Shanshuiju Hotel (Siguniang Mountain Changping Valley Scenic Area)

The beds were very very uncomfortable. The beds were very hard and sleeping on a steel bed. We didn't get a good rest for 2 nights which made attitude sickness worse. I would suggest owner to add a mattress topper so it is more comfortable. Also the floor heating has a timing which the boss would switch on and off. The second morning the floor heating was switched off early so it got really cold in the room. The owner was nice to drive us to the tourist bus terminal as it was snowing heavily. The bus terminal has buses to Chengdu and Dujiangyan. The hotel is located opposite Changpinggou which is convenient. Restaurants were further walk up a steep slope.

We paid for the Queen room (with view). Room is spacious, bedding comfortable, nice scenery as shown on photo. Hotel has a lift which is convenient for big luggages. Owner is hospitable and it appears is trying to run a bnb business with comfortable rooms. For improvements: Room has quite a few dead flies on floor when we checked in. It looked like hotel has smoked the flies or sprayed insect killer; but hotel needs to remove the dead flies on floor prior to guests checked in. Seeing many dead flies on room floor was quite off-putting for us.

I dont know how I should start. Firstly, there were just too many houseflies in the room. There were at least 10 (see photos) flies in the room at all times. When I told this to the reception, he just said that perhaps we can use the fly incense? I am like...wouldn't that smoke us as well since we are inside? The service value is almost 0. The room itself is nice if not for the above fact. We had a ceiling window and its slightly dirty and the weather was cloudy. But maybe it would be better in another season. The lights at the corridor was also turned off for at night for some reason. And I think we were the only ones in the hotel in Sep. So it was a little creepy. The hotel is located at the end of the small street. So it is also very quiet there. The hotel also doesn't have a business number for foreigners to order ******* for. Unlike all the other places I have stayed within China. The only good thing out of this stay is that they provided water whenever I asked for it.
