小野川温泉の中心、尼湯の向かいあたりにある老舗旅館。歴史と伝統を感じる旅館建築です。日帰り入浴で利用させていただきました。入浴料は300円。温泉は加水加温循環なしの源泉かけ流し。かなり熱めです。白い湯の花が舞っています。肌ざわりがよい温泉です。女将さんもいい方でした。

米沢は何度も訪れましたが小野川温泉は未踏の地でした。 小規模ながらも温泉街を形成し雰囲気は抜群でした。 どれも魅力ある宿のため難儀しましたが扇屋旅館をチョイスすることに。 宿につくなり大女将さん直々に歓迎ムード120％のハートに響くおもてなしに心打たれました。チェックアウト後に真っ先に入ったお風呂は肌に優しい泉質で前日に利用した蔵王の湯とは真逆の泉質。温泉大国山形はどの温泉地も特徴ある湯でうらやましい限りです。夕食では珍しい料理が続きました。 鯉の洗いにうま煮、丘ひじきと称されるウコギに蕎麦など山形の味をこれでもかと堪能。創業500年、築120年の歴史ある文化財級の宿にも泊まれて建築マニアとしては喜びも一入。機会があればぜひとも再訪したいですね。
