Escolhemos o Parador de Zafra porque viajávamos por Espanha e ficava na localização certa para descansar nessa noite. Mas esse não foi o único critério: era um edifício histórico, muito bonito, com condições e bons comentários. Não ficámos desiludidos! Ainda que num ambiente de castelo , tem todas as condições de conforto, o atendimento foi muito simpático. O estacionamento foi pago.

Not up to usual Parador standards. Smell of sewage and damp on entering. Very small room more like a cell/dungeon with tiny window apt I suppose as it is a castle. Room led directly off a noisy atrium. We asked for a larger room but were initially advised that all the others were the same size by an unhelful and unconcerned receptionist. Susequently another receptionist managed to find another slightly larger room with a window opening onto the square outside the building. However this room had a cracked sink, mould on the shower screen and broken shower head . There was no heating and it was very cold. Overall a big disappoin**ent which has shaken our confidence in the Parador chain. Oh and did I mention that of course there was no apology.

Beautiful Castle , well restored. Dinner and breakfast at high level. Zafra is a nice old town full of charme.

Don’t accept room 222 because it is next the laundry room and they start their day early. The doors are wooden and you can hear that! The parador is a wonderful place with a great patio. You can park in front but you need every day a new voucher (€5). A somewhat guest-friendly solution should be possible. I was overall fine with my stay but was not overwhelmed. Average score, sorry.

We used the Parador as a base for a day trip to Seville by car. The Zafra Parador was a fraction of the cost of a Seville hotel. It was my sister’s first stay in a parador and its authenticity blew her mind. The standard rooms were a reasonable size and comfortable. We took snacks in the bar on the first night after a later arrival. Breakfast was big and the staff were helpful. On the second night we ate outside the hotel. There are a number of restaurants in walking distance.

Beautiful renovated castle overlooking a wonderful charming city. Warm and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and great value for money. Breakfast is good and there are lots of nearby restaurants and bars.

This was our first stay at this Parador. We have stayed at many other Paradors over the last 32 years and decided to give Zafra a try on our way from Santander to the Algarve. The historic building in a fairly quiet square in the town was fabulous, albeit with the only parking being paid public parking in the square. Sadly our stay was somewhat spoilt by a very large party of about 40 adults arriving and making dinner and breakfast less enjoyable than we expect, and have always received, from Paradors.

We broke our journey to Marbella by staying at Zafra. The Paradores Hotel is centrally located, parked outside the door and got an upgrade to a Junior Suite. Absolutely fabulous. The “ foyer” is most impressive and we were delighted to receive a welcome drink. Small town, easy to walk about despite the high temperature. I’m glad we took the small detour.
