Yakushima was the highlight of our trip to Japan and I can’t praise this little gem of a hotel enough. The owners are absolutely delightful and take great pride in showing their guests an extremely high level of hospitality. They grow fruit on the property and we had homemade orange and guava mouse waiting for us each day as an unexpected surprise when we returned to our cottage after exploring the island. A tropical storm hit the island on our last day and the owners came to check on us as the power went out a couple of times and they wanted to make sure we didn’t need anything and understood how the hot water heater controls worked. I’m glad we chose to visit the island and couldn’t have been happier with our cottage. Wonderful place and a wonderful property.

We loved our 3-night stay at Morino Fairy and only wish we added more nights! The cottage is charming and comfortable, and having the outdoor bath, deck, and roof deck were wonderful bonuses. The host left amazing little desserts in the fridge each day, which were a delicious treat after a day of hiking or sightseeing. We also really appreciated the informational binder of things to do in Yakushima, including hand-drawn maps of nearby walking paths. We’d love to return!

I don't think I asked for too much, but I was denied and had the staff deal with it. I was depressed during the trip. I was disappointed with my fun trip to Yakushima. The reviews were very good, so it was a long time since I last traveled with my family, so it's a shame. From the owner's point of view, it may be something they do every day, but I had been looking forward to it for two months, so I think I made a mistake in choosing the accommodation. I would like to come to Yakushima again, but I won't be staying here again.
