Yuzawa New Otani

I stayed at the Yuzawa New Otani, which is part of the Hotel New Otani in Kioicho, Tokyo. I would like to say that I stayed at the New Otani for 14,000 yen per night! But it was a nostalgic Japanese-style room. The open-air bath in the hotel was nice. There were many restaurants and karaoke shops within walking distance. The streetscape also had a nostalgic feel to it. I had Echigo Yuzawa's specialty sweet, "Sasayuki," in my room. It was a delicious sweet similar to habutae mochi. Near this hotel was the Yuzawa Kogen Ropeway. I rode in a huge 166-seater gondola and looked down on the impressive mountains and cityscape from the top of the mountain. The round-trip ticket for this ropeway costs 2,800 yen if you buy it locally, but you can buy it for 2,400 yen from the ticket machine at Yuzawa New Otani! It was a short stay, but I was able to relax. Thank you for your help.

I enjoyed the service in a very spacious private room, which I think used to be a karaoke room. There was a large public bath right next to it, and the room was equipped with a refrigerator and a kettle. It was so comfortable that I thought I could just sleep there.

It was my first time using this facility. It was a weekday during the off-season, so it was relatively empty and I was able to use the large public bath to myself and relax. The facility is well-maintained and clean. The room was a Western-style room with an Airweave mattress, which was very comfortable. The food was just the right amount and delicious. The staff were polite and kind. It was good value for money and more than worth it. I will definitely return.

Used for skiing purposes. The day we arrived we went to Gala, and the second night we went to Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort. From Gala, we took the Shinkansen to Echigo Yuzawa and were picked up by car. We took a bus to Yuzawa Kogen and walked back, but it was difficult for a tired child. ☆Good points: The Japanese-style room with two rooms was spacious and nice! Yukimi Onsen (female only) is also great! After checking out, you can use the hot springs for free after skiing. (Please note that there are no bath towels in the changing room. Rental required.) The rice is delicious. The amount of food was just right. They sold ski accessories, which was helpful. There was a ski rental shop attached. ☆Bad points: There is a set time for picking up and dropping off the car to the station. It would be nice if they could serve it on an ad hoc basis when there were few customers. The banquet hall can be used as a changing room, but it closes early. There is very little meat in the rice. The facilities are old and unfashionable. You can walk from the nearest ski resort, but it's a little far. After all, as a hotel that is not in front of the ski slopes, the service makes up for it.
