I arrived at Building 3, Xian Renmin Dasha, no reception staff. I rang the desk telephone as instructed only to be instructed that I hade been moved the the Grand Mercure Hotel next door. This hotel is good with friendly staff, very clean facilities and a breakfast that is part Chinese-Western. Next door in another hotel is access to a swimming pool and gym, which I used, and had sole use at 0700hrs in the morning. The front desk permitted late check-out to 1400hrs, which was ideal to facilitate not having to carry a bag around Xian, as I then travelled direct to the airport.

Stayed at Grand Mercure Hotel. You can swim at Sofitel and have afternoon tea at Sofitel Legend. Very relaxing trip. The service of Grand Mercure Hotel is very good. Because my flight was delayed, the manager kindly extended our check-out time by two hours so that we didn't have to wait so long at the airport. They always responded to any requests. I will definitely book their hotel next time I go to Xi'an and recommend it to my friends.
