Great Ibis hotel with excellent service and a committed team. Family atmosphere. Clean, functional rooms and an excellent breakfast. Nice service at the hotel bar. Unbeatable value for money. Highly recommended. Would happily go back. Welcome drinks for all guests. Unfortunately no welcome treatment. But very friendly service.

The hotel is basic but serves the need if you only want a place to sleep over. All services are done online (which is awesome!). The instructions for entering the hotel and room can be quite frustrating and you need to pay careful attention to the steps. The room was clean and exactly what I expected. Sad to say that only German stations were available on the TV. All international stations had no signal. The parking area in front of the hotel is, unfortunately, a gathering place for “hotrod youngsters” on a Sunday evening. That means BMW’s revving, loud music en shouting. This eventually stopped but don’t expect an early night. Overall a good experience if you want a sleep and go scenario.

This review does not refer to the hotel, but only to the restaurant in the hotel building. The hotel is located at the end of a rather densely built residential street with chaotic parking conditions. The hotel does have its own parking lot and a small parking garage, but even this fills up quite quickly, especially when large family gatherings are held in the restaurant. The rooms of the restaurant can be found by passing through some rather confusing and winding corridors. The ambience is a bit old-fashioned. The service is not really professional, which you notice during the whole stay. Even the payment process only works reasonably promptly if you intercept your waitress at the billing computer. You have to wait a long time before you get the chance to reorder drinks. So you sit for quite a long time in front of empty glasses. But now to the main thing: food. Various schnitzels are offered with French fries and a side salad. The salad is okay, but the schnitzel not at all. The meat is dried out, the breading has a consistency that corresponds to that of frozen products. The whole product is too salty and not really edible. Thus, several guests ate the schnitzel only in part. And this was not noticed by the waitress. It was also not asked at all whether the food was okay. The fries, on the other hand, were edible. A very long time ago, this was a recommendable restaurant where many locals liked to eat.

I was charged more than the agreed price and the hotel refuses to respond to my complaint. I was in the neigborhood and called them after seeing their prices on their site. Based on their offer I went to the hotel, the check-in took a long time because of computer problems. They charged my credit card, I asked for the bill to check it but they said I would get it at check-out. When I complained the next morning they would follow up later. They now deny it and claim I got a better room, but the price of my room on their site is still much lower than paid.

Nice location, you can walk by the river or to the village with its restaurants. Bier garten also nice. A few things could be better: breakfast foods were hardly ever refilled, so no fruit, juice, nutella unless you get there early. What was worst however was the reception. On checkout they made us pay for someone elses restaurant bill, and when we went back because that was not ours, she did not even apologize but instead looked at us suspiciously. Did she really think that bill full of alcoholic beverages was mine? I am quite visibly pregnant. So here is a tip: check the room number by viewing the key before putting the bill on someone elses room. Anyway the restaurant wasnt great, after the main course they never asked us if we wanted anything else (so no desert or 2nd drinks..). Overall I got the impression they were understaffed & the staff could learn something about service.

The hotel is in the centre of Bochum, exit the hotel and you are in the centre. Parking is underneath the hotel in a public garage for an acceptable daily rate. Beds great, but the bedlinnen for a double bed is so small that one person is left out in the cold. Hotel is brand new. Loved the hotel. Breakfast great except the juices. Friendly staff. What needs improvement: The mentioned bed linnen / covers. The hotel needs to do something about that. I do not know what kind of ”juice” comes out of the machine at breakfast, but you really cannot call this orange juice.

I was staying with a friend in a twin room for two nights, to visit a member of the Starlight Express cast, the Hotel is perfectly situated right next door to the Theatre. The Reception Staff were very welcoming and our room was esy to find, using a lift. The room itself was very clean, spacious and airy (it was a very hot weekend). Water (both Still & Sparkling), was provided. The bed was very comfortable and bedding crisp and clean. Bathroom was fine with a good Shower. Room would be improved by supplying Tea & Coffe making facilites and an extra mirror, as good mirrors in bathroom and one full ength on Bathroom door, but the room could de with another mirror in the main room, so that two people can get ready at the same time. The Breakfast was really good, with an excellent choice of Continental, with a smaller choice of cooked, but excellent all around and the Coffee was very good. The Courtyard area is a lovely area for coffee or a Cocktail and the restaurant staff were really friendly, professional, with all staff speaking English. I hope to be staying again next year- thank you very much team H!

The hotel is 20 minutes walk from Essen Central Railway Station, not far from the pedestrian street, walking is within walking distance, parking is also very convenient downstairs in the hotel itself.
The parking fee is 17.5 Euro/night, which is a bit more expensive. The parking fee has to be paid in advance and not accepted. It is estimated that inflation in Europe has been quite severe in the past two years. I feel that prices are soaring, and prices for meals and accommodation are rising.

GGuest UserExcellent location close to buses and trains. Excellent breakfast. Cleaning service below average. Due to sustainable cleaning policy rooms are cleaned upon request (not every two days as they say) it means that you run out of shower gel (we had to ask at the reception), towel (had to phone reception) and toilet paper! When they clean it is not accurate (one bed was made and the other not). There is no phone in the rooms and airdryer is a toy (stops every minute) We asked for a real air dryer and they didn’t have it (how come?? What do they do if your hairdryer breaks down? Leave you with wet hair?) but carefully explained how the hairdryer works (what?)

A modern building, very nice rooms, large buffet breakfast choice. Our room looked out over Wuppertal, as the hotel is on a hill. It is five minutes walk from the nearest “Schwebebahn” (monorail) station. It has five free parking spaces, but there is an underground car park very close. Very friendly reception, and convenient lifts. I’d recommend it highly.

HholsteinandreasI am a multi-researcher and know almost every kind of hotels. The specialized hotel, was recommended to me, so I booked there. Very nice, old specialized house from inside was cleaned and lovely furnished. Reception: it does not take place. Here you get a code then the room key. That would better ... Very clean, as already mentioned, beautifully furnished rooms, good Wifi Breakfast wonderful. Finally, freshly prepared egg food, breakfast ingredients are brought on floors for everyone. All products from the region. Great coffee. Very friendly service. What is missing. Parking. However, there are opposite in a parking house. So whoever doesn't always want the standard and still wants to be centrally placed is very well lifted here. It's always happy to be back.

GGuest UserWe were going to the euros and saw this hotel for £100 per night. In places like cologne they were charging near £300. Right away the price of this place was good. The lady on reception was friendly and told us all the information we would need and explained the night entrance to us very well. We were also promised twin beds in the room and we were given them. The breakfast at €20 pp is a scam so we avoided that as there are plenty to places to eat and drink in the area. The room was basic but it was clean and spacious enough. The beds were comfy and it also has a tv (only German channels but it’s expected really.) The toilet has an adequate shower. They leave free water and glasses in the rooms too. Overall this is a good hotel that does the job for a few nights at a great price during a major tournament. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

GGuest UserThis hotel is a wonderful accident. Someone reminded that it is close to Hbf and the law and order is not good. It is quite safe to arrive at 10 o'clock in the evening. The doorway is a lively commercial street. It may not be convenient to drive by car. The twin room booked unexpectedly gave two twin beds, and the family of 4 could stay loose. The room and bathroom are oversized. The breakfast was very good. Praise! ! !

Beautiful environment, good geographical location, convenient transportation, comfortable and sanitary rooms, service staff are very enthusiastic, facilities are very humane, high-speed network signal is good, the view outside the window is good. The design of the room's small pendulum is also very distinctive. Next time, check in.
