Thaulle Ayurveda Resort - Yala

Wow what a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location by the lake. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Our room was glorious with a spectacular view and balcony. The staff could not do enough for you they were so attentive and helpful. The food was lovely, traditional and beautifully cooked. It was in a good location to visit Yalla national park. We stayed 2 nights , we wished we could have stayed longer. Can’t recommend this hotel more.

This place was so refreshing. More of a boutique hotel. My room had a view of Yoda lake. Slippers and bathrobes. Huge bathroom. Good water pressure and temperature in the shower. Evening buffet dinner was limited (compared to other hotels) but really good quality food. Dining tables available inside and outside on their grounds which were well maintained. It was a nice surprise to have breakfast brought to the table. Got a menu to choose from a continental, American or local breakfast. Table was beautifully decorated with petals and a view of the lake. The American consisted of a plate of fruit, sap juice, green tea, a bread basket with homemade jams - mango, rose wood and apple wood - all delicious. Followed by 2 pouched eggs, hash browns, sausages, tomato and cheese. I was very pleased. Check in and out was easy, no waiting. Staff were lovely.

Great experience. Rejuvenating. Fantastic location on Lake Yoda. They also have a restaurant and immersion pool in nearby Kirinda Beach where we went often. Friendly, attentive staff. Ayurvedic treatments were the main reason we returned. Daily yoga. We rented scooters (5 Euros per day) to also use our free time to visit nearby Tissamaharama. Temples and nature (Yala National Park) nearby. We did a safari again as well.

This hotel has no children policy but they were so lovely that they accepted our reservation with our two daughters of 10 years. Thanks to Shawn he had arranged a beautiful room for us four with very nice view of the lake. We spent 4 days there invluding our new year’s eve with amazing food and very nice entertainment. Breakfast was amazing and with excellent variety. They have 2 pools one at the hotel and the other one next to the beach with 10 minutes drive. The resort has even the Aruvedya treatments for thosr who are interested. Very recommended for the stay at Tissamaharama.

Ideal in all aspects: location, treatments, food, staff, excursions and particularly price-value relationship. The family run business located on Lake Yoda has a fitness centre, pool, and daily yoga with a great teacher. It is a 10 minute TukTuk ride to the town of Tissamaharama, which has everything you need. My fifth time at Thaulle and I plan to return.

My friend and I came to Asia for an ayurvedic panchakarma, after much research, we chose Thaulle Resort in Sri Lanka. We were so happy we did! We loved the individualized experience. We decided to do a full 28 day stay with 25 days of panchakarma treatments. Firstly, the resort is in a beautiful, serene setting surrounded by mother nature and right on yoda lake. Our room was large, tastefully decorated (with lots of fresh flowers daily) and had all the amenities needed and we had many enjoyable times sitting on the balcony relaxing. The staff are incredible and we felt like we were part of a family. Shawn and his reception staff helped us with anything we needed. Our yoga teacher Don guided every morning at 7 am and by the end of the 28 days I was definitely more flexible and grounded. The food was delicious and the restaurant staff took care of us, found out what we liked and didn't like and educated us on Sri Lankan vegetables. The ayurvedic treatments were wonderful (and very helpful) and Dr. Uppal skillfully guided us through the whole process. The resort owners were onsite during our stay and the service they offered only added to the experience. The rest of the staff were also very attentive. In addition to our treatments, we did many trips including visits to their beach property, their organic farm (we got to plant a tree too!), a safari and lots of walks around the area. We highly recommend this resort and all it has to offer. Thank you Thaulle family for an amazing experience!
