"Very nice place to stay! Quiet during the spring/summer period due to the area being more popular in winter. Very near Echigo Yuzawa Station within 5min walk. Was welcomed into the hotel nicely with complimentary matcha and snack. Upon check in there was even a cute Gachapon game in which you could win one of their special Niigata/Yuzawa stuff! I won a small pack of Niigata rice.
Room was clean and spacious with a comfy futon bed. The public baths were so nice and well maintained! The staff here are very friendly and attentive. If you did not reserve their special dinner/breakfast set, you can still do say with 2 days advanced order over the front desk. I also love that they provide free shuttle to the station at check out upon request! Definitely staying here again if ever back in the area 🫶🏼"

"The hotel is equipped with ski rental and selling ski lift tickets around it. The price is cheaper than buying on the spot. Breakfast is good and the owner is friendly. Some rooms require public toilets. The train to the hotel is very alienated. There are no restaurants nearby. If you want to dine out in the city at night, you must relocate to the return train or take a taxi. I hope the hotel can install a washing machine."
"Stayed here after going to Tangze skiing, luckily booked a room with open-air hot springs, which was perfect and the breakfast was particularly exquisite and delicious. The hot springs in the room are really different, enjoy the trip, just in time for the hot springs, beautiful can not be described in words."
"10 points to recommend this hotel, the hotel has a massage chair hot spring, 10 points friendly for guests who have just slipped the snow. Plus breakfast and dinner are also delicious and the service is very thoughtful. "
"The room was cleaner than expected, and the training was very comfortable. It should be run by a family. There is a couple, mother-in-law and father-in-law, who are very nice and friendly people. The breakfast is so rich and delicious!"
"Very nice hotel. It seems that the hotel that is run by itself has roots in the local area, because a large area in front of the house is open space and there is no building block, which requires some historical support. The hot springs are also very good. Obviously, the hotel has its own small and beautiful insistence, and guests need to cooperate as much as possible. There are rules to maintain the beauty. Compared with other recommended larger hotels in town, it is on the slope, so the scenery should be more convenient and beautiful, but it needs to climb, and it is far from the station and the 7-11 on the side of the station. Everything else is perfect and I like it very much."
"Staff service is very good, very professional.
Ski rentals are available at the hotel, which is cheaper than ski resorts and other ski resorts.
Ski tickets at the hotel are also available at discounts.
There is also a special car transfer, when you see everyone waiting for the bus in a long queue, your special car is already waiting for you at the door, when it snows, feel warm.
It is only a 5-minute walk to Yuehou Tangyu Station and 7-11."

Outstanding
LLance B Goh1. There’s pickup and dropoff for Echigo stn
2. No shoes allowed beyond the hotel entrance
3. Front desk have a local Japanese staff that can speak English. Pretend to be nice not. Anything else , he will tell you don’t know. Go find yourself. Besides selling tickets that he will earn money. You’ll get no information from him
4. 1st day check-in, my in room hot spring tub is slimy n dirty stained wil algae. I scrub a lot out and took video. Same Japanese man came and nothing. Till I show him the algae I’ve scrub and the video, he kept quiet. Housekeeping do scrub off within 30mins
5. Breakfast is same everyday
6. Dinner, slight changes but still 99% same.
7. Child meal is hopeless.
Stayed for 5nights, same meals daily.
8. Want to bring a cake to dinner to celebrate my Daughters Birthday, we were forbidden to do so. Nothing besides what they bring to you.
9. Onsen was good
10. Basic ice cream treats.
11. Simple ramen in the evening
Hotel is too rigid. It’s really expensive during our visits. The rules at dining and the same meals daily, it’s unbearable. Kids have nothing much to eat
For the price, I’ll not stay in this rigid property. Many other Ryokan resort for lesser price and better options. It’s not ski in ski out and yet price are too high.
GGuest UserI love this hotel very much .The Location is very good it easy to Cary your luggage from station to this hotel.Aroud hotel have many restaurants.....from the Google map you will confuse about the distance.
Please use West Exit it near hotel.
The view in hotel suitabe to relax.
SSilverGeckoThis is our 3rd week of 4 weeks exploring Japan and so far Yuzawa Grand is the best Ryokan Onsen experience we have had. We could have spent several days there it was sublime. We arrived in the morning and the staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. We had been told by the tourist centre at the train station that the gondola wasn’t operational for 3 days; however the Yuzawa Receptionist assured us that it was operating and showed us that they were even able to sell us tickets at a discount. She gave us a map and bus timetable, showing us where everything was. They stored our backpacks for us and off we went exploring and had a marvellous time. We soaked our feet in the foot baths while having a treat before catching the bus to the mountains. We came back to our gorgeous room which had a coffee pod machine in it. Was so nice having a coffee in the morning looking out the window. We enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful Onsens before dinner. The buffet at both dinner and breakfast was incredible, everything so beautifully presented and incredibly delicious.
Highly recommend this gorgeous hotel. The staff are fantastic and the ambiance very peaceful.
GGuest UserHighly recommended. A very historic hot spring hotel, a little far from Yuzawa Station. The hotel has a shuttle bus, which usually leaves on the hour and arrives at 8pm at the latest. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call them. The old man at the front desk speaks good English, and there is also a guy who speaks Chinese. In the evening, put on the hotel's yukata and go to the hot spring. The hot spring is open from afternoon to evening. After the bath, there is a lounge with two flavors of popsicles, facial masks, and table tennis🏓.
KKoo MYIs a PERFECT get away for family and friends. Excellence value for money package with great dinner menus and setting. Room is spacious and functional. Beautiful outdoor onsen. Near all the famous skiing area. The only set back is the usage of lobby at nite, on the 16/1/25 we are allowed to use till 12am. Yet on the 17/1/25 night, the front office staff come over our sitting area and turn of the light despite is only ard 10pm and he is aware we are chit chatting and having a drink there... This really surprise everyone.
The rest of the hotel staff is friendly and approachable. Except the guys working on night shift 17/1/25, I assume in the front office,.
GGuest UserHotel room was good and massive, facilities are abundant as well. The onsen is super spacious and it's thru the night.
Food selection are quite a few but do try to get to Eki for more selections... Just take note of the last shuttle bus back to hotel.
In all the stay was good, just need to take note that this hotel is only allow SKI in / SKI out... But NOT SNOWBOARDING.... That you have to take shuttle bus to other resort location thru its skiing shuttle bus services...
GGuest UserThe hotel is on the East side of the station which we hadn't stayed before. Its quieter then the West which was nice but still close to some restaurants and the main bus stops for ski resorts. Its about a 5 min walk from the station. We arrived and nobody was at reception and even dinging the bell we had to wait a while. It is a bit of a mess downstairs in reception with the owners clutter but that has nothing to do with your stay so not to worry. We did request a Japanese room if available but nothing was ever mentioned about that and we just got a western style twin. The owner didnt know much english so we didn't want to bother trying to explain. It was clean, neat and every day we got new towels, yukata, new tea, bed made etc. There is a dry room downstairs for your skis and boots and gear and everything was toasty and warm in the morning. You leave the key in the box when you leave each day and get it back from reception once you return, though if we went out for dinner again later or to the konbini we would just keep it on us. You have your own bathroom but they also have 1 Japanese Onsen and you can use it for private and lock the door. It was so nice to have private Onsen as we have rarely been able to have Onsen together in Japan as a couple. It is also a close walk to a Lawson so you don’t have to fight the other tourists for food at the 7 Eleven on the west side. Or you can go to Matsumoto KiYoshi at the station East side. The hotel was quiet when we were there. Perhaps there wasn't many guests or maybe they were just considerate and quiet people. I would stay here again for sure but would like to get a Japanese room next time.
WWill097Although it is quite remote, the overall environment of the hotel is quite beautiful. There are 2 kinds of hot spring baths and breakfast food.
VVvvvLlllVery good deal for Ski in ski out!!
Room in building 4 is smaller than expected but no complaints with such discount.
Restaurants inside are nice, but heading out to the village once a while is good too. The walk to village is like 10 mins and very do-able!
GGuest Userexcellent ski resort with related facilities

hot spring in public provided
buffet restaurant and a Japanese restaurant under the hotel
ski locker per room provided and 24 hours convenient store
however the room cleanliness maybe improved
