We were on a mid-week deal: b&b plus seven-course tasting menu, £249 for two. Very much out of the usual model of expenditure for us but the exceptional catering (see separate review under Wye restaurants) made it really special and completely exceeded our expectations. We were upgraded before we got there so knew we'd have the best room and that meant a bath with large-headed shower over, plus a superior king-sized bed. Best thing was that the heating was already on - it was NOT warm for May 31 - and we could turn it up and down as we wanted. Excellent. The bed was indeed huge and although the room overlooked the street the road noise wasn't obvious until well after we were up and about. The real star though was the restaurant: sublime dinner and yummy breakfast. Choice of "Continental", full English, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon or avocado with poached eggs. Both the egg dishes were delicious, eggs perfectly cooked. Wye itself was surprisingly quiet. Sadly the little bakery was closed but the church was interesting (unusually modern interior by the altar) and we got in two good walks even with black clouds overhead: North Downs Way (off Coldharbour Lane) and the Memorial Crown (footpath starts in the churchyard). All in all it was a wonderful way to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary - and being in our seventies we make sure to celebrate every one!

Stayed for one night with friends who had been before and recommended it. Amazing from start to finish. We stayed in the cottage rooms which were very comfortable and well equipped with tea, coffee, fresh milk and bottled water. We started the evening with cocktails at the bar, which were delicious. We then had the seven course tasting menu, which was sublime. The staff were so friendly and the service excellent. after a good nights sleep we all enjoyed a full English, which again was first rate. The staff were all so friendly and went the extra mile. We will certainly be returning again.

Booked our table on Friday 22nd April 2022 and had the 5 course tasting menu. The staff were really friendly as soon as we arrived and the restaurant is absolutely lovely. The food was outstanding and as a special occasion this really did hit the mark. Somewhere I'd definitely love to visit again!
