I booked Xichong Courtyard without hesitation because of the brand of Shujia. It turned out to be a wise decision. I took my parents to stay in a suite for two nights. It was quiet and comfortable. Family of 6 with 2 children and a young baby. The resort grows on you. I say resort as it's not a conventional hotel as such. Its designed and styled as a mosaic of accommodation types spread out amongst the large grounds, or Scenic Area, as its markted. This was confusing and after a long journey to reach the 'hotel', we had to first check in at a enormous building which is also the public entrance for day visitors to the resorts attractions. Our taxi from the station (which declined to use the meter, ¥20, dropped us on the main road and not at the entrance. Not great with our excessive luggage. We were then transported on extended golf buggy style vehicles to what was the opposite end of the resort. The accommodation was very comfortable and well designed. The only fault is the long walks to the facilities such as breakfast (in another hotels restaurant). That said, you can call for a buggy pick up. On check in we were informed the large water park was not open until later in the season. Too cold apparently, despite being in the high 20c's. A lit of the resort appears to be in state of construction with empty shells of buildings scattered about. By the end of the 4 nights, we warmed up, literally, to the style of resort, the colourful scenery and facilities, those which were open. It's a bit far put of the centre of Wuyuan, though there is nothing too exciting to see in the city centre.
