A very nice hotel, lovely room, decent breakfast, comfortable lounge and friendly staff. However, the beach is a sad sight, dirty, covered with debris, no shops, restaurants, bars, no atmosphere whatsoever. boring and dull. city side is a huge factory. not the kind of place to enjoy the seaside. definitely not a ”golden” beach.

I stayed at the Tianma Hotel during the National Day. Because I had to fly temporarily, I arrived at 10 o'clock. We planned to store our luggage and check in after traveling. The customer service found that there was a clean room and immediately arranged the check-in in advance. The room environment was very good, and the rich breakfast was definitely beyond the 4-star level. excellent hotel. at european standard. the room was a bit too hot at 31°5 and small window was condamned. but we turned off the AC and let the corridor door opened 2 hours and it was manageable. bathroom is great, the bath tub is large enough for 2. the staff is helpfull. the breakfast buffet is enough with western standards available (but the restaurant is a bit cold in morning). the little window on the side had a partial view on the sea. i will definitively stay there next time. with IHG

From the Yantai Central Hotel booked on Ctrip, Xiaodu and Xiaolu greeted us with warm smiles as soon as they arrived at the front desk of the hotel. There was welcome fruit on the day of check-in. The breakfast, lunch and dinner on the next day were all eaten in the hotel restaurant. The housekeeping staff did not knock on the door to ask if we wanted to clean the room. They only asked after we left the room. The hotel is located right on the beach. Very beautiful. Hotel is a bit dated. Rooms were nice but older furniture and carpets. There was only one electricity plug next to bed and it didn’t work. When we checked in and went to the room, the room keys wouldn’t work, so we had to go back down to the front desk, and they just assigned us to the room next door. The worst part was that the room was extremely warm, 28 Celsius! I called the front desk and they sent a maintenance worker to “look” at it. But the AC was broken. Instead of putting us in a different room with a working AC, the hotel brought a swamp cooler to our room. The swamp cooler was extremely loud, but it did cool the room down for the night. But the next day, the room was hot and we checked out early because we simply were not enjoying ourselves. We also wanted to order room service, but the hotel didn’t have the items in the menu available that we wanted :(. I ordered a hamburger, but it was gross. There are many nice hotels to stay at in Yantai. The Sheraton used to be one of them…
