Xiamen Leye Homestay (Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street)

Suitable for family. Location is right in the middle of the walking street. The host is very responsive and helpful. Would stay again.

First of all the photos for this place were quite misleading, not nearly as smart as it looked in the photos. Including a photo of the entrance would be a good indication of the sort of accomodation it was. As a non Chinese speaking person it was very hard to find the entrance. It is not a place I would recommend. The first room I was given was not what I booked, I then given another one which was on the 4th floor, no lift but was helped up with my bags. I was there for 3 nights, my room was only serviced once. One of the curtains was hanging half off. I was assured, (through my Chinese speaking friends arranging it ) that I would be assisted down the 4 flights of stairs with my bags when I checked out. We were also assured over the phone the morning I left that someone would be in the office who would help, no one was anywhere so had to struggle down with 2 suitcases on my own. The place would be a death trap in a fire with only the one exit and food stalls by the entrance and all around.
