We had a lovely stay at Diamonds Inn. We booked the Standard Suite, Ensuite 3-bed room which is located at the top floor of the building. A very quaint compact en-suite family room great for a group of friends or family. All basic amenities are there including towels, shampoo and shower gels. There’s also an electric water kettle, coffee/tea, hair dryer and a small fridge! Beds are soft and comfy. Walls are thin and may hear voices of other guests in the halls during the day but was not a major issue during our stay, mostly quiet after 10pm. Location is very convenient as its only a stones throw away from one of the famous wall entrances, a pub and restaurant across and York Minster. Host was lovely and friendly as well, called to ask if we can get an early check-in and was happy to accommodate us.
Beautiful atmospheric hotel with beautiful entrance, spacious bedroom modern classic bathroom, only the food is expensive and nothing special also breakfast was meager. But for the rest is ok
The hotel is right in front of the cathedral, the location is very central, and Diagon Alley is also within walking distance, which is not convenient for parking. 7.8 minutes after walking the street one night behind the parking lot is okay, parking during the day is very expensive.
Welcome to us is a very old-fashioned British gentleman, introduced the room for 10 minutes, and encountered the butler-style service for the first time.
Great experience. The front desk staff was very kind and thoughtful and also upgraded the room for us for free. The facilities in the room are very complete and comfortable, the breakfast quality is high, and the hotel needs 15-20 minutes to get off the city.
The house is comfortable, close to the train station, not noisy, and convenient for travel. There are restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The house is not too small. The shower-type water outlet is an ancient device, so if you don't want to get your hair wet, you must take a shower. Shower cap, and the store has breakfast, the price is reasonable, there are many varieties, and the food is fresh, it is a good choice.
Everything is perfectly cute. My friend and I love the design of the room, and we wish to try other rooms as well! We had a relaxed and happy trip with this hotel~
We stayed here for a wedding. The room itself was prefect. (Family room) Large bathroom and very spacious bedroom area. We had a mini fridge with water and milk in, tea coffee facilities etc. iron, hairdryer. Unfortunately we didn’t think the beds or pillows were very comfy. Very large bed but it was 2 beds put together and me and my partner could feel the gap between the beds! Not what we expected.
The venue is absolutely stunning! We had the best time. All staff were friendly polite and welcoming.
The food was excellent. We had pork/chicken/beef over 2 courses then a cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. Absolutely delicious!

AAnonymous UserVery lovely hotel. We love the building and the room and the outside view from our room. Love the coffee machine in our room. Everything feels luxurious. This is the only hotel that provides bedroom slippers throughout our UK trip.
Room with big bathroom is nice. There is a famous restaurant inside the hotel. Lucky to get a table without reservations.
Paid parking at the hotel is a bit steep. Other than that, all good.
AAnonymous UserThis hotel is close to the train station (just a few minutes' walk) and not far from York’s main attractions like York Minster, The Shambles, and the Jorvik Viking Centre. Guests appreciate the friendly staff, who are welcoming and helpful.
One of the highlights of staying here is the complimentary breakfast, which includes a good selection of hot and cold items. A special touch is the make-your-own waffle station, which many guests enjoy. The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable, with all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay.
GGuest UserGreat location and has parking that is a bonus. Room was well appointed. Only gripe is no water in the room and cleanliness not the greatest. Has a skylight above the bed that was full of cobwebs Apart from that team very bubbly and would stay again
IISARIWe had a comfortable stay with a spacious room and great amenities. However, there was a party in the lobby during our stay that made the area quite crowded and noisy. Despite that, we still had a good experience overall and would recommend it for families.
GGuest UserAbsolutely beautiful hotel in a great location, 5 minute walk from the city. Inside the hotel is amazing and quite grand. We choose a garden view room which was a bit small but the view was amazing, all the way to the minster. Breakfast can get a bit busy as the area is small but it was nice.
The spa was lovely but again small and can get busy.
Overall a beautiful hotel in an ideal location.
GGuest UserIt was nice. Their staff is really helping and cool . Very welcoming. Breakfast could have been better with more vegetarian (excluding eggs) and vegan options!
GGuest UserThe staff are nice and friendly.
There is car park at the back of the hotel. It was a nice and convenient location. We stay on the ground floor, only a few steps up, from the reception.
It was very great, we don’t need prepare the sofa bed, they had done before our arrival.
Only the cleanliness is a bit not up to standard. There is nail polish left on the desk and plastic clip on the floor.
It is nice to provide tooth brushes and razors. However, no slippers can be provided, which is the only thing we had forgotten.
The body and hand wash are locked, it was empty in the shower, we needed to call for refill. If we can move the one from the basin, then we don’t need to bother the staff.
The worst is no sound proof at all. You can hear someone outside in the corridor and even next door. We can hear next door’s conversation clearly.
BBAY1203Staying for three days for my solo trip at York. The room was quite big and yet old, without air conditioner but an old heater and fan.
The taps were separated hot water and cold water, and yet the hot water was either not hot enough or very hot.
It was closed to those key spots so I could reach them on foot, and yet there was a pub right opposite to the hotel, so it would be a bit noisy at night time.
Breakfast buffet was acceptable for its price.
GGuest UserHotel is situated right opposite Clifton tower and is conveniently located within. The city centre - walking distance to the Shambles and other attractions. The parking situation is problematic - although aware it is first come first served, there is nowhere available to park up and ask except the three spaces in front of the hotel and if taken, you end up circling the road for an absolutely age before a space becomes available. If no parking on site end up parking over the road on public car park which is inconvenient as keep having to work out when to renew. The cleanliness is a slight issue, we thought there was dust on surfaces but more likely to be cloth fibres from the cleaners but still don't expect shedding like this. Room was fine but did think bathroom was on the smaller side for a double deluxe room. Service in general was good - couldn't really fault.
XXingxingzouzoudexiaoyuerFacilities: The room is relatively large, the bed and pillows are quite comfortable
Service: Hotel staff are friendly
Environment: The hotel is located on a large green area, which is very eye-catching.
Hygiene: very good. Neat and clean.
special service:
1. The hotel provides free parking, which is a service that few hotels in the UK can provide, and parking is usually paid for. so nice 👍
2. The hotel has a bar and restaurant, which is convenient for guests.
