A cozy guesthouse where you can enjoy skiing/snowboarding and hot springs. Visited with a friend. It is located 7 minutes on foot from the Tashiro Station of the Kagura Ski Resort (there is a bus stop to/from Echigo Yuzawa Station), and we were able to visit without using a car. The staff was very helpful & supportive in providing us with information on discounts on lift tickets, information about the courses on the slopes, information about local events, and bus times for the return trip. There is also a hot spring place called "Shukuba no Yu" within a few minutes' walk, which has very good spring water quality and is effective for recovery. It was a very nice point that the guesthouse gave us a free ticket to this hot spring place. The rooms were free of any insect damage when I visited, and the bed was comfortable and clean. It was also very nice to be able to enjoy Niigata's local sake until 10pm. (It was served in wine glasses :) ) I think that the guesthouse will update in many ways, with plans to open a cafe in the near future, and I hope to be back next season!
