhere. The fact that they have and/or run a truck stop adds quite a bit of security as far as I am concerned. This concern also extends to the owners and workers. As mentioned, I got a secure enclosed parking for my car and trailer. I also noted at breakfast that they had stored others guests bicycles instead of them having to leave them on their car mounted trailers. This is a definite plus. Breakfast is ok, even if they don t seem to offer hot food, of the like of eggs, etc Definitely recommended.

Hotel Alfonso

Old Town
The hotel is good, quite large and modern and located in the city center and it is easy to get anywhere from there. The rooms are clean. And quite large, the beds are comfortable, and the shower room is a comfortable bath, and the service at the reception is excellent, But we were not given a cleaning service for the room on the first day, someone forgot us or didn't pay attention, Similarly, the air conditioning in the room is not easy to operate, and the TV did not work, and the TV news channels in English did not work until after our request, a technician was sent to turn on these channels for us. Similarly, the colored furniture is organized without matching colors, and there are lamps that do not work and flicker. It is a shame, because with a little Attention without large financial expenses, the place can be more attractive and convenient for customers, which brings more customers

From the reviews I had high expectations of this hotels but, having travelled all over the world, this is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. First of all, it’s dirty. The cleaners don’t do their job properly and the hotel is filthy. It was almost like the hotel wasn’t cleaned at all. Secondly, the air conditioning in the room doesn’t work and Zaragoza is very hot. So be prepared for no sleep. They keep the room at 21 degrees minimum and you can’t get it lower. It’s unbearable. I had no sleep the entire time I was there. Be careful about the pool. They make a big thing about advertising the pool but it’s only open a few months of the year. Finally, the staff are very rude. I tried to complain about the above but they simply didn’t want to listen. They were very aggressive, particularly front desk representative Angel. Even the General Manager’s response was rude and aggressive which reflects very badly on the Melia brand. Not sure if this particular hotel is Melia owned or managed but the service is not what you would expect from this brand. Many of the Trip Advisor reviews are false. Look it for the small number of reviews. All in all, one to avoid.
