The hotel is new, with compact but clean and comfortable rooms. Located on Gulangyu Island, it’s worth noting that the area isn’t suitcase-friendly—think lots of steps and cobblestone paths. Definitely pack light.
One helpful touch: the hotel offers a complimentary one-way luggage pick-up service from the pier to the hotel, which is great upon arrival. However, it’s not offered for the return trip, which feels a bit awkward and inconsistent.

Easily one of the better hotels we have experienced in China. Beautifully designed compound, with amazing trees, plants and birds. Staff is very helpful and always smiling.

First of all, the room rates are relatively low if compared to European hotels. The hotel’s garden and courtyard are very tranquil and nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They also upgraded us to a bigger room. The breakfast was delicious and so the afternoon tea. The free daily refilled minibar was great. The sunset view from the deck was great! We had a nice stay there.
