I stayed here only for breakfast. The front desk and staff were polite. The free drinks were great. It would have been nice if there was a bag or basket when going to the large public bath. The bag next to the front desk was only big enough to fit underwear. I had trouble taking towels from the room. I brought them in the bag I brought with me just in case. I think that's necessary if they use one towel per person.
There were traces of what it must have been like in the past when it was a high-class inn.

It was a comfortable accommodation for foreigners. The building facilities are old, but the hot springs and staff response are excellent for the price.

Unlike the appearance, it is a spacious Japanese-style room, dinner is Japanese room food that can not be eaten, and breakfast is a large amount of Japanese food at the breakfast hall, so there is no doubt that you will gain weight. The food was delicious.
You can smoke in the room, so I think it's good for smokers.
Above all, the price was reasonable and we were able to stay at a great value.

１月下旬、カニを目的にお邪魔しました。立地は皆生温泉街の中心に位置していますが、海岸通りからは入組んだ場所にあるため、海沿いではありません。最上階の大浴場からは海を臨むことが出来たので、高層階であれば、向きにより部屋からも見えるかもしれません。利用したのは６階の角部屋。部屋から大山が望めました。こちらはお風呂が良く、広い内湯にサウナもあり、露天は８階なので眺望もよく、強烈に塩辛い皆生特有のお湯はかけ流しだそうです。夕食は個室を希望した為、部屋と同フロアの客室にご用意いただきました。カニフルコースはお造り、茹で姿１杯、焼き、カニスキと続きますが、お腹いっぱいで最後まで食べれませんでした。気になったのが夕食時のスタッフで、食事開始時にテーブル上のすべての固形燃料に火をつけてしまい、そのあと飲み物の注文以外一切お構いなし。最後に食べた釜飯はおかげで冷えてぱさぱさに。こういう時期なのでスタッフが少ないのかも知れませんが、せめてカニスキと釜飯は順番に火をつけていただきたいなと・・。中規模の宿ながら、豪華なロビーと広い客室、特にお風呂が良かっただけに、少し残念に思いました。朝食はレストランで和定食です。セルフで良いので、コーヒーがあれば良いと思います。お世話になりました。
