The staff took such good care of us, with tea always available and delicious meals planned around our schedules. The owner offered to pick us up locally or take us on hikes if they were free. The room was itself warm and clean. And the location, high up in the hills, was breathtaking. It is a bit remote though, so it’s a good idea to discuss transportation with the owner ahead of time. If you’re adventurous, there’s a trail up to DaMian Mountain directly next to the place. There’s also an easier hike through citrus orchards that follows the river. Bonus was the cute and friendly dog that loved getting pets and would guide you along trails!

This place is a jewel nestled on the hills over Xingping. Rooms are really nice and comfortable, the common area is almost poetic, with the long table over the terrace, and food is really delicious! Even if the location is quite remote, you can count on the owner to go to and from the small harbour on the river, and they will also help you with directions for all the surrounding areas. I had chosen this place mainly for its convenient location for Damianshan mountain: I was expecting to see a fantastic sunrise from the top. I am a little disappointed because the trail was not so easy to follow when we visited: vegetation hid the trail in several points and we were not able to find the last part and reach the top. I have already highlighted this to the boss so I hope they will adjust this in the future. ;) Unfortunately I only had one night / one sunrise so I missed my opportunity... we had to stop at a lower point with a nice view, but well, not *that* view. ;) Anyway, it's my only regret, for the rest everything was perfect. Amazing little spot across the river from Xingping. There are a few nice walking trails (one into town, the other up Mount Damian). Breakfast was delicious. So we're the views! 👌

The hostess is friendly and very helpful. She cooked for us and her meals are delicious. Tea is constantly provided. The location of the hostel is a bit remote but this should not be an issue as you can easily organise transport. The hostel is located in a village. We woke up each morning with breathtaking views and the air was heavy with the smell of orange/pomelo. Would recommend as a perfect getaway.

This Hotel is a hidden gem. The room was comfy and the view is to die for. The host paved and mapped out paths for us around the Hotel for the best views of the yangshuo mountains. We enjoyed the serenity and tranquility here. The air smells fragrant with osmanthus and fresh pomelos planted around the vicinity. The guide dog was so adorable and smart. She guided us all the way to the peak before the dawn, then waited for us to finish before guiding us back down. The host was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. She fetched us from the pier upon arrival and took us to the pier when we departed. She is also very open and kind in helping us navigate our way to the Hotel when we got lost. This place is just perfect for this price.

We booked the cheapest room (still 70 Dollars). It was noisy at night (some kind of compressor or heating was working). AC did not work and we couldn't use the shower, since it had only very hot water (could probably be fixed by the owner, but it was late already). The guy working there did not really talk to us, despite the fact that I speak good mandarin. The view and outside area was really nice, but I would not recommend staying in winter, because it was very cold in the evening and there is no place to eat inside. The next day a woman arrived, she was very kind, gave us some homemade medicine for our sick child and gave us a ride to the river. Overall mixed feelings, especially with this price tag, it felt a little bit like a rip off.
