I love this homestay. I have stayed in this place for the third time. It’s a beautiful, well maintained guesthouse with a caring, lovely owner in one of the most pretty, tiny mountain villages that I have seen so far in China. But I need to issue a serious warning about the recent developments on the hiking trails that surround the village. It took the young people who are now massively flocking these trails, less than a year to completely trash the trails with plastic garbage. This is NOT OK. This insensitive behavior is devastating and upsetting. It is unacceptable! The principle that all hikers and trekkers should follow when they enter the mountains is “to leave no traces”. Every plastic bottle, every plastic bag, every plastic food wrap, every oxygen bottle, every plastic rain cape, every aluminum bin, everything, that someone takes into the mountains, he or she has to take out of the mountain and to properly discard in the village’s official garbage bins. The purity and peace of natural places like this is fragile and vulnerable. Don’t take it for granted. Don’t destroy it.

The view from guest house to Yulong Moutain is wonderful. The breakfast is homemade and also very full and yummy. At night, don’t miss the night sky full of stars outside.

My wife and I (Singaporean couple) stayed on the 9th and 10th December 2023. Overall, great value-for-money. Their service and hospitality left a deep impression. From getting us additional warmers so that we don't sleep cold, buying tickets of tourist attractions at locals' price, providing adaptors for us, arranging transportation, suggesting the fun places to go, and the breakfast - lightly flavored and healthy meal -and the amazing view of the snow mountain at 720am. They even help us to exchange our cash into smaller denomination when we ran into problems paying locals for their tea as they only accept wechat pay and we don't have one set up. You will get the full experience if you can speak mandarin with them. The scenery outside the window is also beautiful, and the dogs at the B&B are also very well-behaved. For self-driving parking, you need to contact the landlord in advance to report your license plate number, and then park inside Yuhu Plaza. Someone will come to help pick up your luggage. It is only a short walk away. The breakfast is quite rich, and the people at the B&B are also very friendly.

Even if they don’t go out for a walk, they can sit in the B&B for a long time. The only pity is that there is no full-length mirror, which is very important for girls! Breakfast is also cooked by the boss himself. He will only ask you if it is enough. He has already recommended it to his friends on the way back~

A village under the snow-capped mountains, a B&B run by local Naxi people. As soon as you enter the yard, you feel very warm and comfortable. The owner and his family are very enthusiastic and will chat with us about strategies and local customs. The house is built of stone, and the owner said it was built by them in the past. Our ancestors carried stones when they went to the river. The room is made of wood and is very unique. You can see the snow-capped mountains from the corner of the second floor. There are two dogs in the yard which is one of the reasons why we like this B&B. It is really cute. Two very docile dogs. It is also very close to Dongba Valley, about ten minutes away. We made an appointment for a car in the morning and saw the Rizhao Jinshan Mountain! The village is relatively quiet at night, and it’s beautiful to see the stars in the sky! The boss also recommended us restaurants run by locals. I ate at both of them and they were great, including Snow Mountain Fish, Cured Pork Ribs and Red Bean Pancakes, and Grilled Beef Skewers. We also experienced horse riding. It was a great experience. We will come here next time. Will definitely stay here again! !

The environment is very good. It is a traditional house with a large yard that looks like a courtyard. The room is bright and there is a tatami where you can drink tea. In the morning, you can enjoy the scenery from the terrace on the second floor. You can see Jinshan Mountain in Rizhao, but it is quite far away and very small. The service is attentive. The boss will pick you up at the door and help you carry your suitcase when leaving. The breakfast provided was delicious and abundant; The disadvantage may be that there is no door outside the bathroom, which would be awkward if there are multiple people staying. There is no TV or projection in the room. There is no nightlife in the village at night. It is very inconvenient to have no TV or projection in the room.

It is one of the few B&Bs built by villagers in their own houses. It is very nice. The rooms are fully equipped and have a very cozy feel. The breakfast is to my liking! The soundproofing of the room is average, but the boss will remind the guests to try not to disturb other people's rest! Overall it exceeded expectations!

The courtyard is located in Yuhu Village and is run by a local Naxi family. The owner’s family also lives here, allowing tourists to feel the atmosphere of home (it is said that there are very few B&Bs in the village that are truly run by local families). Although we didn’t meet the boss lady in person for two days, the online communication has been very pleasant. The lady’s mother entertained us throughout the offline process. The aunt’s care made us feel the kindness and enthusiasm of the Naxi people... The moment I entered the courtyard, I was surrounded by a sense of intimacy and comfort. Even the first thing my mother said when she entered the courtyard was, "Let's find time to stay here for a few days every year. It's so comfortable." My overall feeling here is chill... If you are tired of staying in big cities and feel overwhelmed by the fast pace, come here to experience real life (to be honest, I have never been so relaxed when I lived around the ancient city and Dali). The village is very quiet at 9pm, and the boss will remind everyone to pay attention to their volume when talking after 22pm... So at night, I just listen quietly to the sound of wind, birds, and the occasional barking of dogs. The unique rhythm of life is really So comfortable! I won’t say much about the environment of the yard. What you see in the photos without beauty filters is real. The room has complete facilities, very good sanitary conditions and is very cozy. The front yard is a great place to sit and stare at the mountains, clouds, blue sky, and dogs without getting tired of sitting for a long time. When sitting in the courtyard in a daze, there are two dogs to keep company. "Da Mao" is docile and well-behaved and will turn over his belly and beg to be petted when he sees people. "Dofu" is lively and cute and always asks for people to play with him. There are some fruit trees planted in the backyard. When we first moved in, my aunt enthusiastically told us that we could pick apples at will to achieve freedom. We picked two and tasted the rich, sweet and delicious fruit! In addition, my aunt made breakfast herself, and the rice noodles were really delicious! Finally, I would like to say that I sincerely recommend staying in Yuhu Village. You may experience more than if you go back and forth on the same day. I also sincerely recommend Shanshuitan. Compared with other B&Bs run by professionals who are good at management, Shanshuitan does not seem to have an advantage in publicity. It may not be on the home page on major platforms, but if you can find it by chance, I believe you won’t regret it if you try it! Maybe we will meet by chance in the courtyard next time 😉
