Castelli Hotel All Inclusive

My partner and I stayed in a swim-up room from late September to early October. What we remember most is the warm way we were received and continued to be made to feel welcome every day. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. When we couldn't rent the e-bikes that were included in our stay, they arranged for us to get a car instead, which allowed us to see the whole island. They put little treats such a cocktails and a bottle of wine in our room while we were out, always with lovely wee notes. Castelli also has a selection of beautiful jewellery from local artists, and the staff helped us select and wrap up the gifts for people at home. Food: the buffet had plenty of options, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and homemade. We especially enjoyed the custard filled dessert, I think it's called Bougatsa, and I love the sauce they used for vegetables and chickpeas and such (I'm vegetarian so didn't eat the meat). The room: we had our own little pool! The water flows into the other pools next to it, but everyone was very respectful of each other's privacy. The only thing I struggled with was getting my book to the bed on the other side without getting it wet, but there were plenty of other places to sit and lie down. We were lucky in that we had sun almost every day, and it was 25-27 degrees. The terras outside the room was sheltered from the wind, so it actually felt too hot at times! This week was a gift we gave each other for our anniversary, and as such we kind of kept to ourselves. We didn't join the activities, but so many did look fun. If you're looking for a bit of a sense of community, you can definitely find that here. Or if, like us, you just want a week sunshine, food, and the chance to explore a new place, then you can't go wrong with Castelli. This week was honestly the best gift. Great hotel but not suitable for us. Fabulous welcome and all the staff very efficient and friendly. Shown to our room and initially thought ‘great’ as we were in the new block. Good size room, did lack storage (mainly drawers or shelving in cupboard) but it was manageable. The real downside was we were by the side of a very busy & loud road. The ‘garden view’ we were expecting was a gravel courtyard but it was far too noisy to sit out on balcony. Food was of good standard but after a couple of days felt very repetitive and we ended up eating out for the remaining nights. Lack of seating on an evening outside- the chairs in the vineyard were uncomfortable and some were broken. We like to sit out and play cards but not enough lighting. It is a lovely hotel overall so would depend on what you want from a holiday. Great location for getting to harbour and main area - we only ventured here during the day but was comical and ‘eye opening’

We stayed here one night due to our Tui flight being cancelled. This is a hotel that knows what it’s doing. A family business oozing with charm, great service and a level of customer service that’s hard to find. We met two of the family that owned the hotel and they were both charming. Turns out the previous 7 days were had stayed in one of their other hotels which was equally as good. Good food, lovely atmosphere and I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for your service.

Brilliant place and location. The food was very tasty and of good quality. Very peaceful for relaxation. Never any problem getting a sun Bed. Personally I found the sunbed a little low for getting off but if you moved to the head rest it was easy. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. I will certainly be returning.

All hotel staff extremely friendly and go out of their way to help. Swim up room nice but our room smelt mouldy. Did not see any other rooms but not convinced the extra cost was worth it. Bed was comfy. Not so good is the small bathroom /wet room. No door on shower so always flooded & slippery and had to use all the towels to mop it up. Only 5 channels on TV, nothing in English (World news would have been nice). WiFi hit and miss depending where you are. Food mediocre, lukewarm and not much choice. Beer OK but red wine was just bearable and local spirits weak. I would imagine that before the 2 extra accommodation blocks were built the hotel would have been perfect and bijoux. So many people that sometimes in the evenings we had to wait for a table to become free in the restaurant which was frustrating especially seeing tables with reserved on them !!!!!
