The property is quite unusual. The main building is clean and recently renovated, but I was accommodated in the older building next door. The corridor smelled strongly of cigarettes, and there were cockroaches running around in the room

It is not a bad hotel overall, but it certainly does not deserve the 4 star it is given on the website. Room is clean and has the essentials. There is a kettle in the room, but no tea/coffee/water in the room. Restaurant has no staff, only a chef, so you have to go stand by the kitchen window and order and food is ready you have to collect it yourself. Location isn't great either.

I choose Alex Hotel to spend half-night and morning between flights. That was good choice because taxi delivered me to the hotel in about ten minutes ( it is a few kilometers before e the city), the hotel was easy to find, and I was met and checked in at 3 in the night. The place is quiet and the room was clean. Hot water in the bathroom. I would recommend a curtain for the shower, because it was impossible to take a shower, water splashing over the entire bathroom, literally. The breakfast included rice with chick peas, smth like vegetarian shawarma, salad of cabbage and carrot, two kinds of cookies, tea, and coffee. A cost of 3000 drams is a little bit too much, in my opinion. However, in the whole, the hotel is good for overnight between flights.

The receptionist was very friendly and supportive , she offered us upgraded room, room was specious and good.
Hotel is missing elevator.
Hotel is appx 30 min far from republic square
You have to request for room cleaning every day.

I don't recommend choosing a budget room. It is located in a separate, less new building. It was very cold and uncomfortable in the room.
Otherwise, I think the hotel is acceptable for its price
