I don’t advise international travellers to stay in this hostel. it’s not a typical hostel in the American/European sense. It’s a hostel for local students, etc. You won’t be able to communicate in English and make friends here. There is no kitchen, communal spaces are shabby, overall hostel interior is dark and more rugged.
I booked a separate room with double bed for 4 nights, but I didn’t sleep even one night there.
The advantages are central location, friendly and helpful staff (even though they don’t speak English), big and clean bed, clean curtains.
The disadvantages prevailed though. The place smells bad: the kitchen area smells of cigarettes because it’s allowed to smoke inside, the corridor smells of fish, my room smelt of dampness and mold. The room was shabby and ragged, dirt spots on the walls, hairs on the toilet seat, stained mirrors, horrible old shower curtain with stains of black mold. Overall not a nice place to stay in.
