I stayed at the Premier Inn Manchester Heald Green in Room 30, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a hotel. It was clear the cleaning staff had long since retired because not only did this place need an overhaul—it needed demolishing. From the moment I walked in, I was hit with a pungent stench of urine, cigarettes, and mould. The room itself was absolutely vile—the bathtub was lined with black grime, the soap dispenser was rusted, and the shower curtain was filthy. The bedding was just as bad—dirty, grimy sheets that made me feel completely violated. I expected basic, but for £80 a night, I at least expected cleanliness—this felt more like a shanty hut, and that’s being generous. To make matters worse, the heating was broken, leaving the room cold and uncomfortable. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, my arrival was greeted with groans and loud banging from the adjacent room—which went on all night long. Having checked in at 10 PM, the fact that I counted down the hours until morning just to escape says it all. By the time I got home, I felt the urgent need to douse myself in Dettol—and no, I’m not exaggerating or a germaphobe; it was just that disgusting. If I could give zero stars, I would. Consider this your warning—AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
