I stayed at Yad HaShmona Hotel for an academic writing retreat with a group of colleagues. The hotel was very accommodating—they provided us with a classroom space to work in during the day, which was exactly what we needed. Two of us stayed in the basic rooms, while my friend and I booked an upgraded room. I think the upgraded rooms are definitely worth it—the basic rooms are a bit too minimal, while the upgraded ones come with a balcony, a coffee station, and are overall much cozier. The mountain view from the room was lovely and added to the atmosphere. The only downside is that the trash area is located too close to some of the rooms, which slightly takes away from the otherwise serene setting. The hotel grounds include extensive gardens and easy access to the surrounding outdoor area, where one can enjoy very pleasant evening walks. The setting is peaceful and has a unique rural charm. Breakfast was exceptionally good and is provided by Luisa Catering, which I also used for my wedding back in the day—they are truly excellent. Everything is made from local products, and the menu includes precise, well-prepared dishes like homemade quiche and eggs made to order. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
