I stayed at Hotel Slisko for two weeks in total and it was amazing! I feel like ”part of the family” to be honest as everybody in the hotel is very welcoming and heartwarming people. The rooms are very nice and the location is perfect as it is close to the city but at the same time in a very calm place. In the morning you can have a very nice breakfast and in the evening you can enjoy the best pizza in the restaurant and a cold drink, served by the friendliest guys that actually like talking to you and have good sense of humor too! If you go to Zagreb - stay at this hotel! You will not reget it!

The location is great. You can go shopping right away! Although the hotel is relatively old, it is very clean. The room is filled with the smell of soap as soon as you enter! There are not many types of breakfast, you can order bread, ham, eggs and a small amount of fruit! Overall not bad

The hotel location and surrounding restaurants were good and the rooms were well organized I stayed for 2 days, but the bed and towels were cleaned and replaced. The unfortunate part was that the toilet space was narrow and the bathtub was high on the floor and height, so safety was required

Just wonderful hotel! Highly recommended! We got exactly the rooms we booked, including an extra bed. The rooms are beautiful, state-of-the-art clean and spacious. You can see they've thought of every detail. Breakfast is great, varied and very tasty. The hospitality was courteous and serviceful. And the internet is excellent. What more could you ask for? For sure we will be back again on the next visit to Croatia.

The name “Central Hotel” is a bit misleading because the city center is not nearby. It’s perhaps walkable, but the street to the center is not inviting for a stroll. The hotel is across the street from the train station, and next to a city park which looked lovely. The front desk staff recommended a restaurant nearby which was delicious. Our room was oddly configured, with a twin bed at opposite sides of the room reminiscent of a dorm room.

The President of Turkey was visiting at the same time and although some side streets were closed we eventually arrived to the garage. This did not affect the service of the staff as they were just as helpful as usual. The decor of the hotel is very attractive and the room was very clean. The breakfast is amazing with a huge selection of breakfast foods as well as cooked items, cakes, vegetables, etc. You can be reassured if an item is left in the room from your trip it will be taken to the from office and reported. We forgot our passports and my jewelry in the safe only to discover them when we tried to check in Rovinj. The front office had tried to call us however we did not have service driving over the mountain. We returned to pick them up and everything was accounted there. What an awesome hotel!

What began as a suspiciously underpriced, gorgeously designed, epicentrically located property with heart and smiles for days...turned into a psychotic, abusive nightmare, like something straight out of Rosemary’s Baby. Never in all my days, in all the hundreds of properties and thousands of nights in everything from backpacker hostels to five-star suites, have I been subjected not simply to bad service (fixable) but outright and unrepentant hostility, harassment and torment by the staff. Unbelievable. As the gentleman and professional many know me to be, I in good faith detailed the infractions, called for a GM meeting, recommended simple solutions, had multiple follow-up meetings, and presumed the offending micro-tyrants would be disciplined and neutralized. They weren’t. It only got worse. And worse still. Think, stalking, door slamming, man-handling my iPad (verboten), shorting guest change when paying by cash in the bar (witnessed multiple times), having aggressive security called for eating in an otherwise public area five minutes beyond a theretofore unknown “rule,” asking me repeated and pointedly “how long I would be staying...” you get the idea. So, in the end, I cancelled two weeks of reservations (which would have been expanded to 6+) and protested with my feet. I left. A day out and I STILL feel emotionally winded, unsure of what I just witnessed. All I know is that if my behavior to a client or guest even approached this, I’d be – and should be – terminated on the spot. This was not the decision of management. But maybe it’s me. Maybe this is Croatia’s version of adventure travel. Not enough to make me fall out of love with Zagreb...but close. Interesting world.

Stayed at Hotel International with a Costsaver/Trafalgar group tour on June 18, 19, 26. A very good location as it is situated in a quiet area but if you walk 20 minutes you are in the center of the action of Zagreb with parks, restaurants and shops. Just around the corner from the hotel is the Milnar Bakery. You can find all kinds of delicious baked goods to take on the go and very reasonable. Tried the tasty Mexican Chicken Roll 11 Kuna and the Burek with Apple 10 Kuna. They open at 5:30am and closed on Sunday. At the Hotel International their breakfast buffet is very good. They open at 6:30 am which can give you an early start to your day. A very good choice of breakfast dishes-scrambled eggs which were so tasty AND NOT WATERY, bacon, zuccini, assortment of cheeses and cold cut meats and so many other choices, delicious assortment of breads and rolls. Those rolls with the seeds, out of this world delicious. Wish I new what those rolls with the pumpkin seeds are called as would love to buy them back home in Canada. They also had fresh fruits and a nice display of fruit cocktail. They have a dispenser that you can get juices and cold water. The fruit juice was very refreshing. The room was on the small side but it served its purpose. The room and bathroom very clean. I liked the idea that the bathroom had a packaged soap provided as I found out in other hotels that the soap dispensers are so hard to squeeze out the liquid soap. It was great that the room had a fridge and there was a complimentary 1 liter bottle of cold water in the fridge.

The hotel is pretty good in terms of value for money, but one thing is that booking early is not necessarily cheaper. I checked the room price on the day of check-in, and it was more than 100 yuan cheaper than what I booked in advance. In addition, if you drive to check in, you must communicate during check-in. Well, although Ctrip stated that parking at this hotel is free, the front desk will tell you that it will charge 16 euros a day. Fortunately, after repeated communication with the front desk, we finally did not ask me to pay the parking fee, but it would be a waste of time. The hotel breakfast was average. , drive to the old city attractions about three or four kilometers away.

GGuest UserWe were so looking forward to spending our last night in Croatia at this historic hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted right away by the concierge, who took our bags and shown to a seat for checking in. Surprisingly, the young girl at reception was abrupt and indifferent, while we did notice that all the other reception clerks were engaged and friendly. We had booked a Superior King Room, and requested an upper floor with a view, but were disappointed to be given a 2nd floor interior room. That said, we certainly understand that not all room requests can be accommodated and the room was quite lovely. Unfortunately, however, there was a wedding reception in the hotel's ballroom that evening, which our room overlooked, and the dance music continued into the early hours of the morning, 3:30am. Other than getting very little sleep that night the room was beautiful, with a large washroom, and a king bed with comfortable pillows. We appreciated the thoughtful addition of glasses (beer, champagne and wine) and a corkscrew. The location was perfect for visiting the charming old town of Zagreb, and we enjoyed a drink at the bar as well as coffee on the lovely terrace the following morning. We didn't have time for breakfast, but it looked wonderful. Our checkout was a much more pleasant experience, with a very friendly reception clerk. I would recommend to anyone wishing to stay at this hotel to ask about events booked in the ballroom, or to insist on an outside view room. Note that we stayed on a Saturday, which would typically be the night for wedding receptions.

GGuest UserGood location close to the main square and large shady park. It's a very busy street but this room was on the back side and quiet, they may not even have any rooms on the street side. This was a private room with a double bed and shared bath. Shared bath was small where the sink is but shower is roomy. Always was clean, and shared by only a couple of rooms. Didn't see the dorm rooms. There are also private rooms with private bath offered. At the time of this visit an organized breakfast wasn't offered but cold cereal and fruit was available 24/7 in the common kitchen, and instant coffee 24/7. The espresso machine required a staff member to operate and the desk isn't staffed except during the day generally. There's a sitting area with couch and chair and a dining area with tables and chairs. There was no air conditioner in this room and it was unusually hot in Zagreb during the stay. At night with the windows open it was comfortable, but very warm otherwise in the room during the day. Very nice owners.

柳純一From Zagreb station, take the tram 2 or 6 and the stop is not painful if you get off at the Zagreb bus station. This is good if you want to take advantage of the Zagreb bus station. There is no breakfast (you can procure it because there is a 24-hour bakery at the bus station), but you can substitute it because there is a kettle and a pack of tea and coffee and sticks. Instant soup and cup noodles are also good at the supermarket. Wi-Fi is strong and stress-free. There is air conditioning so you can deal with the heat of summer or off-season. The facilities are brand new so you can spend very cozy.

GGuest UserThis hotel is amazing, I’m a diamond member and this was the nicest Garden Inn I have ever stayed in. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The bathroom design could be a little better, you had to close the door to use the sink. The people at the front desk were so helpful. They helped us figure out how to get to old town, we walked. Instead of walking along a busy street they told us to walk by their green belt instead, it was only 5 minutes longer. They also arranged for a breakfast box for us on the day we checked out. Most hotels would give you a piece of fruit, fruit bar and water. The Garden Inn gave us a menu to choose from with sandwiches (both with meat and veggie), option of fruit, yogurt and something to drink. The standard buffet breakfast was very nice. Good selections and good quality items. There was parking in the back of the hotel, but there was also underground parking. It cost 15E a day. There were a number of restaurants in the area and a market across the street. Highly recommend. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport and it was an easy drive.

IItripI'm not a frequent hostel-goer, but my stay here was less than impressive despite the high praise it often receives. The 11-person dorm felt cramped, featuring creaky wooden beds placed too closely together. The bedding and air quality left much to be desired. On the plus side, the facilities were decent and relatively clean, including a bar area that seemed underutilized both by guests and outsiders. Considering the £20 per night price tag, there are plenty of other options in Zagreb that offer a better value for the same cost

BBartek W. SowińskiBittersweet stay at Speeka. Bad weather first 2 days and few mayor sites still closed due to earthquake in 2020. Hostel is located at 3-lanes main street so prepare for the traffic almost 24/7. Windows are old so don't stop the noise. 1st two nights I slept in room number 9 and there were two other cranky beds making so much noise with every move made. Then I moved to nr 6 and it was much better. Staying there you need to be also prepared for coffee, tea and hot water shortages. And those shabby walls make an impression that the owner doesn't want to invest too much in renovation. Good thing is that hostel is in walking distance from the old town and everything is actually very closed. People are nice and helpful, thanks to the lady at the reception I managed to print a ticket for 2Cellos - without it I wouldn't enter cause they don't have scanners to read a ticket on smartphone screen. But the concert itself was also sad, maybe cause of those strings sound. I don't know what happened but most likely will visit Zagreb in a few years again and stay at some better place.

GGuest UserI recommend this hotel as it is very well placed to wander around Zagreb. It is clean, very good breakfast and the staff not just friendly but very helpful. When you have had a wonderful holiday it is always easy to write a good review but my review is based upon yes a lovely holiday but it had to be cut short by five days - I got quite ill and had to return to London. The response by staff could not have been better or more kind. Not only did they help me get organised to leave but they also waived the cost of the 5 days. They did not have to do this but chose to help and support me. So I cannot speak more highly of this Hotel and its staff. And thank them so very much for making this difficult time more manageable fr me. So this review in not simple about the physical attributes of this very well placed hotel but evolves from the leadership and priorities of the Hotel and staff to fundamentally serve its customers. Many thanks

TTommiBoxThe hotel is located under a rideway is not exactly romantic; the parks are also watched the parks behind are not watched NOT leave items in view. We have been allocated a room in the dependence, which is a 2-storey villa recently renovated, reachable in a few steps from the breakfast room. It passes through a playground garden, with a car car car basket overside a fancy garage, remembers a post-belliking period. Spartan: white walls, 2 military brands, a neon lamp. Croatian breakfast with a lady who prepares omelets that seems to be out of a Soviet film in the 1960s. Express coffee machine and selection of fresh salses/cheese (Croatian breakfast is salted), but there are also packed sweets and if you are lucky with fresh pasta. A bus passes to the centre above the ride, a 30-minute walking foot is on the footsteps of the huge peripheral roads of Zagreb. I liked experience of living in a typical urban outskirt of Eastern Europe, cleaning of the rooms and the kindness of the family that manages the whole. I don't advise you for romantic flights or for travelers without their own means (it's really uncomfortable without car or bike)

AAnonymous UserThe room was ready by 11:00am so I could check in early and leave my luggage. I have a safety concern and it is that the code to access the main door is the same one to your room door, so unless everyone has a different code for both the main door and their room door (which is the same), any of the other residents can basically access your room since everyone shares the same code. The location is very good, very close to the main attractions. At times, there was a strange noise coming from the patio. Overall, decent experience.
