Zante Sun Resort

On first impression hotel looked amazing arrived quite late got told there was food at the bar but we didn’t get it just went to our room. Was abit difficult to find our room and had to carry the cases up and down a few steps. Room was nice just basic bathroom and was a double bed with single bed for my daughter. We had abit of trouble with the shower not draining and flooding the room but next day they came and sorted it. There is 3 pools one of them you have to go through an area at the back but the 2 main ones are ok. Do not try and reserve beds as they will move your towels which was quite funny to watch people come back and find there towels at the pool bar and not on the beds. The main pool bar has a choice of drinks ranging from alcoholic, fizzy, juice, ice tea, hot drinks and cocktails there is some drinks you have to pay for. There is no entertainment in the day or night so bring plenty of games if you’re staying in at night. Food was ok had plenty of choice but if your fussy then you may struggle, puddings were nice. Theres a couple of restaurants next door and a shop straight across from the hotel. Theres main town area is about 30 mins walk which we used google maps and put McDonald’s into it and followed it. You can also get a taxi. Staff were lovely and very hard working. If you want a lovely chill holiday then this is the place for you. We went for a walk out the back gates and the beach isn’t too far also out the front if you turn right you will come to another beach and a little island you can go on to over a bridge you have to pay to get in.

Not a long journey from the airport. Check in was fast and efficient. We had 2 rooms that accommodated 3 people in each. The hotel was spotless and the staff very polite. For us as a family the only thing that let the hotel down was there wasn’t a great choice at meal times (all inclusive) for children. There were no pancakes or waffles served at breakfast which we have become accustomed to at other hotels when on an all inclusive package and very little for fussy eating children to choose from on an evening. (No chicken nuggets or pizza etc) The all inclusive drinks (cocktails) were an acquired taste.. there was no usual “s@x on the beach or pina colada.. just a large list of made up cocktails that to me tasted like alcoholic Ice pops. There is no entertainment on an evening and no music playing around the pool. ( which will be heaven to some people) The walk into Laganas isn’t the best as there are no footpaths when walking on the roads and if you drop down to follow the beach you end up walking over stones/rocks in places and either have to walk through the sea at one point or walk up hill through a beach bar to join the road. This is a lovely hotel but unfortunately the food aspect has ruined it a bit for us.

Hotel is very modern and clean, the rooms were lovely and the food was great alongside the all inclusive cocktail menu. There is a shop across the road from the hotel for anything you need and the hotel is within walking distance of the main Zante ***** about 15/20mins walk, you also have the harbour and cameo island on the door step of this hotel, only slight let down would be that the hotel is very quiet and laid back so if you are abit of a louder bunch this may not be the hotel for you or even a family as there is no entertainment and the all inclusive bar shuts at 11pm every night.

Fully enjoyable week. Hotel spotlessly clean. Staff friendly and approachable. Food ok. No entertainment. 3 pools. One hid at the exit through the hotel. Which I preferred. There is a bar and a restaurant just outside the main entrance. The main street is only a 5 minute walk away comprising of nice places to eat and drink. Aghios Sostis is quiet so if you prefer plenty of clubs and bars Laganas is not far away.

Lovely hotel spotless, but a lot missing as provided with all other A/I I've stayed in. The hotel is the cleanest we've stayed at with excellent friendly hard working staff. ROOMS are nice, with plenty of storage and excellent bathrooms with walk-in showers. SWIMMING POOLS - there are 3 pools, the largest one isn't too good for getting the sum, so we used the small oldest pool as this was a little sun trap BEACH - this is located out the back gate by small pool, just a 5 min walk, but if you like the beach, you will be disappointed as there is only a very narrow piece of beach EXTRA's - You have to pay room tax, which is advised as 3 Euro's per night for a 4 star hotel, as we stayed for 11 nights I expected to pay 33 Euro's, but was charged 77 EURO'S!!!! You have to HIRE pool towels, we weren't prepared to pay extra for this, so luckily read this before we went and took our own. In all the years of all inclusive we have never had to pay for pool towels. Safe - You also have to pay for your safe - so again, we didn't bother Water - there is no bottled water provided, so had to purchase bottles from the shop at a small cost Check-Out - On the day of check out we were told that our A/I ended at 11am as we had been supplied lunch on our day of arrival. We were offered to extend this at an extra cost, but declined and went out to eat giving the locals our money instead Sky Bar - Not part of the A/I, but you can pay for drinks in there - we declined and drunk in local bars instead DRINKS at the hotel are awful, so syrupy and sweet and served in plastic cups unless in the restaurant. Once again you can buy different drinks if you so wish. Having said that the beer is palatable. It's such a shame that there is only 1 bar to use, which is the pool bar and it gets very busy at times, leaving no tables to sit at RESTAURANT - on first arrival we found the food good, although not very warm. Breakfast is a let-down not having an omelette station as having had in all previous hotels we have stayed in. Not being a tea or coffee drinker I usually have a hot chocolate on a morning - this wasn't available. I was ill for 3 days and then couldn't stomach going back into the restaurant to eat again. It's such a shame as this could be a fantastic hotel, but it seems that the owners are trying to cut down on costs. I wouldn't recommend the hotel and would definitely not return due to the extra's charged for. The Village is lovely and great for a walk and drink in the evening. OK Corrall is a fantastic bar owned by a great guy that makes you feel very welcome and he has a great sense on humour

Firstly, the one and only gripe re this hotel. Contrary to what it says on Jet2 being a beach front hotel it is not. Contrary to what the hotel states, saying that the beach is only 80m away, again is stretching the truth. But like I said this is literally my only issue. This is a modern, spotless and friendly hotel with excellent food. Rooms Modern and clean with towels replaced daily and the room cleaned everyday as well. There's a shallow fridge in the room as well as a safe. The rooms are air conditioned working off your key card and only when the balcony door is closed. You only get one key card so you can't keep the room cool for your return but having said that our room was cool enough when we got back. Food and Drink I can honestly say that the food we had was spot on. Plenty of choice for all meals and varied each day in the restaurant. The pool snack bar serves from 11am until 5pm. Burgers, chicken burgers, fries and toasties are made to order but there is a selection of salads, quiches, frsh fruit and desserts to be had. The pool bar inclusive drinks are good but the Sky Lounge serves exceptional cocktails but these incur a charge. Ask the bartender 'Baboo' for one from his recipe book as opposed to the menu. A 'Tingly Feeling' or 'Captain Jacks Jar' are excellent. Baboo was brilliant and obviously loves his craft. Beach The beach I previously mentioned is nothing to write home about. However there is a really good bar there called Kui Bar. You're best turning right as you walk out of the hotel down to the harbour, turn left and follow the coast line until you reach Laganas Beach. Two sunbeds, table and umbrella range from 10 ro 20 Euros for the day. We used sunbeds from the Mediteranean Beach Hotel where there pool bar served ice cold Mythos and excellent food. We visited several times and they were always happy to call us a taxi back to the hotel. It's a 12 to 15 minute walk if you choose to do so. We'd walk there and taxi back. Taxi was 15 Euros. Eating out If you turn left out of the hotel and walk about 50m you'll find El Greco taverna on your left. This is a family run business and is exceptional. The seafood is excellent and for 8 Euros you receive a 1 litre copper jug of Greek white wine which is good. Supermarket As you walk out of the hotel there is a supermarket directly across the minor road with everything you could wish for. Even though all inclusive there is no water provided for your room so this is an ideal place to pick some up. Trips / Cameo Island You will see alot of 'Happy Traveller' stalls dotted about selling boat excursions. After checking them out on Tripadvisor we stayed well clear but there are plenty of other tour operators in the harbour. Therr are also loads of small speed boats tou can hire for your own trip as well. Cameo Island is a right turn out of the hotel down to the harbour where you'll find a rope bridge across the sea to the island. 5 Euros gets you in and your photograph taken which th
