I didn't have much expectation for the B&B I stayed in. It was very close to the flower sea scenic spot and the owner was very enthusiastic and helped with the luggage. After reading reviews about how good his cooking is, and since we southerners like to eat leafy vegetables, we planned to make some for lunch that day. However, we didn't have enough time on the road, so we thought that since the B&B we were staying in that night provided meals, we might as well eat in the B&B restaurant, and ask the owner to blanch the leafy vegetables we had already washed in boiling water to avoid waste. So after checking in, we ordered a pot of stewed beef with potatoes for 160 yuan in the restaurant. The meat in Xinjiang is calculated by kilogram, and we thought that a pot of beef for 160 yuan would be enough for us, but what was served was stewed beef bones with potatoes, big bones. How can one kilogram of meat compare to one kilogram of bones? The cook was an old lady in her 60s. The dish she first served was only 6 pieces of meat with some bones. Seeing our dissatisfaction, the boss wanted us to return it, but the old lady refused to let us do so. The boss had to say that their beef stew with potatoes was just beef stew with potatoes and bones, and it was also sold by kilogram. In the end, the boss took it back and added one-third of the amount, and it was still beef bones. I have traveled to so many places in the country and eaten countless beef stews with potatoes, but I have never tried beef stew with potatoes with potatoes and beef bones (the key is that it is sold by kilogram). Haha, I am really convinced! In the end we ordered 3 bowls of rice and the leafy vegetables we brought and had a makeshift dinner. The meal cost a total of 175 yuan. I didn't write a review after checking out because I was waiting to compare and see if this was the worst meal I got after my entire Xinjiang trip was over. The result is really not unexpected!
